Just checking in, only to check back out - so long, and thanks for all the fish. Life's too short to be stressing out about this place, so I'm moving on. Thanks to those of you who gave a damn, and to the rest.. eh, whatever.

I'm looking for fellow UK members, who had filed an I-130 via DCF in London recently. Reason to create this separate thread, is to give all the London CR-1/IR-1 filers, an easy way to share their experience from when they filed their petition, to the finish line Updated stories, will help everyone to be current on their process - and allow them to get "real time" fresh answers.
Lets start by getting the current timeline of receiving NOA2. I wonder by how much does the actual timeline differs from what members have received in their I-130 notice of receipt.

More long-winded, "We're never at fault" tripe from the Lead Mod.

You'd be better off getting them for free before the medical and having the records updated and printed there and then like I did. If memory serves for IR/CR1 and DCF all vaccines must be complete at the time of the medical/visa interview anyway. K1 does not, as they have to have them all complete by AOS.
DS-3025 is also not really an issue for anyone going down the IR/CR1 route, or the DCF route for those either. It's a K1 thing and that's the form you send in with AOS instead of having to go to a Civil Surgeon if you don't get all your shots done in the UK.

So as I've mentioned in another thread, Nich-Nick is currently no longer on these forums.
The reasoning for this is because about two weeks ago, she was suspended for a comment in another thread. We're not entirely sure what the offence is because the moderators are hiding behind the TOS (e.g. they won't tell me) and Nich herself disputes the warning, but cannot post to this effect until she even accepts said warning. Since then, she's said she's had enough of VJ and won't be coming back anytime soon.
Now, most of you who've been through the K1 process in the past will know who she is and how she helped you out. In the last couple of weeks, it's just been me and some of the more recent K1 successes. She's held the UK forum together alongside myself, Lost and those who have stuck around here and there to help out even after they've moved.
I'll be the first to say that my knowledge isn't as complete as hers, but that's why we pooled our resources and wrote the K1 guide. So I'll be the first to ask the following things:
*If you have new information to add to the guide about something that's changed, please post it in the Guide thread.
*If you need help, please read the guide first - if your question isn't answered, then post a new thread and ask it. If it is answered in the guide, then you'll be linked to the specific post of the guide where the answer is.

Make your opinions known. Don't let them win this. Nich is our friend and mentor. While I didn't need her help going through my London process, I needed her help in constructing the guide for everyone else to follow. And she does far more than help the UK guys - she helps out with AOS, she helps people out with their taxes. She's one of the true helpers of this site and doesn't deserve to be treated like an animal.

We've also lost Lost now, as you're aware. So out of the three of us who look after the UK forum on a daily basis, it's now just me. And if this keeps up, there will be no-one.

Although traumatic for you, this is an object lesson for every K-1 couple.
-- Get married within the 90 days.
-- File for AOS/AP/EAD as soon as possible (have the funds for the fees allocated in advance).
-- Carry the most recent documentation with you at all times:
* Within the 90 days, the passport with valid I-94 + marriage certificate.
* After marriage but before AOS NOA1, the above + copy of your AOS cover-letter (+ check).
* Then: passport, marriage certificate, AOS NOA1.
* Then: passport, mc, NOA2.
* Then: passport, mc, AP/EAD card.
* Then: green card, at all times until citizenship.
* At ROC time: 2-year green card, 1-year extension letter for it.
* Then: 10-year green card, at all times until citizenship.
CBP agents, especially within a 100-mile radius of the southern border, are bored, often in foul moods, and looking to nail someone.

She needs more than a SSN to work. Her not getting one didn't change anything. You need to file AOS and get either your GC approved or the Employment Authorization Document to work.
The fees for the AOS were known beforehand, a plannable cost.
Anyone else reading this, PLEASE be aware that a K-1 is a NON-immigrant visa, and that a K-1 has barely any more rights than a tourist. AOS is REQUIRED to live a normal life in the US. A K-1 cannot travel, cannot work, cannot get a license, cannot do much of anything. It is only a temporary thing to allow marriage and AOS.

Yes it's their site but the biggest asset of VJ is the experienced members who offer their time and expertise. If they drive off users of the calibre of Nich-Nick and lost at sea then it won't be a site worth visiting by anyone...

Is English Ryan H's first language? Is there no room for ANY ambiguity in the language you write here? I think what Nich-Nick wrote is entirely up to interpretation and could be construed both ways, I took it as a warning, not an instruction. The fact that a door was slammed down in her face over something so innocuous is incredibly insulting given her history and generosity in the amount of time she has devoted to the community on here. Her knowledge base is unequaled and VJ has really shot itself in the foot in shutting out a genuinely useful forum member while refusing to acknowledge that an inexperienced Moderator is the one that made the mistake and that he should be apologizing to her, not the other way around.
Those who think she wasn't a valuable asset to the forums is mistaken. She stood out as someone who was unfailingly calm and accurate. She will be sorely missed.

So I've just had a chat with another member of the forums and found out that someone I consider a good friend has decided to leave the forum because of a moderator decision by Ryan H. Specifically, the member leaving is Nich-Nick, a longtime helper on this site and essentially the "mother" of the UK Regional Forum.
Can someone tell me why the hell she was suspended? Because this is getting ridiculous - do you actually want people helping on this site, or not? Because your moderator just caused one of the best helpers on this site to leave, and frankly it is an absolute disgrace.
