When I submitted the facility gave me a paper with details and how to track. I was checking every day and after 7 days of submission I saw my status as received and under process for routine service etc......

    https://passportstatus.state.gov/

Enter your last name, DOB, last four digits of SSN

at the bottom enter your email and submit, it will send you an email if any update happened.

    Hi zoom123,

Can I ask when did you enter your email to get an update? Did you do it after you saw your status as "received" or you did it before that?

I still have not seen my status show up but I registered my email at the bottom of page. Not sure whether it will mess up the system

My wife received her letter online, 2 days after the status changed to "Oath Ceremony Scheduled". She received the same letter through postal mail about 4 days after.

Thank you, Russ&Caro. I'm on day 2 now.....nothing  new on my doc tab yet.

A few hours after I got an email that "an action was taken on your case" my account had the new status and the pdf letter was under the doc tab.

The case status web page did not update yet (so far 5 days).

Thank you for the info : ) It's pretty fast for your case. still waiting for mine. Hope it;s not the glitch :(

In the last couple of weeks the case status page doesn't seem to be as updated as it used to be. I got the oath ceremony notice in my online account, and I see that the snail mail letter is arriving today (through the USPS informed delivery service), yet the case status still say oath will be scheduled....

May I ask how long did it take for you to see the Oath ceremony letter in PDF after the status changed to Oath ceremony was mailed?  My status changed since last Tuesday but still nothing uploaded on my online account.

    Thank you

Yeah, I sent it with signature confirmation and someone at CSC signed for it on Aug 27th.  And when I called the customer service number they said to give it about 21 days which would be next week.  I'm hoping it will arrive this week so that I can send it back just in time before my wife's GC expires.  I read that I can file it late with an explanation.  If I go that route, I would provide the signature confirmation, the phone call to customer service and the stamped envelope by USPS that I filed on time just that I sent wrong filing fee and that it took forever to get it back.  Another route would be to just send a complete new application packet to the new lockbox address.  I'll wait until next Monday to decide what to do.

I think you have enough proof for late filing. I know it's hard to pick which option will be the best. Wish you luck and get the file back by Monday :)

Thx. The officer told us as we were walking in her office that even if i approve your case today you won't get your card soon because i can't load the information on the system since the new system is not running yet.as soon as it comes up ill. Then she said soon you will hear from me. At some point i heared her say, you will get a decision, approval, denial or if we need something from you. So that was no help. But i knew it has to be an approval, why not.i must have broken the record for time wait after an i 751 interview. 75 days. Ive not seen one case take that long, some were close, almost as long but most get approve same day, few within aweek or a month, 2 months top.(except cases with some issues). I even made a case enquiry that mentioned to them to please make a decision i don't care what it is even a denial just dont make me wait longer please. Having said all that. I promise you, you will get you approval very soon if your marriage is real. That's how its always done. This is a country of laws. If i had money and was betting man ill bet all of it on you getting updates next week. Maybe the week after if your unlucky, its your time anyway. 30 to 48days after transfer is when most people hear back. 35days after transfer for me. Don't worry about the io attitude. In my case i was called for an interview for no reason. We had ton of evidence but still we qualify and had clean case.so we got approved even after some hassle and delay.Same for you. You are eligible under 3 year rule so you will be ok. Good luck

Thank you for the information. I understand how you felt that time. Me either, I feel like I don''t want to wait whatever the decision is...please let me know...... I will keep waiting for their update. Thanks for your encouragement : )

I know.. I'm May 2017 filer from VSC and still waiting for my ROC approval. I guess it is best to wait for the approval of my ROC before applying for N-400, though my N-400 application is ready to submit online.

    which state you reside?

I live in MA. and yes, if I could turn back time I wouldn't apply for N400. It's better to wait until you get ROC done. For me, although the situation I experienced was rare but it does not worth betting your whole family life for a little bit faster process. Something might happen unexpectedly depending on IO you met. If they deny the case, it would be both cases. However, many people applied both and ended up getting citizenship without problem, which is awesome.

    Good luck to you.

Hi, you're ROC Feb 2017 filers from VSC and still waiting for the approval of your ROC?

Yes, I had combined interview with N 400 in April. I/O was very tough and not happy with applying N400 while ROC was pending. I felt like the I/O hate me for over thousand years and still hold my case.   My I 751 was transferred to NBC May 8th and I haven't heard back for anything. I actually do not expect any luck but just want to get the result :( waiting is so painful.

