I had everything uploaded to my computer anyways so I shredded it all.

His Louisiana office is 20 minutes from me. I may have to drop in to discuss my case... wink wink. 😆

Thank goodness y'all are safe! You will need the green card for naturalization, however, I would add it on the insurance claim for reimbursement. It's about $500 to replace.

Passport received! Nat certificate received (crumpled, thanks USPS)! Only have SSA left to update but that can wait. Done my journey!

Local post office lost my passport :(. They marked it delivered on Dec 26 but the mail truck did not even come by that day. It's a common problem with this post office that they mark items delivered then they appear up to a week later. I put in a request with the post office but still haven't heard anything back yet. So frustrating.

It looks really easy for AL: download and fill out the form, sign it then return it within 30 days. You don't even need a marriage ceremony!

Routine application:
Applied Dec 1
Received Dec 10
Passport shipped Dec 22!
Expected arrival Dec 28

I wonder if New Orleans office is doing same day oath for new interviews or not. Do you have any idea?
I don’t know, sorry!

Hi, have you got your oath ceremony done yet?
Yes! July 10th.

They asked for new evidence after I had filed. Since I had filed in 2019, they wanted bank statements etc from then on.

I applied today for my passport! The clerk insisted I needed a birth certificate and a marriage certificate because I did a name change. I said “no name change, my naturalization certificate has the same name I am applying in”. She wasn’t going to do my application until I asked her to show me in the instructions where I said to provide birth and marriage certificates. She backed down and said she will submit it without but that the Department of State may contact me for those documents. I said okay, great thank you then she was snarky to me for the rest of the process. What a trip!

If you are filing based on the 3 year rule, then it is proof of ongoing relationship with your spouse. If you are filing based on 5 year, then I wouldn't include it.,

I would add wills and Power of Attorneys.

I had my interview in Feb or March (I can't remember). Pre-covid. Super easy but I did have to show additional evidence since over a year had elapsed from when I had filed. Luckily I had brought it with me. They changed the format for the questions though, you have to answer 12 correctly instead of 6 after Dec 1.

I used to purchase through BCAA. They had (not sure if they still do) a policy that covered me for a year, no matter how many trips I took or where, for a fixed price. I never actually used it but I was going to one time because I messed up my back and wanted to go to an Urgent Care. I called them and they were super helpful and said they would cover my Urgent Care visit. I didn't end up going though so I can't say how it would have turned out.

Nope, it's literally that "easy". Some people choose to wait 5 years instead of 3 because it's much simpler. They may ask questions about your marriage, etc at the interview but you don't have to submit all the extras that you would with a 3 year application.
-
It's a generic form. I filed at 3 years based on marriage to a US citizen so I filled out 3 years worth of travel history. Never got an RFE and am now a citizen.

I went to a photography shop with the Canadian specifications printed out. I had no problems.
