We don't ignore it, the problem is, the light only gets shone when there is violence in a white community. Before Colorado and Sandy Hook, no one cared about Chicago. It's as if this is a way for White America to rest easy, by saying look at the urban cities, they're worse off than we are. This ensures that white people don't start fearing other white people with guns.
Just like folks ask where is Al and Jesse in this recent case of the 71 year old that killed that 13 year old. He was arrested and sentenced to the maximum time allowed in prison. There is no reason to protest when the system works the way it's supposed to for all parties involved.

The South started that war when they decided they no longer wanted to be a part of the Federal government. The issue was over states rights, largely because southern states didn't like the way the North was handling which current and future states would be able to have slaves. They knew what was on the horizon and Lincoln being elected was the tipping point. So really, if you don't want to call it the Civil war (even though that's exactly what it was considering the South was trying to take over control of a large portion of the United States) you can call it the war of Southern treason.

Unusual that you couldn't enroll her due to being outside of the open enrollment period, as usually they allow you to add for a life changing event like marriage or having a child. Otherwise everyone would be only getting married or having children in October lol.
How long after you got married did you try and add her?

I had a feeling we were going to get our NOA2 this week, and sure enough, we got our email late last night. We are both excited and relieved, and ready for all the planning to take place this fall, hopefully to have her here by the end of the year.
105 days is exactly 3 and a half months. We consider ourselves so very lucky, given that we got our NOA2 right at the tail end of CSC's massive slowdown to DACAs and weren't expecting it until October at the earliest.

Different embassies have different requirements, which is why there is confusion.
London, for example, doesn't require a copy of the entire packet during the interview because NVC will send their copy to them, but I've read that others were required to bring it with (the person I'm remembering was from India though, I believe. Definitely not Canada).
It's probably best to have a copy for safekeeping and so that you know what you included (I've had to refer to my copy of the packet a few times while reviewing forums, just to make sure I included something I should have).
I have heard of people being asked to show additional proof of relationship at the interview. In one case, they were asked for photos of the couple (this was in London). It was probably an attempted "gotcha" question, though, not something that is typically requested.
Maybe check the region-specific forums and see what people there have said?

Lol, they don't give preference to the "best" people. Your personal character has little to nothing to do with the process. You aren't approved yet because no one has looked at your packet. It is sitting in a box waiting for adjudication. Adjudication takes only 20 minutes or so, so soon someone will pick up your packet and give you either an approval or a RFE.
This is like picking a line in the grocery store. Once you enter the line things seem even, but then some lines end up going faster than others. There is a nice post from a former adjudicator in the guides somewhere.

I hope all the supportive responses here have been encouraging! I think what you're experiencing is natural. It takes time to adjust. I'm originally from the Midwest in the US but lived in the UK for 6 years - in the West Midlands - Birmingham to be exact! My American accent got noticed all the time and there were some locals there who couldn't understand me. Although I didn't adopt a British accent, I did end up changing some vocabulary and how I pronounced a few words. It really helped me fit in and feel more comfortable. I hope things get better for you soon!!
