  1. Tonight I received the false checklist Jim warned me was on the way last night. Is a false checklist any indication of when the review might actually take place? Anyone here who's received one for the IV packet, when did you get it approved? My optimism is getting the better of me and I'm wondering if having received the checklist is a sign that our form is actually ready for review. Someone bring me back down to earth please!

Getting this checklist is simply an indication that the AOS package was reviewed, it's unrelated to the status of your IV package.

From what I gather, when they review either of the package the system generates the missing items as a checklist. Without cross checking the fact that the other package might already be in the building pending review or that it might not even be available due to the fact that fee for that package was still pending, etc.

  2. I called last night around 8pm EST, no movement on AOS (still getting the "wait 30 days" line) and IV packet hasn't been scanned. I'll be calling again tonight so they have time to process mail, I'm at least hoping the IV will be received by the end of today. Have they acknowledged receipt of your IV packet yet?

Ah, the famous wait 30 business days line :-)

I think it should be really soon for the AOS review, saw someone with a date of submit close to yours that was accepted recently. They have been doing a pretty awesome job as of late, we have pretty conclusive evidence now that they are working OT and Saturdays. Saw someone with a case complete on Sat!

I haven't had a chance to call since I sent it in, plan to call later in the day when they free up a bit. I was hoping to hear that AOS review was done, but guess not.

Hope you get movement soon, good luck!

  3. Hello JA_Martinez, Thanks for your response. I am still not certain after reading your answer. I have only 1 copy of the documents such as my wife and my step daughter's birth certificates. If I send them over to the NVC, will I get them back later? It is very difficult and pain staking to get copies of documents in India. Hence my concern.

Yes, you get the documents back during the interview.

You have to send originals, or 'certified' from the issuing authorities. You can't send copy of your original that's notarized, it has to have a stamp from the issuing authority.

  4. I filed the I-130 for my wife and step daughter on Aug 1st 2013. The case was transferred to the CSC on Jan 20th 2014. Today I saw the status below. What does it mean? Does it mean the case is tranferred to the NVC?

On March 20, 2014, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance.

The case status for my step daughter has not changed.

The I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

It usually means someone has touched your file.

It can mean that your NOA2 is coming very soon, or it could be nothing. We've seen examples of each; in my case after I got the message that very night I got the approval. For others, they have got this message and nothing else happens for weeks. I hope it's the former for you. Good luck.

  5. Really because I completed my DS261 earlier last week and it was accepted. I am assuming accepted meNs that green check mark . After that the bill for AOS was generated and processed ( on Griday last week) but as of today or IV it still says not available.

Yes, the green check mark simply indicates 'Submitted'; not accepted or reviewed. After couple of days from submission it'll get accepted in to the system (You'll have to call to find out no way to tell from the online system) and after that they'll review it. Once they review it; you'll get the IV bill.

Check out my timeline for reference for how long it's taking them to review DS-261 and generate the IV bills.

  6. I called congressman. He emailed to UScIs and NvC both.

He told me to wait 7 to 10 days for answer.

I did not have any other information. I wish everything goes to my side.

    How about you ?

I saw that you finished your case with everything.

So Are you planning to go India to get your wife here or Is she coming alone herself ?

Oh ok, hope they find out what's going on and get it fixed soon.

You should also make sure that they expedite your case due to their screw up. You might be able to skip NVC all together if you get an expedite. Directly present all the documents at the consulate in that case.

I finished all of my submissions, now waiting for them to review it and complete the case. I am not sure if I'll be going.

  7. ohhhh so happy for you..

Finally , we got one aprroval in August since long time..

    Good luck with NVC.

    Deep,

What happened to your case man? Did you find out more, it was really horrible to see that they screwed up so bad. Any words? Are you in contact with your senator's office to help. If you find the right liason they can help. Keep after them...

Man I really hope this get straightened out really soon. Really sucks dude crying.gif

  8. Hey, Saylin! Completely a different question:

I see a lot of people's signatures have "DS261 accepted", what does it mean? My original understanding was after the form being reviewed and approved (so to speak), but today we called NVC to ask for status on our DS261 and we were told it is in their system. This is not the same as acceptance right?

It's not the same. It's simply in their system now waiting review and acceptance. When it gets accepted or it's above to be accepted you'll see the yellow triangle on CEAC. After that you'll get a confirmation email for selection of agent and IV bill. Few hours after that the invoice will actually become payable.

Chceck out my signature, I have described all of the steps that were seen. It's consistent with what others have seen as well.

  9. Nope. They did not let me in. Unless you are the applicant with an I/L you aren't let through.

I forgot to mention that i asked my wife to get PCC again closer to the interview date. So she had one original from Oct 2013 when we started the NVC process and one from Jan 2014 (Interview was on Feb 3rd, 2014) and Jan dated PCC was just a backup incase they wanted an updated copy during the interview.

Wife did not have any issues getting the Jan dated PCC from the passport office and this was at chennai.

So if possible get an updated copy closer to the interview date if you can just as a backup.

Thanks for the info, it was very helpful.

  10. Hello Friends, can u please help me to answer my question?

My husband receive Noa2, and they said that NVC ll contact the beneficiary from now, my question is.... How they ll contact me (beneficiary) for email? or send something to my house? or they ll call me?, what i have to do?

    Tnx u very much, muackkkk

    Dianita

Don't depend on them contacting you. Give it a couple of weeks and start calling NVC for case update. Once they have your case you'll be able to provide email info and after that NVC will contact you via email for the entire process.

Check this out, lots of great info: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process

  11. Saylin,

I have question on my payment portal next to the Immigration visa there is a yellow triangle and an exclamation mark within the yellow triangle, what does this mean??

    Has anyone else experienced this?

    It's a good thing

They are invoicing your IV fee right now. Very soon you or your agent select will get an email with the invoice details. Soon after that, you'll be able to pay your IV fee.

The yellow triangle showed up for me yesterday morning and this afternoon I got the agent+invoice email. Now just waiting for the invoice to be available via CEAC so I can pay the thing.

  12. You need the PCC for NVC and also during the interview. Some people have got checklist from NVC for not submitting the PCC and some people haven't. Don't know the yardstick that NVC uses in this case.

I got a checklist for PCC after Case complete and heard different response from NVC even though i submitted the Original PCC obtained from the passport office. Anyway, you get two originals from the passport office and we sent one to NVC and took the other one to the consulate for interview.

Bottomline: Get a PCC from the passport office if you can (We got ours at Chennai since wife lives at chennai and had no issues. Infact nothing was asked) and submit one to NVC and bring the other original to the interview.

    Thanks!

Just looked at your timeline. Did they allow you in for the interview with your wife?
