That is why I suggest looking for a battered women's shelter so that they can help you to take the next step. You do not need his permission to apply for a divorce in California and can do so whenever you choose. If you have been married less than 5 years and have no children you can look into a Summary Dissolution of marriage here: http://www.courts.ca.gov/1241.htm
He cannot force you to stay in a marriage that you are unhappy in and if he is physically abusing you then you should look into a restraining order on him to protect yourself. Do some digging in the website that I included the link to above. Your state is listed as California so that is the information I am giving you, please let me know if that is not correct.

From what you have written, I would divorce and move on. It doesn't sound like the healthiest of situations for you to be in and you sound unhappy from what you wrote. I don't know all the technicalities of what you next steps would be but if he is "putting his hands on" you, you should look for a battered women's center and look into getting some help before the situation escalates any further. Good luck!

pregnancy is not a reason for expedite, never has been. You can try for expedite or contacting a senator, but it won;t get you anywhere. people here are just being honest, there is no reason to name call or be upset with people telling it like it is.

Completely agree but it's like giving someone false hope.By all means she can try it, but I don't want someone to think their process could be quicker and be let down.
This is why I don't wrap this process in bubble wrap, it's hard enough already without being given false hope.
Unless her case has something else to it, it is highly unlikely that the senator can help unless it's longer process than average.
We all want/wanted to be with our loves quicker but sometimes you just have to sit down and breathe.
Being pregnant and without your love is emotional and even harder, but it won't make a difference to the process and being able to accept it will make it easier. You can focus on all the other stuff that is yet to come instead of praying every day that your case will be faster.
In most cases the approval comes when you least expect it.
To the person who called me an ### I'd also like to add that as an adult I tend to not jump on people in a forum straight away like you.
We are all in the same boat, all trying to stay strong over the way we as legals are treated and do not need people who cannot read what is written in a logical sense battling with each other.

    Hi there,
    1. I was able to list my husband's name on the cell phone line that is his, you may try to do that. I am unsure if all providers work the same way, but Verizon did allow for that. Also, I had some trouble getting my husband's name added to some of our bills without a social security number so you may want to reach out to the companies that you use and see which ones are willing to add you to the bill and which require you to have a social security number first.
Would your husband be able to add you as a user to any of his credit cards? You could do that without a social and it shows proof that you have combined assets.
Maybe someone more knowledgeable can answer the rest of your questions...

    Hi Regan,
If they are asking you to list all your children then that is what they want you to do. My son also has a consular report of birth abroad and is a US citizen but I still listed him because that is what they are asking for. I left the A# blank because as you stated, the child doesn't have an alien # since he/she is a US citizen. You are not going to mess anything up by giving them too much information so definitely include your daughter's info.
As for part 5, if you do not have any disabilities that require the types of assistance that they are referring to then you would check "No" in each of the three boxes.
    Good luck!

Politically correct feminist posturing in America is to denigrate traditional values with malicious terms and most especially the sneering derision about women who want to be wives and home makers. No choice is better than any other in a free country, I just hate to see how nasty feminist-correct propaganda is with their hypocritical mocking of traditional values. So you want to have a career and pursue your own interests until 40? No problem. Just don't be nasty about women who choose otherwise, and pretend there is something wrong with them.
The way they do it is attack the man and say "you just want a submissive maid". It is the person uttering that phrase that is trying to dehumanize wives/home-makers/mothers, not the husband. A guy like me thanks his lucky stars every morning, noon, and night that he has his babe back in the cabin in case a half ton log crushes him today out in the woods. Nobody can even find me if I get hurt besides my wife. This lifestyle is impossible without traditional values. So for us it not only works but is imperative and whose business is it but ours? It is an hour each way to town so she bakes cookies instead of zipping out to buy them in a car. We have more than a hundred pounds of rice and flour each, a quarter ton of various meats. Etc. We don't go anywhere except as a family for months at a time.
Occasionally I start to clean a dish or put something away and my wife chases me away. What are you doing?! I suppose if she went out and started welding stuff in the shop I'd chase her off too. So I understand where you are coming from. It stands to reason that with traditional values held in such contempt for the women that conversely the men aren't going to show much either. Both my wife and I were so thrilled when we met each other, and it came down to traditional values, namely we have two kids we are raising, homeschooling, the husband working the subsistence/homesteader lifestyle.

MichonandRuben reacted to Jamie & Izzy in Interview Advice: BRING EVERYTHING!
Very good advice - we have three 2" ringbinders full of material - one has copies of everything we have submitted to USCIS and NVC, the second has every kind of relationship evidence we could think of (including photos, boarding cards, etc., from all our visits), and the third has everything they asked us to being to the interview, an updated AOS form and supporting documents, and anything else we have heard that they sometimes as to see up front.

Just keep in mind, you could always get some jerk who is having a bad day and decides to delay you over something trivial. So bring absolutly everything - bury them in documentation. Don't give them the slightest chance of finding anything lacking.

Although many have commented thus far....I don't see why not be happy with the 6 month visa..you get to wait together and won't have to be separated. My husband and I have had to wait 8 months for visa approval and having seen each other a total of 1.5 years prior to marriage......you should count your blessings, in my opinion, that you get to wait it out together instead of trying to further exploit the system.
    Good luck either way.

I would agree with being sure this is what she wants and asking her what her intentions would be. She will be the one who is interviewed should the k1 visa be approved here and forwarded to the consulate in her country. Also you will have to meet her within the last two years and prove it for the K1 petition.

Robert! Look at the dang form. It has 3 blanks asking for dollar amounts from the 3 latest returns. They will know the amounts whether you mail in three tax returns or not.
2011 tax return, Paystubbs since May 2012 and a letter from her employer sounds like a good plan. Also use the money you brought over in the assets part. It counts if you feel she's a wee bit short.

MichonandRuben reacted to Nich-Nick in I-693 or DS-3025
    To Dave H
Any ol' DS-3025 may not be acceptable. They'll give you a DS-3025 whether you got the required shots needed for AOS or not. Some doctors fail to sign them. Some fail to complete the results section. I will say Knightsbridge clinic is very good at ticking the right boxes and signing if you got your shots and told them you had chickenpox.
There are certain things your DS-3025 should have to be considered complete.
Look at your DS-3025. If it has the following items, you don't need an I-693.
    1. Shots marked (at least one of a series)
    MMR
Td or Tdap or DT or DTP or DtaP (date no longer than 10 years ago)
Varicella or VH written by it if you had chickenpox

    2. Everything else marked not age appropriate or medically appropriate.
    3. RESULTS section filled in with "incomplete". AND "may be eligible for blanket waiver"
    4. Signed and dated by the doctor
If it's not completed like that then see a civil surgeon for the I-693. If it is complete, send a photocopy of your DS-3025.
Do NOT do what UK person ECWilloughby did recently and send in an I-693 without a doctor's part filled in along with the DS-3025. Do one form or the other.
The USCIS is supposed to have your medical files, but sometimes lose them or fail to match them up with your AOS. Do not get another exam unless you get an RFE that says they do not have results of your medical. It means they lost them, but you are probably stuck with paying for a new exam. Your official vaccination results are also part of that file. We send the DS-3025 photocopy more to remind the person opening the mail that we are intending to use that DS3025 to prove our vaccinations, rather than an I-693. The official "sealed" version is in you A-file (brown envelope) which they are supposed to get and match up with your AOS.
The DS3025 has to have all those things, not just some of them. Incomplete is fine if the box about blanket waiver is also ticked.

It is better to know too much than not enough. I didn't know that those consequences could arise from that mistake and I am happy to know now. So thanks for sharing that bit so that some of us could learn.
