ainsn got a reaction from SalishSea in F2A PD June 2018: Still no interview
All three of them were first DQ'd February 3, 2021.

I've been getting the same update ("documentarily complete/qualified + waiting for an interview slot") since then. The latest was a couple of weeks ago.

Yesterday my husband received his interview date for January 21, 2021 in Manhattan, NY. Good luck to everyone with upcoming interviews!

Wow, I haven't been on VJ since our CR1 process 5 years ago! In a weird way, it feels great to be back. I just mailed out my husband's N-400 today! Good luck to everyone. 😊

I didn't say it was an excuse, I stated that only willful lack of registration prevents you from naturalising, which is the case (this is specifically stated in the N-400 document checklist).
For the average man who was unaware they were required to register and are now past the age where they can do so, they will still be able to naturalise. You just have to wait until you are 31 (if filing under the 5 year rule) or 29 (if filing under the three year rule as the spouse of a US citizen), since lack of SS registration usually causes you to fail the good moral character portion.

I wish I could get it all together by tomorrow! Hopefully this weekend.

I do have a question for you guys: my husband came to the US when he was 25, he is now 28. We thought he was automatically registered for the selective service when he applied for LPR status, but apparently that's not how it works. We've requested a Status Information Letter from the Selective Service and we'll include our own separate letter in our packet explaining the misunderstanding -- is this enough? How common is it for men to have their applications denied due to failure to register for the Selective Service?

ainsn got a reaction from shay112 in G-325A ( can we scan it for beneficiary lives outside the US)
I did the same thing for my husband's G325A last year, so it still works. I signed my (petitioner) name and in the same signature box I wrote "husband will sign at consulate'. USCIS accepted it without an RFE. A scanned signature would probably work too.

Thank you so much for your detailed explanation of the USMLE process for FMGs. My husband is finishing up his internship year (he'll be done in June) in Bangladesh, after which we're planing to take on the USMLE full on. For now we're just trying to prep for it and learn more about what he needs to do in the upcoming year or so. What would you advise we do at this stage in the game? Should he take his TOEFL before coming to the states? What kind of paperwork should he get together before he arrives in America so he can hit the ground running in relation to the USMLE process?
The good thing for us is that his first choice is family medicine or pediatrics, which already isn't as competitive as other specialties.

It's absolutely ridiculous how long it's taking VSC to process July petitions. Check out the graph to the right of Igor's list. It's like July is in a black hole. My question is: why bother transferring applications received after August 15 by VSC to another service center if VSC isn't going to go through what they're left with any faster?!
