I'm going to put your worries to an end then. I had my interview Wednesday and my passport is available for pick up today. That's 2 days. Now if you go back and look at Canadians over the past months, many have updated and many have not. From the data I collected myself from the searches I have done, 2 is the most common number of days to wait, though 3-4 is the runner up. However there are circumstances like Austincanada had to go through. He hit a holiday which made everything mess up but he still waited 9 days when the government quotes 7-14days. Don't stress over these things, it'll ruin your health, trust me.Good luck.

Well I had my POE at the Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier Airport and the officer that handled me there was the last officer I had talked to when I visited last so he was really excited and happy and friendly. It was a great POE! I'm in Chicacgo for a layover and then I'll be in Atlanta!

Mandiimoose got a reaction from Dualie in December 2014 Interviews
I got it from my town police in September. It does have the rcmp mention on it but I figured if they're asking for a new one I might as well go all out. Honestly I don't think I need a new check but rather the NVC stated in my P4 letter that they had sent the consulate my police check which couldn't have been true since all I sent were scans. I think Montreal just said I need a new one but meant bring the original one because they don't have it themselves. Does that make sense? Anyways I'll bring both to the interview and ask which one they actually wanted, it's more money out of my pocket but I want to be safe! So I hope I get that RCMP check in the mail soon. On a side note I'm staying in Montreal for the week of my interview just because! I was thinking I should stand outside on the 18th since everyone except me seems to have their interview that day and then ask and congratulate as they go!

This is why you NEVER let the husband do things! The only thing my husband did was sign the i86ez and create an IRS account. I downloaded the forms, printed, scanned, put in one pdf, made sure they weren't protected, then shoved them into dropbox so my hubby could do any extra things I didn't know how to do! Mostly he just reorganized everything and compressed the files and sent the email off himself. Yep yep...

Mandiimoose got a reaction from ChristinaG in Total Fees Required for Completing CR-1
420 - initial i-130 form
325 - Immigrant Visa fee (pay before able to submit IV documents/ ds260)
120 - Affidavit of Support Fee
300 - Medical
Things to consider:
Hotel room costs either in Montreal or if you need to travel far for your medical, etc.
Flights/Transportation to Montreal for the interview, or medical, etc.
Passport photos. The whole process takes like 8 photos. 1 set for the i130, 4 for medical, 2 for interview
$1165 + random expenses
= ~$1500 or more
Good luck.

I bought a really nice big umbrella from Shopper's Drug Mart. It has a long pointy end. I think I'll carry it with me when I walk around the big cities incase anyone decided to go crazy! I'll just bop them on the head a few times with my unassuming umbrella!

I'm really super angry. I don't want my fellow Canadians living in fear of what happened. That means the terrorists win. They can't get to me though!!! I'm so sick of these people who are obviously sick mentally joining extremist religions just so they can feel like they're doing good when they murder innocent people. How delusional can you be???? Everyone on my facebook feed is crying about how the prime minister is being held in safety while civilians aren't. It's like ????? What do you expect? It's apparent that our government officials and military/security are being targeted. We should be protecting them. We are capable as regular citizens to shut ourselves away. Those soldiers that were driving were very much targeted when they were hit! Gosh. Anyways I'm fairly sure if you don't have any spontaneous trips to the Middle East you're fine.. I'm sure the government might look for that when looking over our forms. I'm mad.

Heya! Just wanted to make sure you know you have to scan the whole form because it's security protected when you first download it. But yeah, have your husband just print the page he needs to sign on his end then scan it back in, then scan every other page and put it together in a new PDF. My husband and I did EP and had no problems at all while using online resources to compress our PDFs. Make sure your package is 5MB or less!
Another thing that's protected are the tax transcripts from the IRS website, so if you just downloaded and saved them you either need to find a way to remove the security or print them out and rescan them also.

I wonder if all us Canadians who are waiting right now will get our interviews the same day haha. I guess we should bring a paper and hold it up with our usernames on it if that happens

Depends on the weather! If it's winter my husband would rather wait to drive in the spring to bring my belongings since he really has no experience with winter conditions. I live with my parents so my stuff is fine sitting around for a few months. But I think if the weather is nice he might drive up with a little u haul and we would drive. Buuuut I also really want to shove my visa in the border agents' faces at the Ottawa airport. They've made traveling hell for me so I'd like them to know how great I am for immigrating legally! Haha. My luck though would be that the agent there might not have even dealt with me before. But once I get my visa in hand I'm entering the states the same or next day. I've been with my husband for four years and will be married for one year in 6 days!!!! I'm ready to live with him. -

CEAC changed to n/a. Holy moly. I want to call NVC but I don't want to at the same time. I should just wait for an email. But it could mean what it usually means which would be super duper awesome to confirm.
