  1. I suppose you would fear the truth is being rude but I'm just being upfront with you if your man is out having dinner with another woman and she's cooking for him i'd be a little wary especially if I didn't know she was. I'm just saying most people view American citizens is going to the backyard and pulling cash off the trees. I'm glad to see you have some ethics and view your green card has connected to your marriage and therefore if you're not married anymore you no longer need the green card because there's very few people that view that immigrate on the marriage visa into the USA. It appears to be a free-for-all or anybody get married to USA citizen. I'm just saying if you're worried about your husband I would hop a plane and get over here on a tourist visa and see him and find out what's going on. Just saying girlfriend that's all

You didn't say anything in your original post about the other woman.

Again, I AM visiting him in the US right now. I am talking with him heart to heart and finding out what is going on.

Green card is connected to marriage for me. I have told him that if I don't have him there is no reason for me to get a green card. He understands its not just about that little card. I am from Canada and in my opinion its a much nicer place than the US. I don't need a tourist visa to visit, just a Canadian passport.

OP said she is already there with him. Canadians are content in their country and not looking for a way out through a GC.

I kind of wouldn't mind living there myself, it's a beautiful place to be. I am a USC.

    Yep.

Stay strong whatever the outcome will be (F)

    Thank you for your support!
  2. Take some responsibly ...get some money together and come for a visit to USA , it's a marriage put in your fifty percent .i myself believe the USA citizen should foot no money for your green card as the visa center views marriage and green cards as two separate issues . Which is why if you come and get divorced you still get to stay here in the USA

There is no need to be rude. If you actually read any of my posts you would know that I did go visit him in the US and I am here right now. Thanks for your input.

EDIT: BTW if we do get divorced I will not be going forward with the green card. I will withdraw myself, thanks! And whatever you believe has no bearing on who pays for the petition becuase they ask for a US bank account....

Hahahaa so funny about the prophet I thought the same thing hahaaa

Buy the way make him a two inch streak for dinner he'll forget all about her ;) hehehee :pop:

Haha thanks Soloenta! You always know how to make me smile. I did cook for him tonight ;)
  3. First off I appreciate all of your replies. I wasn't expecting this thread to blow up like this. I just wanted to get it off of my chest and get some opinions from people. You are right, the distance is not what is wrong with this relationship. It is the fact that we are not trying to talk to each other and communicate. It's not just me fyi, it's him too... Some of you have been supportive and given constructive advice. Some of you have basically told me to stop being a prissy b**** princess and grow up. I understand why you say that. No one is right or wrong in this situation we just seem to have grown apart a lot and things have changed. I'm sorry to anyone that this offends. I know that you all are real advocates for marriage and would kill to be in my situation. We have mutually decided that it is a bad idea for me to come visit right now. I may regret that decision tomorrow, he may regret it too.. but right now we are just going to take this time to figure out what we want. We are still talking and we still love each other very much. We have not decided to end the relationship and we are still moving forward with the visa process. Thanks guys

  4. There is also this new woman in his life. A new co-worker. He said he met her at a work social outing to the beach a couple weeks ago. This Monday he told me that he stayed up all night texting her talking about music and religion. He also hung out with her on Tuesday. They went long boarding together and got food. He said she forgot her card so he bought her dinner. Then afterwards she went to his apartment and cooked vegan food for him. Well all of this threw up a huge red flag for me. He swears that it is all platonic and he doesn't have any feelings for her at all. I even made him ask her if she liked him romantically and to show me her reply. She said no that she doesn't think of him in that way at all. They even went out for tea after 9pm Wednesday night after church with another female co-worker. He says he told me about all this so it wouldn't turn into a huge thing later because she is an attractive woman. I just can't believe that she is not influencing his decision to end things with me right now.

  5. We are so close to the end and that is why I am so surprised that he has brought it up this time so strongly. We have had fights in the past about our issues but we always resolved it by standing by each other. This time just seems completely different. He has it set in his mind that no matter what I do to fix things it won't change. He even told me that word for word. "I love you but I sooo cant take feeling like this every day. And ive felt like this for so long. Its not ok.. and its not something you can change. I dont want to hurt you.. no. But I dont think I want this. Im asking for the simplest thing.. the entire reason ppl get married. You cant force yourself to want to be with me over your family. If you force yourself to talk to me when you dont.. its not what you want.. so it's fake. Thats what I mean.. I have thought about this so much and so long. Thats why im saying it. My expectations and wants for marriage aren't being fulfilled. Im not saying your bad im saying this isn't working."

