F2aSonofLPR reacted to Mariz0528 in K1 Visa, married, but now separated. (False Domestic Violence)
@avery cates - just because someone did that to somebody you can say in general that philippines can now be called Nigeria junior. I think being in this kind of forum we should be more sensitive and careful in making comments specially when you only hear one side of the story...

F2aSonofLPR reacted to MIDUVIL in What do you like about America?
What I like is my hubby and my son, my in-laws, people are really nice, I love when they told me "good job" even when i'm sneezing (lol)- It's huge compare to my island. People are always ready to help you.
They are generous.
There are a lot of professsional opportunities.
The country is huge.
People are wonderful.
what i don't like: - I'm paying my health care, and have a deductible. I'm paying my health care, and won't go to the doctor because of my deductible.
-Everybody seems to be sick (cancer, auto-immune disease, autism...) or have a surgery (hips, ankle...). I almost never heard about all those sickness.
-The food industry (high fructose corn sirup, MSG, sucralose...).
-The medical and pharmaceutical community.
-The political system.
-The blindness or naivety of American.
-The fact that American have to pay for their health insurance (with a high deductible, and high copay), their education (and it's expensive, in my country, if they pay 100 dollar per year, they find that it's expensive.).
-The fact that a child is going to school at 5 years old (instead of 3 years old).
-No bus transportation where I'm leaving, or 1 bus twice a day to go downtown (But I'm used to it).
-A lot of people don't have a critical spirit, ( In the French system, "critical spirit" is a key word, in USA, it's more "believe us").
us=the government, the school system, the military system, the education system, the FDA, the medical system (and drugs), the credit card system (that it's for people to always stay in debt.)
What is the worse for me : it is the medical/pharmaceutical system: my 4 year old son gave his back to the psychologist because she was asking him a question, and it's considered as a severe delay.
-shyness becomes a disorder (I'm sure that one day the pharmaceutical company will find a drug.)
-bad parenting (the aftermaths on children) have different medical names, with different drugs associated.
SCARY

F2aSonofLPR reacted to Ebunoluwa in My stepdad hit me.
Sorry about the 'grumpy old man'. He sounds like he is a real trip and it's ridiculous that people excuse his behavior because of his age.
He is definitely OLD ENOUGH to know better and not too old to not be able to change.
It takes time for you to integrate and get on your feet and live by yourself and doesn't happen in a year.
Pursue your dreams of what you want to do with film / fashion but remember they may not always pan out and so have a back up education and profession that pays the bills. You have been here since 2012 and it is perfectly ok to be living as a new immigrant of 23 years of age still with your Mom and step dad under those circumstances. If he bit off more than he can chew then it is his problem.
You are already working towards the goal of being on your own and contribute $500 so I see absolutely no problem with that.
Of course it hurts emotionally more than physically when you get punched and cussed out by your step dad.
Do not argue back and never ever hit him back but calmly tell him that this is not acceptable and for him not to step over the boundary again.
Inform him that you are planning to move out as soon as you can, calmly, not with an attitude.
I have no idea why people post nonsense here about this whole thing and finding fault with you or your story. Grump head is wrong. Period.
The old fart needs to chill out before he loses your mother and dies a lonely old man.
I think it is great that you offered your help with the trees etc. and if he doesn't appreciate it then too bad. Minor accidents happen and he
totally overreacted.
Work hard, save your money and move out. Meanwhile stay out of his way and remain respectful. I totally get your frustration.

F2aSonofLPR got a reaction from JannaDavey in USC HUSBAND AND LPR WIFE COMING HOME TO PHILIPPINES TO PETITION MINOR CHILDREN
I would have the husband file an I-130 for each kid before going to the Philippines. Then enclosed a letter that you would like to expedite the case and give the reason why.

F2aSonofLPR got a reaction from derpherp in filling petition for my brother and his family is it possible? i130 ?
For Part C. 17, you write down the information of your brother. Name of his wife, and kids and indicate the relationship e.g "wife/spouse", "son/daughter". You only need a copy of your brother's birth certificate.

F2aSonofLPR reacted to Eliezer y Wendy in An "impossible" I-129F just got APPROVED! THANKS THE LORD!
It was "impossible" to get an approval according to many VJ members, lawyers, and others because we didn't meet within the two years immediately prior to the initial I-129F form. Well, we got RFE, I replied with my explanation and some documents to proof the situation I was living raising our newborn , and they APPROVED US!
I really thanks God for this approval and USCIS for understanding.

This is my timeline but these was back in 2006. Yes some AOS takes a year, but you can call the USCIS and check the status of the application.

F2aSonofLPR reacted to christeen in GC holder wants out of their marriage
It is NOT the place of anyone here on VJ to judge who and under what circumstances we will provide assistance. The OP had a question and here on VJ, we are a community that helps answer questions based on our own research and experience. To start to litmus test who deserves the advice is against the goals of this community or to preface that advice on hearing both sides is absurd. Now you personally can decide if YOU choose to offer advice or not, but to tell others not to help someone because of a Your perceived bias I believe is in violation of the intent of this website. To the OP, you have gotten some info on what direction to start your research and there are many others here that have similar situations, sorry it did not work out.
