  2. My Representative and Senator both told me their priority is making sure people here without documentation get a path to citizenship. My other Senator didn't have a clue to this process and my questions went unanswered. Gives me an idea of who to vote for in a couple months, at least lol

Oh wow, that really sucks! How dumb can they be with that kind of attitude.

My senator is from California and she supports the path to citizenship as well but they have to take care of legal immigration first!!

  3. That's great you were able to get COngressional support. My Senator/Representaive were completely useless :/

The staffers that I worked with were extremely nice and engaging. I talked with a DC based staffer from the Judiciary committee and a local USCIS liaison from my Senator's office. They listened and promised to bring up my concerns with the senator and USCIS.

    My points were twofold:

    1) DACA case load completely derailing USC I-130s; on this front I provided the FOIA letters from someone else that proved that USCIS deliberately diverted resources away for DACA. They told me USCIS rep. responded that DACA had nothing to do with it!! (LOL, I pointed out the emails again). This was right around the time of the transfer start, at which she pointed out USCIS addressed my concern.

    2) K3 visa weren't being used as intended by the 2000 family act; USCIS was simply combining 130 and 129s. I was told they have been doing this to save money as 129F with k3 have no fees it was not feasible for them to process individually on a large scale. I was told they'll continue to work on this concern.

I am not sure anything concrete came out of my personal interaction, but it sure felt good to me and my spouse that we were being proactive. I sure as hell know that mass letter writing and other campaign by many on this site as a group certainly had a huge impact!

  4. I am really new to this whole thing and don't quite now how to go about all those things.

I am out of the country at this time so I'm not sure how that would work but I will give it a shot by contacting some people.
I've tried calling before since my case is out of the normal processing time but I keep getting a machine.
How about sending something directly to the CSC director and asking for progress report? - How exactly do I go about that ?

Oh sorry, you are the beneficiary. Your spouse, the USC, would have to initiate this process. All Rep. and Senators have a USCIS/Immigration liaison to contact or even write a letter or fax a letter directly to the rep/senator.

Regarding contacting CSC director, please see the Mar/Apr/May I-130 filer threads; there are many who have had to push to get progress made. I don't have the email address of that person off hand. I was lucky enough to not have to go that path, I simply worked with my Senator's office on the general process and pointed out the inefficiencies that they addressed with the USCIS staff.

However, all of this will have to be done by your spouse.

  5. I too am still waiting and it's been 9 months - 10 on the 21st of this month and I am seriously trying very hard everyday not to break down and cry. I want to visit my friend in Denmark and the best way would be to transit through the U.S and I can't even do that without a visa which is almost impossible to get if you have a case pending. It's like I'm in a box and no one will let me out. No one will even put a cut out so I can get some air. I am just hoping like you though I get a reply by this month which will make 10 months. This is just ridiculous :[

My case was transferred to California on January 31st. That's the last I hear.

Did your case get transferred ?

How long did you wait after it being transferred ?

Have you contacted your representative or senator? How about sending something directly to the CSC director and asking for progress report? You are out of their normal processing windows, you should be able open a case. Lots of the monthly I-130 filer threads have good information on other member's experiences and what they did.

    Good luck!

  6. Ok guys.... here is a question...

i read at VJ.... Step 6 - IV Package... this...

"Note: the two packages (AOS and IV) can either be mailed separately or together. Either one works. Again, as long as NVC receives it, that's all that matters. If you do decide to mail them together, I suggest putting each in a separate manila envelope (and clearly mark it and write "AOS" or "IV" on each one), then putting both manila envelopes inside the shipping envelope."

Question; that mean... i can send the 2 packages by (postal service), after we pay the AOS FEE, n get only include a copy of your bar-code sheet of only that AOS FEE (bcs at that moment only paid the AOS FEE) ??.... is that the correct way to send?..... and that is for different departament, how i do it?

    Thx

You can send both of them together only if you get your AOS and IV fee invoiced together (This will happen if you have a lawyer). Otherwise you have to wait and pay the IV fee prior to sending the IV package.

  7. Its ridiculous to think anyone has to wait a certain amount of time before they can raise awareness inquire or complain. Isn't that how things get done in the good old US.

I waited 3 months and I wrote a letter to Obama yes directly to him and got an approval 10 days later, coincidence who knows. And the letter wasn't really even about me I wasn't complaining about me, but i sure was complaining about the process. And that was back in 2012 when approvals were 3 to 6 months.

This is the only way things get recognition and things get changed. We all sit here so happy to just wait what use to be 5 months, now a year. Hell naw That is totally unacceptable. Someone comes along and goes through faster. God bless um. Why be mean and a hater.

So you just do what you do OP and keep it coming. Congratulations on the upcoming interview

Thank you very much dwheels and thank you for your continued efforts for all the members.