  6. Being apart for almost a year now has completely destroyed my relationship. My husband is miserable and alone in the US and I am living with my parents. I have people around me and I have a reason to want to be happy every day. I don't want to be depressed and crying in my room all the time so I don't let myself do that. As a result we hardly communicate.

It seems we have a huge difference of opinion on what is important to us in a marriage. I don't want to get into all of the details but it seems he is leaning more toward just ending our relationship. I am supposed to go visit him tomorrow night for 4 weeks and he thinks that 4 weeks is not long enough. I know if I go to visit him we will make up but the minute I have to leave we will get into a huge fight again. I don't think we can resolve our issues properly because this distance is always going to be a huge obstacle to him.

  7. I read several messages ago that people were waiting to be able to download 2013 Federal tax transcripts. I was able to log in this morning and print them. Just an FYI. NVC received my case on May 6 and I have called weekly. Based on what I am reading it seems we are headed towards the over 30day period to received case numbers. Just like all of you all I can do in the meantime is prepare my docs and WAIT.

Thank you for posting this. My husband's 2013 tax transcript is now available online too.. Finally I can send in my AOS package :)

  8. Thanks CanGirl.

Just need to ensure sending 11 of attachment files in one email won't cause any problem.

If everything doesn't fit in one email you can break it up into multiple emails. From the Department of State for Visa Processing website: "

    1. If you have many forms and documents to send us, you might need to send more than one email for that case. As a rule of thumb, try not to send more than five megabytes (MB) of attachments with each email." - http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/submit/how-to-submit-documents-to-the-nvc.html#GroupB
  9. Good day, everyone.

I hate weekends and holidays as you do, but now the Memorial Day is almost over, and we are ready to roll again with NVC! :dancing:

Just done the DS-260, the next step is to send the AOS Packet and IV Packet once I get the EP confirmation email from NVC.

Can you check the file list of AOS & IV packet for me to ensure I have eveything that req from NVC?

    Thanks alot!

Looks good! Don't forget your I-864 forms for both petitioner and joint sponsor. I don't think petitioner has to include any kind of proof that they are an US citizen either. That was already confirmed at the USCIS stage. Also if you are not in China you don't have to wait for the confirmation email from EP. You can send your documents in and you will be automatically enrolled. (Call to confirm with NVC but that is what they told me and several other people when we called in about EP). Good luck :)

  10. Ok resubmited and not it shows "completed". I am pretty sure instructions email we received last night reversed our already completed DS261. Although, what surprised me the most was that when i clicked on "incomplete" all of the prior submitted info was already there. So all I have to do was to click next couple of time and then submit! Hope I didn't mess it up by resubmitting it...ugh..

Did you get an interview date?! :)

I really wouldn't worry as it won't cause any significant delays in your case. That's only 2 days. If it was 2 weeks I would worry.

  11. Just did a quick search on the Beneficiary ID #. It seems (or at least used) to be different from Case # and unique for each travelling companion (where there are derivative beneficiaries). I've even come across someone claiming BIN field was auto populated when he filled his form!

In any case, BINs are provided over the phone and in the IV Invoice, if I'm not mistaken.

Yes they are given if you ask (in some cases even if you don't) but I personally never used it for anything. Not on the DS-261, DS-260 or any forms or documents. On the DS-260 I put my Case # and it was accepted. The BIN is no longer needed.

  12. LOL I'm in the same boat and was about to post the same question.

Has anyone had experience visiting the states with NOA2 but before NVC stage is complete? We got the NOA2 a couple of weeks ago and it'll be at least another 90 days before the interview, so I'm curious whether anyone's ever been here while the NVC stage is pending?

    Thanks.

I visited with my NOA2 for 2 weeks. Border patrol asked me who I was visiting and I told him my husband. He asked why we were separated and I told him that I was waiting on my visa to be approved. I told him I had my approval for the initial petition and showed him my NOA2. He also wanted to see my return ticket. That was all he asked me for.

  13. A checklist was being generated for a Greek police certificate even though I had a letter in my IV husband's package explaining why it was unobtainable. When I called Shelley was very rude to me, talking over me in an authoritative way on a subject that I wasn't even asking about. Very insensitive, and she didn't try to help at all. I've gotten people who aren't willing to help me before, but never like this. By the end of the phone call I was crying and had to hang up.

