allajustin got a reaction from OhWait in I-751 January 2016 filers any response yet?
Here is an update on my case:
After a no sleep night of checking the USCIS website for available infopass appointment to get my I-551 stamp, at 5 am I finally got one spot two weeks away in my local office. Went to work with fear only to receive an e-mail from USCIS (a response from my e-request) that my case was approved on Friday (the same day I was calling the USCIS) and the snob telling me there is no chance anytime soon.
My lesson: call, e-request, USCIS as much as you can, because there is evidence my call triggered my case approval (as a few other cases here), they obviously think if you don't call or contact them, you are in no rush and keep delaying as much as they can.

So, approval date: January, 27th for us. NOA1 November, 27, 2015.

If it's a "divorced woman" stigma issue you are concerned about---in the US there is not the same stigma over a woman being divorced as there would be in India.

    Rubya,
we all have some concerns here but it seems like you guys are freaking out for no reason. We are here to help each other but as @lovelyalex
mentioned you can always google and if you can't find your answers then feel free to ask but don't expect others to find the answers for you when you don't even try.
Coming to this forum and freaking out over something that is normal process is really annoying to be honest. We all have issues and worried but  we should be positive here.
And again i thank united states  that i am a permanent resident and they let me work and travel in their country. Believe me they didn't have to

Congratulations! That's so sweet of your colleagues! Mine did something similar with my face in the Statue of Liberty, along with American Flag balloon and American Pie on my desk!

Yes, Naana, please take all the originals and additional evidence that you may think relevant. You may not be asked for it, but it's always safe to have some extra docs with you. I got all the stamps that I was out of country ready to show from the passport (and they looked at those) along with itineraries-flight infos (they didn't ask for it, but you never know...)

Today's interview at Pittsburgh office went well, the civics questions were ridiculously easy. Went through all the questions fast, my husband came with me and the interviewing person mentioned it that it was so nice of him to come as my support. The interviewing person requested to see our medical insurance cards for all the three of us (and our baby) under one provider along with mutual checking and savings bank account statements (I filed under 3-year rule). Recommended for approval, waiting on the oath ceremony date. The journey is almost over and good luck to everyone else on the waiting list.

Congrats Faith! Do the answers to the questions on civics test have to be responded in written or oral form? And it is an open question or multiple choice test?

Really sorry to hear this, I would suggest not waste your time, and fly out and support FIL and the family, leave someone trusted to check your mail, and come back for the interview. You are still allowed up to 6 months outside the US to be eligible, and you can update your interviewer on this showing medical letters, etc.  to justify your absence. Unfortunately in my case all I could do is fly out for the funeral after N400 had been filed.

Awesome, thank you for reply, it seems easier than I thought then. Will follow as you suggested, in the end it is a joint tax return, so whoever requests the transcript, doesn't matter.

Being eligible to apply for citizenship, doesn't mean that one is able or is willing to apply, for ex. if you have to give up your another citizenship, or any other reason. It still puts you out for 6 or more months in limbo if ROC is under process.

You are welcome, the interview was the easiest part, once you bring all the documents, you hand them in, they take your fingerprints, then the consul calls your name and asks basic questions: how have you met, how long have you been knowing each other, where the wedding is going to be, etc, no tricky questions...Be honest, tell your story and a few days later they will call you back to hand you in a BIG envelope, which you drop off at US Customs when entering the US. P.S. Forgot to tell you that you need some kind of form for the medical from your family doctor with all of your illnesses and all of the vaccinations from birth up till now, you will need that for AOS as well (the vaccinations).

Well, the status "Ready" doesn't always mean they have received physically all the documentation.
Here what I found about the Ready status with other people experience afte NVC:
Tim's case was completed on May 16th, case file left NVC for Guangzhou on May 22nd. Tim said he doesn't remember when he saw "In Transit" at CEAC, but it was showing "Ready" yesterday (May 27th). He wrote Guangzhou using their contact webpage on May 24th (Saturday), and was surprised to get a reply yesterday (May 27th):
The case was electronically loaded by the National Visa Center (NVC), which allows us to open the case in our system. However, we still require all of the supporting physical documentation to process this case. Currently, the file is in transit from the NVC. Due to the long delay imposed by Chinese customs, the file could take up to four months or longer to reach the Consulate. Once we receive your file, we will begin processing the case immediately and will contact you with further instructions.
It may mean that NVC made your case available for the consulate to open it in their systems, but actually the DHL hasn't delivered yet all the documents. I think it took us a week or more for the consulate to get our case via DHL. Anyways, they will contact you as soon as they receive it, just a little more patience

We have spent a total of two weeks together. 1 week in December and 1 week in January. We met online in November.
We spend about 2 hours a day on skype. I am planning another trip in June, but we want to get the paperwork started now.

There is no universal rule to relationships and their success. Our love story began the same as yours, we met on Valentine's Day 2013, filed two months later in April, got K-1 in September, got married in November and expecting a baby since December Fast span within 10 months ha? But we are happy and there was absolutely no problem with USCIS, consulate, or any other institution....Good luck!!!

You know we seem always to be unprepared and we think "it's not the right time now". That's what happened with my parents' unpreparedness, but now they never regret a second that they decided to gift me life, the most precious gift. Avoiding any subjective and prejudiced opinion, undoubtedly, it's couple's choice, it's your choice...private choice...and, indeed, USCIS has no say or care about it...it shouldn't affect AOS at final extent. Good luck