  8. This is fantastic! Thanks for sharing this :)

By the way, your timeline gives me hope. I am not too far behind you so I can hope for a case complete next week (*hope* being the key word)

Btw, Waiting____, are you a part of the facebook group? (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1448412012059417/) and (https://www.facebook.com/groups/USGreencardpetitionerscommittee/)

If not, can I post this there? There are many people there who'd love to read this.

Glad to share. You are welcome to share it as you see fit, just mention acquired via FOIA.

All of those at NVC; there is hope for sure. They are working OT and really getting through the case load (once the case# is assigned). Good luck!!

  9. Redactions are likely personal information/details, either of the staff or of the petitioners (that's generally what's redacted). ...you don't actually want any/everyone able to read your file personal data, right? :D

Has anyone done a FOIA for the K1 petitions that went to TSC and ended up not getting snail-mailed NOA2s (even though the paperwork was processed and sent along to State, etc)? I know there's been a rash of those (missing NOA2s); might be interesting to see if there's a similar training-related reason that many of us hit hiccups.

I think there is some personal data redactions, but not the majority.

Lots of what they call privileged are stats and other operational stuff. I got a letter explaining all the legal mumbo-jumbo on what they provided and what they couldn't. I am allowed to even appeal if I so chose to have some of the stuff un-redacted.

  10. I'm on page 11 now, and it appears the NSC backlog could be because 50% of transfers went there while TSC and CSC only got 25% each.

Also, the K-3s were sent separate, which would explain the slight delay those people experienced....

Ok, back to reading! Thanks again for sharing this!

Both TSC and NSC required training. On pg6, they mention sending training batches to each: NSC got 1800 and TSC got 300.

  11. If I'm understanding this correctly, page 6 would explain why they're being adjudicated out of order, no?

    Yep, good catch.

Holy ###### where did you get this???? This should never have been released to the public - WOW AWESOME FIND!!!

The wonders of the Freedom of Information Act, one of the tools we as the public have to hold the public officials accountable. They have redacted lots of stuff, really wondering what's in those conversations...

  12. Awesome, we've got quite the party going g now! ^_^

Congrats to both of you, that's wonderful news!

I'm feeling so restless tonight. NVC can't tell me if London will do a second round of interview scheduling, so while I know it's happening at other embassies/consulates, it does me no good. It's frustrating to have missed the May scheduling cutoff so closely and then have a whole month to wait. We're so ready to be done!

Hang in there, the second round of interviews scheduling goes up to 15th-16th per the data. Maybe it's coming over next couple of days, fingers crossed for you.

You would certainly be first inline for June, just in case.

    Wishing you the best.

  13. We too got the same thing. As per the instructions:

You have scheduled an appointment for a non-immigrant or immigrant visa to the U.S. Most applicants will have an appointment at the Visa Application Center (OFC), followed by an appointment at the Embassy or Consulate.

From Mumbai consulate interview reviews, I see medical report is submitted at the time of interview only. So I would not worry.

Thank you very much! I thought so, but good to get a confirmation. Thanks again.

  14. Just curious... Did you write the case number with pen or pencil?

I thought on using pencil on the IV package so I don't write permanently over my original docs.. This way I could erase the number after getting them back at the embassy. Another member suggested to use sticky notes, but they might get off easily when handling the docs

I would go with the sticky notes, no need to deface originals with case #s. My 2 cents

  15. Medical April 19 at Chennai Apollo

Biometrics April 17 @ Chennai VAC

Visa Interview @ Mumbaii consulate (Scheduled for May 19)

POE will be DFW [No steps taken yet.]

Did your biometrics appointment get scheduled as an OFC appointment?

I assumed that the OFC appointment is the VAC/Biometric one, however the instructions seems to suggest bringing everything that's needed for the consular appointment, including the medical. Hence I am bit worried if I scheduled the right appointment, or if an OFC appointment is something different.

  16. For NVC, Do I need copy of my wife old passport or just the new passport copy.

    She just updated her passport.

You just need the new passport and just the biographic page.

Also, India birth certificate her birthdate is like Date/Month/year. (03/12/1991)

    In USA we have Month/Date/Year. ( 12/03/1991)

Is it okay to have this complicated date in BC?

I think they should be very well aware of this; my wife's birth certificate was in day-mon-year format. No issues.

Btw, great to hear they got the USCIS->NVC issue straightened out. After the case# assignment things are moving even faster at NVC now. 30 days from case# to case complete is very much achievable w/o any checklists. Good luck!

  17. Wowwwww! Congrats! Nothing for me yet!

Thanks Hope you hear something soon.

    Congrats!

    Thanks!

Did you call and get this information or was it in a email? My case was complete on April 7. Should I call them?

I found out by calling and few hours later I got the email with the interview letter.

    Congratulations.

    Thanks!

Congratulations. Please share the date of your receiving the IL. Also, later please share your experience @ Mumbai consulate.

I got the letter last night as well, and will certainly share rest of our experience with this awesome community...