So I called back and spoke to Lisa, who answered the same questions for me. After I asked about the checklist, I explained what happened with Shelley and she told me "you should never let anyone make you cry on the phone, you should have asked for a supervisor right then." So I asked if it would still be possible to speak with a supervisor, and she told me of course, that she would try to find one, but there's not always a supervisor around. (????) She found one, and when I got her on the phone she said "I'm very sorry that happened to you ma'am, that is certainly not the behavior we expect from our customer service representives." She wanted me to write a formal complaint via email. Then she initiated a supervisor review for the Greek police certificate thing -- I think she's going to personally review it as soon as she can pull my file. She made sure I was going to write the email complaint and apologized to me again. I probably talked to her for 20 minutes about my case.

I'm sorry if this sounds dramatic or over the top... I can't even explain how upset I was, and I'm not the type to have an emotional reaction over someone being rude.

You don't sound dramatic at all. I'm so glad that you called back and talked to someone else. It's about time someone said something. These customer service reps have been getting away with being rude to us for too long.

  14. Thank you CanGirl you have been very supportive for us.

I called NVC (40 min on hold) and they dont know anything about EP as its a different department. So I think I have to wait now for the stepsons Enroll Confirmation also. I'm almost ready to email everything, But I have something I am still unsure of. I hope some one here can help with this as I have spent hours looking online, on VJ and the department of states wed site and I just get more confused.

On the I-864 It allows you to also name the children In my case I have the wife and stepson. He will be traveling with his mom so It looks like I have to list him there. He is 17 years old. But he has to have his own Visa. Reading the Department of State I-864 instructions he is included on My I-864 as part of the AOS package. I have thought that there is only one AOS package to send since they are both listed on the form. But maybe I need to send the same I-864 two times? On the department of states web site, Its a tricky thing to understand.

So I have two I-864's, one from me the petitioner and my dad the joint sponser. My income now is more than enough and my dads is also. My wife has alot of money and property in china so she could alone. So I listed her bank accounts and property on both my dads I-864 and mine also. Is this a mistake to list her assests on two I-864's?

I have been so worried about this.

I put "none" in all the Blanks, rechecked the income vs tax return amounts everything I read here that trips people.

But its still not clear to me maybe I need four I-864's. one from both my dad and me for each of them?

So I'm hoping to get an answer from someone that is or has done this with a wife and child. Just dont need anymore delays.

I know that the China EP is a bit different from Canada, in that they change your case number. So since you have 2 different cases you might need to wait for both of them to be accepted and case numbers changed. Remember to send your documents in separate emails for each case.

You should only list your wife's assets on your i-864, not on your dads. I'm also not sure if you will need a separate form for your stepson. It might be determined by his age. Have you looked at the i-864w for children?

  15. Topic - EP or mailing for NVC. Which is the better option?

Hello, So i got approved with NOA2 on may 14 from NSC and I am practically ready with the AOS and IV packages already. All thanks to information i have gotten here and from Saylin's wiki page. Thanks a lot.

I am filing from Canada so I have both EP or regular mailing system for processing. I wanted to know people in NVC stage, who are submitting their AOS and IV packages, is EP better or worse than mailing documents to NVC? As per saylin's wiki page, once you submit for EP (with the email) you should submit your AOS and IV packet only after you receive confirmation from them. If that is still true, then can any of you who did enroll for EP tell me how much time it takes for them to send the confirmation? Also, is it quicker or the same. I saw the timelines on NVC spreadsheet for the past couple of months, and it didn't make much of a difference in time. Would most people say its true or my estimate is incorrect? Thank you.

Here are a few responses from the forums that may help you with your decision. It seems that we no longer have to wait for confirmation email. You can call NVC to confirm with them too before you decide. Good luck!

I confirm, I spoke to 2 different NVC agents . This is a change in their procedure, there is no need to wait for the email confirmation or electronic enrollment. Not telling you how much I worked to convince our lawyer to go ahead and submit the packages!

Just got off the phone with NVC regarding the same issue, asking what the heck happened to my ENROLL request?

They told me they STOPPED sending enrollment confirmation, and asked me to submit the documents electronically.

Apparently they are experiencing a huge load of emails, and they have changed the flow of electronic processing. The agent told me that once they receive the documents electronically, it will "implicitly" trigger your case as Electronically Processed, even if you didn't send an enrollment request.

so folks, go ahead and submit them documents. no need to wait anymore.

    cheers.