Hi everyone. Our case was approved today, 75 days after an interview at local office on 22nd of march. 195 days since filing to csc. Case was transfered to nbc on may 1st and then may 3rd. Heared nothing until today. They bombarded me with emails and texts just like i did to them with case enquiries. That at last its approved. Good luck to all

Congrats that your case was approved. May I asked whether the I/O said they will approve your case  right after the I751 interview?

    Thanks

  9. Filed I 751 - Feb 2017

    Filed N 400 - Jan 2018

I 751 transferred to local office in March 2018

Combo interview in April  - IO was so angry for  having 2 pending cases, super tough interview and seemed not likely to approve the case

I 751 transferred to NBC on May 8 and I got letter in mail (while got confirm from senator that case is with IO at local office and never moved)

nothing now and I am super confused!

@Pat80 Letter said about speeding up the process. But with the same letter, I had another mail that had my approval letter. So it was really strange.

@punter13thank you for the info.  My letter said the same as yours. Congrats that your I 751 was approved. Did you get status change for N400 approval too?

I think it might be their technical process when someone looks at the I 751 file after an interview. But the file is actually residing at the local office.

  11. 6 hours ago, Bill & Katya said:

The NOA notifying us of the I751 transfer to NBC said the same thing “To speed up processing”.  We received the approval NOA about four weeks later.

    Good Luck!

    Thank you Bill & Katya

I will wait for my update. I also asked my senator to follow up on the case. It’s wierd that they just got confirmation this evening from my local office that the case is assigned to an officer and still there and not to NBC. I’m confused with the process. Why I got the transfer letter in mail that case was transferred to NBC despite no actual transfer 😕

I had pretty strange experience. I had combo interview with name change request (wife’s presence was not needed) on 04/11 and was told that my I-751 is being approved. 2 weeks went past and no change in my application status. So I raised service request online and at the same time booked infopass appointment for 05/08. After one week someone was assigned on my service request and got the response via email that my case is still under review :bonk:. Anyway I still attended infopass appointment on 05/08 to see what is going on. I was told that some background checks were still pending on my both applications:ranting: (I still have a hard time to fathom that!). Guess what, on same day evening I started getting flurry of text/email I-751 notifications that my case is being transferred and new office has jurisdiction. I was really confused as to why my I-751 file is being moved out to new office from local office. But finally on Saturday I had two mails came together from USCIS (Potomac and NBC). Potomac mail (Notice date is 05/08) said that my I-751 is being moved to NBC. While NBC mail (Notice date is 05/09) said that my I-751 is approved! I checked the notice date for both mails. There was only one day difference.  So USCIS just adjudicated my application within one day of transfer notification?? Certainly not if you ask me. I believe local field office adjudicated my application but must have asked NBC to send out the decision letter. So you @Bill & Katya should get your decision soon enough too!

@Ozgirl1981  My guess is that Potomac service center already adjudicated your application and now asking NBC to issue a decision letter. Certainly it is a whole lot different game when I-751 is pending with N-400 unfortunately. Very hard to predict anything.... I hope you get your decision before N-400 interview!

@punter13 May I ask what was mentioned on the letter for the reason of transferring to NBC? I received the letter from  Potomac about the transfer to NBC 2 weeks ago but not heard back for any update yet.

    Thank you

Thanks.  We never received a notice regarding the I751 interview, but based on what I have read here, I suspected they may conduct an interview for the I751 when my wife had her N400 interview so I made sure I was able to attend.  After we received the notice of the I751 being transferred to NBC, it was about four weeks before we received the approval notice.

    Hi Bill & Katya,

    Congrats for your oath ceremony.

I have problems with my 751 interview and then they sent the case to NBC after 3 weeks. May I ask what was mentioned on your letter for the reason of transfer? Mine said "for speed up processing" I am so curious about my situation.

    Thanks so much in advance.

Don't you worry everything would be fine. Some IO are very rude and unethical. They will review your case and you have full rights like anyone else in this country. Don't jump to the conclusion my friend it's too early and doesn't fear anything if you are on the right path. You can file a complaint online. I am positive everything will be fine. People in authority abuse their power on many occasions but it's not that easy to crush someone under their feet. You can report USCIS employee misconduct, I have attached the link.

    https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/report-uscis-misconduct/report-uscis-employee-misconduct

Thank you, @Name O Boy, I am thinking about it. I looked back on the bank statement I sent and I thought the IO misunderstood about the balance. She might think I put in 27K in total one time then kept asking how can I get that money? The money is actually accumulated balance from several deposit over years. Otherwise I did no see the reason for asking this. It's not something weird for having saving account.

