Oh God! What a beautiful day! I even don't know where do I start lol
I was scheduled for my interview at 830, so came in at 815, at 825 was called by the officer, the officer was extremely nice, asked me 6 questions, then asked me to read "where is the white house" and to write the white house is in Washington DC. Then went over my n400, at 835 he told me congratulations, please wait in the waiting room, at 9 exactly my name was called by another officer who was holding my naturalization certificate in his hand, so he took me into a room and read the oath, I repeated after him the full oath, then he gave me my certificate, said congratulations and took me outside, I left the building at 9 10, then I ran to DMV and upgraded my real ID driver's license to enhanced driver's license for US citizens only (I maid an appointment for it online a week ago) then I ran to the passport agency and apply for a first time passport, it will be ready in 15 minutes, (made an appointment by phone by waiting over 3 hours on the line 2 weeks ago)
So this is pretty much it
Guys! I truly hope from the bottom of my heart that all of you will get your certificates soon! I wish luck to each of you! Please text me or call me at any time if you have any questions, I'm always here to help as much as I can!!!

N400-2011, it was great meeting you too. Regarding your question where was everyone, good question, people didn't bother to call me to say why they could not make it .
I have a crazy/busy schedule and to attend all people asking to meet me up then I scheduled one day to meet all girls. I can't go every Saturday to NYC to meet each one,I live in Nj. Anajnic and Faithkeeper were the only girls that told me in advance they could not make it and I understood them, but it seems some people just do not have respect for others people time, but it was great going to the City because I was able to meet you.I hope to see you soon.

We were told at one point that our file was going to be transferred to our local field office, which is Salt Lake City, Utah. Today the USCIS time line for the Salt Lake office says it is processing AOS applications from 21st November 2012. If our case was transferred, we would have been approved quite some time ago.
In reality, our case was not transferred. It stayed at the NBC until our approval yesterday.
In my opinion, I think this is what is happening with a lot of our cases. Congressmen, Ombudsmen, infopass staff and USCIS call centre staff can only advise you based on the information they are given, and that is very little from what I can tell. We received a letter a little while ago saying our case needed additional review and to expect a response within 9 months. That, of course, is not an accurate letter. It simply meant they wanted us to stop making enquiries on our case - likely because they know they are behind and they're getting far too many enquiries than they can handle. I personally think that this is why they're not giving a processing time for the NBC. There's too many cases to keep an accurate track of.
As it was explained to me in the early stages of our K1/I-129F application, each USCIS staff member is given a pile of cases which is ordered from oldest to newest. They start with the oldest and work their way through. E.g. Person A might receive a pile that starts from a filing date August 1st to October 1st. Person B might receive a pile that starts from a filing date October 1st to November 1st. Obviously Person B's October 1st file would be approved before Person A's October 1st file because of where it is in their pile.
Patience is hard. I've certainly gotten frustrated more than once about the lengthy time it has taken to check off our documents and order a card to be printed. I'm not immune to complaining about this awful process and the USCIS. But rest assured everyone's case is in someone's pile and will be reviewed - Hopefully sooner rather than later.
    Good luck everyone!!!

Take one out on both of you's, and make each other the beneficiary......... Good Life insurance, cheap, and shows you care about each other if one
passes away...... The polcies will show the beneficary of your policy and hers too.... Good evidence for USCIS......

I have to ask something here please do not contact me to help if you are concern about your abuser reputation.I receive hundreds of emails per month and those women and men are willing to do what it takes to get out of the abusive relationship including filing police report and restraining order against the abuser. I get upset after reading emails with 5,6pages and the person asks me " i dont want to do anything against him because he my lose his job" or " I dont want they arrest him",well I am an advocate for victims of domestic violence i don't give a damn about the abuser reputation or if he will lose his job etc...It's not your fault the abuse inflicted upon you, but it's your responsability to remove yourself from a poison relationship and keep you and your children safe.I am not willing to help anyone who is concern about the well being of their abusers...hell no! Abusers are the scum of our society.

I read this at an Immigration website. It was written by an Immigration Lawyer:
    NBC Processing Times

NBC Processing Times is a bit of a misnomer in some cases, as NBC does not determine processing times for I-485 and N-400 applications, which constitute the majority of the NBC’s workload. NBC does not determine processing times for those case types because NBC does not conduct final adjudication of those cases–a USCIS Local Field Office does. So each Local USCIS Field Office determines processing times for Form I-485 and Form N-400 applications. For processing times on N-400 and I-485 applications, please check local USCIS Field Office processing times

    NBC Workload and Procedure
The NBC’s largest workload is Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status (the final step in the Green Card process for those who are not filing for Immigrant Visa Processing at a US Consulate overseas), and the Form N-400 Application for Naturalization. These two applications are estimated to reach well over a million cases in FY-2012.
In the Form I-485 process, an applicant must provide all initial evidence before s/he can be scheduled for interview at a local USCIS Field Office. If evidence is missing, the NBC will issue a Request for Evidence (RFE). An RFE places a hold on the I-485 application, as well as the associated applications filed with it (for example, Form I-130, Form I-765, Form I-131) until NBC receives the missing initial evidence. Missing evidence will not delay N-400 processing at the NBC. But if the missing evidence is not provided at the time of the N-400 naturalization interview in the local USCIS Field Office, the adjudication of the N-400 may be delayed, or the N-400 may be denied.

    Contacting NBC
If you need to contact NBC regarding your case, please call the National Customer Service Center (NCSC) at 1-800-375-5283. The representative taking your call will send an electronic message to NBC that will be answered within 15 days. Expedite requests, for certain applications, are answered within 5 days.