I opted for EP and I am waiting over a month for Enrollment confirmation. I called NVC last night and the representative told me "they have changed the procedures and there is no need to wait for EP enrollment confirmation" so you could send your documents right away. I suggest to call NVC and confirm that before making any decision. If is true then I suggest send it EP (safer to email than sending documents) . Just a suggestion, good luck! :)

Right now EP is optional for Canadians. Myself and one other VJ member have called to inquire about our EP confirmation emails and the operator told us both that we no longer have to wait for it. They told us just to send in our documents and we will be automatically enrolled in EP.

There have been discrepancies in the past with operators telling people different information so I would suggest that you call yourself and ask what is the best option for you. The only disadvantage I would see with snail mail is sending originals and the cost of sending packages. Good luck!

  16. 31 days now this morning I do have the EP optin confirmation for the wife that changed her GUZ number to a GZO number. Still nothing for the stepson. He will be intering with his mom. I know it the same AOS package for both of them but I'm not sure if the IV package uses the same new GZO mumber as his mom or if i still have to wait for that. Does anyone know? calling nvc now 30 min hold.

Congrats! Glad to see you got your confirmation :)

  17. Hey guys,

So I already informed Saylin about an update to the NVC site, but just a heads up to everyone: The DS-260 confirmation page is now mandatory to bring to the interview.

On the NVC website, it states, "After submitting the Form DS-260 online, print the confirmation page. You must bring the confirmation page to your visa interview."

More information can be found here as well as an example of the 260 itself: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/submit.html

For EP applicants, apparently, "If you provided the NVC with scanned copies that you submitted via email, you will be required to present the original documents at your interview, along with a photocopy of each document." I didn't know if people were already aware of this information or not, but that is found here: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/interview/prepare.html

^ If that's the case ... what's the point of EP if you have to provide original documents anyway? Doesn't that defeat the purpose or am I misinterpreting the information?

For EP we have to bring original documents and photocopies of each to the interview. This is just for the CO to verify that the documents we scanned to them are unaltered and correct. They keep the photocopies, we get to keep our originals (besides the PCC I think).

  18. Is EP mandatory for Canadians? Given how long EP seems to be taking right now, would there be any disadvantages of snail mail other than having to send originals?

Right now EP is optional for Canadians. Myself and one other VJ member have called to inquire about our EP confirmation emails and the operator told us both that we no longer have to wait for it. They told us just to send in our documents and we will be automatically enrolled in EP.

There have been discrepancies in the past with operators telling people different information so I would suggest that you call yourself and ask what is the best option for you. The only disadvantage I would see with snail mail is sending originals and the cost of sending packages. Good luck!

  19. GUUUUYYYSSSS HELP PLEASE..

I have the packages ready to go.. the only thing on the AOS my joint sponsor dsn't have the documents/ transcripts for 2011.. So neither do I or him know what he made for 2011 so I can't fill in that part in the I-864 form. we tried looking online and he's not able to access his info online..(irs blocked him for 24 hrs ) He went to our local IRS office but didn't want to be in line for 1 hour.. So my thing is this.. I'm frustraded with this whole situation already.. I have everything payed ..and all I want to know is how much did he make on 2011 .. that's it...!!!! I don't want the transcript or documents.. I just want to fill out the form... what to do?????

I would wait until he can get the correct numbers online. Waiting 1 or 2 days is better than getting a checklist later on that will cost you 30 days...

Of course he won't understand the frustration you have over having to wait but it's something that we have all gone through. I understand it sucks and makes you want to yell at him to wait in the lineup or stop screwing up on the IRS site but unfortunately you can't if you want him to cooperate with you.

If he tries again with the IRS site tell him that he needs to type in his address in the exact way that is it on his tax returns. My husband did the same thing and got blocked 24 hours too. You can do this! (F)

  20. I'm in Toronto so I called Dr. Randall Lee and they said that it is $300 and they don't give shots they only order the reports. So regardless what shots I get before the price is still the same, which seems weird to me. Yes, my doctor is quite the B! But this is what she told me. I found it super strange seeing as though in Canada these are shots we are required to get anyway.

Yah I just looked at another doctors website in Ontario and they don't give the shots either. http://www.health1stmedical.ca/#

They want to see proof before the medical that you have all the required shots. So if your doctor refuses to give you any shots I would suggest going to another clinic.