Well lets they are upset if @Pat80 goes ahead with the complaint. They rightly deserve to have a complaint against them, bad day or no bad day, its just cruel what they did.

2 hours ago, Mad rabbit said:

@Pat80so sorry that you have to go through this :( I understand what you feel.  I had kind of bad experience with my first interview back in 2014 when I just applied for first GC. Officer was asking silly questions, he interviewed me and my husband separate and it lasted for more than 2 hours. Maybe because we were very different (racial) and didn’t know each other for too long before we got married. They even came to our home and asked my husband where I keep my dirty underwear. And I had to wait for over a year to get approved while other couples got approved in 4-6 months.

I truly hope you will be approved and will forget all this stuff like a nightmare.

Good luck to everyone on their immigration path.

@shell20 Thank you Shell. Thanks for everything. I would think about it. I'm afraid that IO would reject my case if I complain.

@Mad rabbit   Yes, it's bad feeling. We've known each other for 17 years since I graduated. We don't want to be separated any more. Thank you for your encouragement :)

Oh my goodness. I am so sorry for you! This is a disaster, and I am now sincerely worried for my wife's interview. Last time we were at the USCIS in Boston, the officer was not exactly nice at all. I really hope this will get turned around for you. I am sure you will not get deported, but it may be time to get a lawyer...

I’m so depressed now and so sad seeing my husband crying. The IO said she might make the decision in 3 months or 3 years.

Please be prepared well like stroke interview. Good luck to you.

  16. I went to combo interview today and it is the worst day of my life. N 400 interview went well. And the IO then did the ROC interview. She blamed me for N 400 filing which force her to make decision on ROC. She asked me a lot of questions and some  that I have never expected like address of my landlord, the source of money from joint account. She asked why we have much money only (27k) while my husband got 30K a year. I told her that he keep it for years and did not spend much money. I actually did not understand what she wanted. She then called my husband and ask, he replied that it’s joint account and we keep it together. The IO said one of us lied. And then sent me back home said that she’s not satisfied and it’s money laundering. We did not answered wrong or lie but it’s our money we keep for long time. I don’t know what to say to make her happy.

If I got deported, we both would go back my country. No more hope for this country :(

Way to go Pat80.  Im glad you contacted your senator, hope they pestered and pestered the USCIS about your ROC and say its not acceptable the long wait time. Not long to your interview, so happy for you and please let us know how you got on.  Interesting also to know it has been transferred to your local office. :)

    Thanks a lot, Shell :)

yes, this is interesting as I saw many cases were not transferred despite we received "transferred" message from USCIS. They might just actually transfer it when my senator asked

    Hi Pat80,

We did get the case transfer notice, several times, so many times in fact that it is now hard to recall when the first time was. It was somewhere around that time though. I also hope it will be a joint interview. Please let us know how it goes for you! Best of luck!

Sure, will let you know how it goes (still curious why it's on Boston Marathorn day but the office is not closed?)

    Thank you!

Wow, lots has changed. Life got in the way, and I wasn't able to keep up with the thread for a while.

Anyhow, my wife was scheduled for her N-400 interview here in our Boston office on May 4th. Guessing it will be a joint interview, since there is absolutely no progress on the removal of conditions front. As I mentioned before my wife got her passport stamped with an extension for 1 year (about 1 month ago).

    Hi Camtor,

I am getting an N400 interview at Boston Office as yours on April 16th. Did you also get "the case transfer to local office" message on March 4th?

I contacted my senator last week and they just confirmed that my pending 751 is at Boston office. It's not at VSC as I thought. Hopefully it would be a joint interview. I will keep you update.

    Good Luck!

    Hello everyone.

I had my interview today and passed. Having a pending ROC didn't phase the officer at all. He had a physical copy of my application and said he had already requested that CSC 'port' over the case to him digitally so he could approve it. He said the N400 couldn't be approved without first approving the I-751 but it should only take a few days. I expect my online status will change by the end of the week but will let you know.

Congrats Soapface. I wish you get all the approvals soon this week.

I am in the same situation as yours. Can I ask if you prepared any docs regarding I 751 to your citizenship interview? And what did you bring for the interview?

    Thanks in advance!