    ---
    My Take
For what I have read, the no-interview applications sit at NBC until the field office gets around to it to complete the job or do the final adjudication. If you have not received an RFE, which happens shortly, such as within a month after submitting the package or have been designated for an interview, your best bet is that your stuff is at a nice dusty cabinet at NBC. Calling ain't going to make a difference, because everyone is being told the same thing, "Wait". There are folks here at VisaJourney who are at the 11 month waiting.

"NBC does not determine processing times for I-485 and N-400 applications, which constitute the majority of the NBC’s workload. NBC does not determine processing times for those case types because NBC does not conduct final adjudication of those cases–a USCIS Local Field Office does. So each Local USCIS Field Office determines processing times for Form I-485 "

Yesterday I posted some information(vawa part 3)but today this new thread was opened then I am posting here again some information regarding Vawa , because every day we have new victims entering in the Vawa thread.
Every week I receive hundreds of emails. I am member of other sites as well, and I will try to answer here some frequent questions and provide some information.
If you were victim of mental abuse you MUST submit a psychological evaluation. Shelters can provide counseling, but counselor cannot diagnose you or perform a psychological evaluation, since they are not psychologist. The counselor letter will help your case, but the psychological evaluation will increase a lot your chance to have your case approved if you are diagnosed with severe depression and/or pos traumatic disorder and/or anxiety. Ask the psychologist to mention diagnose, number of sessions, duration of each session, treatment recommended, evolution of the treatment and if you have any referral to see a doctor.
When you have your Vawa case denied you have the option to file an appeal or submit a motion,it depends of each decision. If your case has to go to the Appeal to the Federal Circuit Courts and you submitted your appeal to the 2nd or 9th Circuits they will review your case based in domestic violence/extreme cruelty, but if you are in the 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th, or 10th, the Federal Circuit Court CANNOT review the decision issued by an immigration judge or the BIA because the “extreme cruelty” is considered a discretionary factor, and they consider that can only be decided by the immigration judge and the BIA. Many people in deportation proceedings filing Vawa Cancelation of Removal asked me how can I prove hardship? ( the alien must prove extreme abuse and hardship), well you can establish hardship by proving that your recovery from abuse would be jeopardized if deported, or proving the abuser threatened to track the victim down in her/his home Country if she/he leave the U.S, and proving you maintain a protection order in the U.S. against the abuser. Many people do not mention some circumstances of the verbal abuse, because they don't know if it's abuse or not.Berating your ethnicity;threatening to report you with allegations that you married for immigration papers, forcing you to work without work permit, threatening to turn you in because of your immigration status, threatening to take your kids away all these circumstances are considered mental abuse. When writing your affidavit you MUST describe the courtship. I saw hundreds of RFEs because the individuals failed to describe the courtship they need to know if you got married to get papers or for love, and they will be able to find out about that when they know the circumstance that lead you to got married. Every time you submit affidavits from your friends they MUST state their full name, place of birth, date of birth, present address and contact number. Your friends must inform when they met you first time and where, last time they saw you or heard about you etc. I know many people here did not submit their Vawa case and others are still living with their spouses, then here is what we use to say to all victims of domestic violence or victims of mental abuse: - take pictures of the house if the abuser broke or destroyed some stuff in the house; -take pictures if you have some visible injuries; -go to the hospital TODAY IF YOU WERE BATTERED or if you feel suicidal or depressed. Any hospital will admit you for consultation even if you can't afford to pay them, after receiving the bill you can apply for "charity" with the hospital; -call 911 if you are battered or feel threatened. Do not worry they won't "deport" you! ; -If you are suffering domestic violence or you are being mentally abused call Domestic violence hotline and ask them a shelter where you can stay, -when leaving the house take with you ALL your documents and children's documents as well. Leave just a brief note saying "I left",in order for your husband to know that you were not kidnapped, and not to call the cops and put everyone searching for you and your kids. Do not mention with neighborhoods or his friends that you are moving to a shelter; - DO NOT ANSWER the abuser phone calls after leaving him/her or his/her family phone calls, tell your family not to disclose with him/her where you are living, -delete him/her from facebook , change your facebook/email passwords; -as soon you leave your house go to the family Court to file for child's custody; -if you are moving to a shelter take just 1 suitcase per person; -do not leave your house if the abuser is there, try to leave when he is not at home,of course if you call 911 you can leave the house because the cops will be there; -If you don't have any money or food find a "salvation army" place they will be able to help you out, specially those with police report; Be safe!

har143 proving that you were subjected to domestic violence or mental abuse is not enough to have a Vawa approved, you must proof bonafide marriage, and as you said you don;t have any bills, joint bank account, joint tax return then they won't approve your case without proving bonafide marriage. We have in the thread vawa part 3 several women and they had a child with their husband and despite that they have their Vawa denied. Without proof of commingling finances and commune residence your chances are almost non existent.Good luck.

CASE2011 UScis can inquire employers, friends, and landlords of Vawa filers about bonafide marriage. They cannot inquire anyone about the abuse and THEY CANNOT INQUIRE THE ABUSER, not even to confirm bonafide marriage. I saw them contacting landlords, friends and employers SEVERAL times about bonafide marriage. They just mention they are Uscis officers that's all. It's prohibited to disclose any information about VAWA cases , they do not mention they are from Vawa Unit or even mention the Vawa word.

If you will file based in abuse you do not need a divorce decree, but you need to have substantial proof showing you were battered or subjected to extreme cruelty. When waiting adjudication of your case your divorce is finalized you don't have to submit the divorce decree since it's not mandatory to have a divorce decree filing I-751 based in DV.
You can file divorce based in abuse as well, it's up to you and if you State allows that. It's not mandatory to have a divorce finalized in abuse since you don't need to be divorced to file Vawa as I said before.
