  1. So like others here, i've taken to checking my case number on the USCIS website regularly, as well as those case numbers around me. I kind of got sick and tired of manuallly doing this, so I created a script to do it for me. :clock: What else am I going to do with my time while waiting for USCIS to get into gear?

For those technically minded I will have the code below, so you can modify it and run it yourself.

The output of the script looks like this (by the way that is just an example case number i'm using):

    root@lappy:~# ./checkI-130.sh LIN1490053940 15

    [*] Receipt number: LIN1490053940

    [*] + / - Range: 15

    [*] Lower bounds: LIN1490053925

    [*] Upper bounds: LIN1490053955

    Code is attached. :D

I'm sure that someone could have made a simpler bit of code using perl / python, but I stuck with bash as I was having

fun. Oh and before someone asks, as I basically made this for myself, I'm not planning on doing any up keep on the code. It is provided "as-is".

Hot damn I wish I had this when I started on Monday doing it manually blows!!!!! These sequence of numbers look like some I have tracked.

  2. Okay so this immigration stuff has drove me completely crazy I believe. Most of us check so many numbers before us and so many after our number. I have been watching these same numbers since Monday. I am currently watching 167 numbers before me and 138 numbers after me a total of 305 numbers. Believe me it takes about 3 1/2 hours to check all the numbers. Mind you 288 of the numbers I am watching all have my same priority date of 10/29/2013. Anyways this is what I have saw in just my few days, 6 of these numbers after my number were approved on 4/8/2014 and 2 numbers had their ARN changed. On 4/9/2014 4 people had RFE's and 1 number had an RFE in December 2013 that showed today a post decision approved 4/9/2014. In all yes USCIS employees are skipping around there is nothing in order at all.

Let me clarify the numbers before me and after me that has been approved or have RFE's are in a big gap from my number.

  4. I understand completely, my friends ask ever so often how is it going with your husband. The same answer all the time it feels like forever. Not to mention my mothers text asking me often is he coming in June or July? I always think to myself or at least stay positive to my mother in hopes she is having an intuition that I am unware of. Its hard to explain the USCIS process when it only makes me more anxious.

  5. Although I'm still waiting for my darn NOA2, I'm thinking ahead because I got bored of waiting. LOL :jest:

I'm hearing there is a backlog at NVC (although it's got better compared to 1-2 months ago), and it's still taking about a month to receive a case number so I have a feeling most of us will be processed around the same time at NVC. Getting NOA2 1-2 weeks sooner or later may not make much difference. :star:

If you're finding yourself checking https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard.do 50 times a day  , you may want to read the following links instead:

    http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process

    http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/approved.html

I giggled because I am one of those folks who look 50 x's a day it seems. I give up ever so often and read about the NVC stage, then I get confused and go back to checking all the numbers in front of me to see if we may be close to our NOA2. Come On Nebraska!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. Your formula and estimation is great! But they actually did about 23 from the 17th-20th. It's better to look at the VJ timelines with the filter set to "transfer: nebraska" the spreadsheets aren't as up to date I think, or some people aren't participating.

How many weeks do you think then, with the number of last weeks approvals which is 23?

you are correct that people aren't participating in updating. I have went threw and clicked on the names that show they still haven't gotten an NOA2. On some people they have been approved and on others and RFE. Although I have seen only a few saying they still haven't been approved.

  7. NOA 1 (e-mail, text, and hard copy) was the last, and only thing I got from the USCIS ... and that was about a week or so after filing (October 2013)

Never got notification on any transfer activity whatsoever...

Never saw anything regarding transfer activity of our case online either.

Randomly checked our case status yesterday, which I do just about only once a month, and found that it was approved (NOA 2: March 20th). Currently overseas for about another week so I won't get the hard copy until I get back to the States.

Just passing on the good word.
