  1. Dwheels76 I am so confused and I am feeling overwhelmed. I went to the PDF for Senegal to see what documents they needs and all they ask is for the originals of all required documents but I don't understand how the P4 list correlates to this list. We have the original civil documents but things such as the petitioners marriage certificate ( I was previously married are they asking for that marriage certificate?) also the military records and adoption records there are none of those. I am thinking I am creating a mountain here.

    REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

At the time of your appointment at the U.S. Embassy in Dakar, you must bring with you originals of all of the required documents. The original of each document must be furnished for each applicant regardless of age, including babies. If you wish to have the originals of your documents returned, you must also submit one photocopy of each original document. If you do not provide photocopies at the time of your visa interview, your originals will not/not be returned.

It is your responsibility to document or correct any biographic discrepancies such as your name in your passport or birth certificate. All corrections must be made before your immigrant visa interview. Failure to do this will significantly delay processing of your immigrant visa.

ESTABLISHING YOUR RELATIONSHIP TO THE PETITIONER

At the time of the visa interview, you must establish your relationship to the person who petitioned for your immigrant visa. You will be asked to present secondary evidence of this relationship, such as photographs, letters, money transfer receipts, and phone records. Please bring photographs of you with the petitioner over time and other types of evidence with you to the interview. If your relationship cannot be established at the time of the visa interview, processing your immigrant visa may be delayed while the U.S. Embassy confirms your relationship.

  2. Has your husband ever lived in Senegal since the age of 16 years old? Did you list Senegal on the DS-260 as a place he has lived?

No not at all only 2 places were listed on the DS-260 that was Nigeria and The Gambia. When we received the document letter from the NVC they listed we needed a Senegal police report. I immediately called the NVC and told them my husband has only lived in Nigeria and The Gambia, not Senegal. The representative told me to send the Gambia police report and Nigeria police report. Since his interview is in Senegal should we get it anyways?

  3. Also my husband doesn't live in Senegal. Why do we need to get a police certificate. Please someone explain to me I have tried to understand the legend.

You must bring the following items to the visa interview:

    · Any original documents the NVC requested that you did not submit (refer to the document list below)

    · If the physician gives you your medical exam results, bring them to your interview in the envelope sealed by the medical office.

    · Two passport photographs measuring 2 inches by 2 inches (5 cm by 5 cm) with a white background

    · A valid unexpired passport

    · Photocopies of all civil documents

    · A new police certificate from your current country of residence, if you obtained the police certificate more than one year ago.

    · Any additional documents listed in the U.S. Embassy or Consulate specific interview guidelines

The following table lists the documents requested by the NVC and whether or not you submitted them to the NVC. Please note that even though you may have provided the NVC with a copy of a document, you are still required to bring the original document to the visa interview.

  5. Wow I am so sorry after 11 months of being on AP that they sent your petition back to the USCIS. Normally when the petition and file is sent back to the USCIS, it means some where there was a denial and the Embassy has sent it back to confirm a denial. After the USCIS receives the file back they send the petitioner a letter explaining why the petition was denied. You will have the opportunity to appeal the decision. Or you and your fiancé can get married and do the CR1 visa. I am terribly sorry for you guys.

  6. Okay so I have the IIN now the message is this I believe this is normal at first. I just need clarification that my thought is correct.
