  1. i absolutely want to be honest, just making sure the questions apply to me.

    Verbatim,

    14. If you are a lawful permanent resident alien, answer the following
Date and place for or adjustment to LPR and class of admission ______

Planning to leave 14 blank because i am not an LPR alien as of right now and the question is clearly in the present tense.

14b. Did you gain permanent status through marriage to a USC or LPR?

    Yes/No

Will answer yes, because i believe this is to verify that I am not bringing a new spouse within 5 years. Thanks for all the help folks.

  2. i dont know what #3-17 is, but when you fill the i864, you use the household income of your wife, which is your wifes income and your income combined (assuming u filed joint tax returns) as the basis for income so as long as your income exceeds the minimum for all people in your household + mother in law, you are fine.

the i864 still needs to be her affidavit and not yours because she is sponsoring them. you just count your income in her household income.

  3. you cannot work until you have your EAD.

once you have your EAD, get a job, take your offer letter to the SSA office (and whatever else they ask for), fill out a form and your social security card will be mailed to you.

you can start working once u submit the SSA application but they may wait on payroll till u get your SS card.

once you get your green card, update SSA that you are now a permanent resident and they will issue you a new card without any work expiration date.

    congratulations.

  4. 1. Theologically if attending a Christian or Jewish funeral Muslims would still be praying to the same God. The big 3 wordhip the same God, they just take different paths after Abraham.

    2. Agree

    1. I am thinking of it this way -> According to islam, there is no other valid religion. So if religion x says that by attending the funeral you are defacto praying to diety x, its not a problem for a muslim because according to islam, religion x is invalid and therefore its defacto assumption of prayer is also invalid.

In islam, intent is very important. If you attend a funeral with the intent to offer condolences and not to participate in other religions prayers and do exactly that, then it should be fine.

  5. Disclosure: I'm born Hindu and NOT a follower of Islam. I obtained advice from my Islam follower friend. Islam does not recognize any other religion and has strict views towards unbeliever (non-muslim or athiest etc.). Here is the info:

Muslim religious authorities prohibit attending non-Muslim funerals. For instance, Sheikh Sulaymaan ibn Naasir al-‘Alwaan asserts that the Quran teaches that attending a non-Muslim funeral is haram (unlawful) because it shows love, respect or friendship toward an unbeliever, which he argues is forbidden by the Quran (58:22). Similarly, a fatwa, or ruling on Islamic law, published on Islam Web cites the Quran's prohibition on praying for deceased non-believers as grounds for banning attendance at their funerals. The same fatwa notes that attending a Hindu cremation ceremony would be an even greater violation of Islamic law, since it would imply agreement with the burning of a body, which is also haram.

not sure where you are getting your information but being friends with non-believers is not haraam.

    please look at http://www.islamicity.org/4659/can-muslims-be-friends-with-jews-and-christians/

1 - muslims are not allowed to pray to any other God. so Muslims cannot pray to another God while attending a non muslims funeral, but attendance is not a problem.

2 - muslims are not to participate in rituals that are not islamic, so sure he shouldnt be cremating the body himself, but there is nothing wrong with attending a funeral and offering condolences.

  6. I'm not a religious Islamic scholar. Based on what I know, he has already committed a sin. Islam and Judaism (Jewish) are strict religions and not open to interpretation (like Hinduism or Buddism etc.)

I'm not a religious Islamic scholar. Based on what I know, he has already committed a sin. Islam and Judaism (Jewish) are strict religions and not open to interpretation (like Hinduism or Buddism etc.)

Respectfully, i ask you not to spread incorrect information especially since you have said that you are not a religious Islamic scholar.

Women of the people of the book (jews, christians) are Halaal (righteous) to take as wives for Muslim men. No sin was committed by him marrying a christian person.

  7. irs tax transcripts are more important than your entire list.

not sure what these items are for - the dont prove co-habitation.

print out paper that I sent money in philippines to my sister through our previous bank(june 2014-dec. 2014),

receipt from western union showing my address when sending money to philippines,

the following are not strong evidence and you are better off including utility bills instead

receipt from pest sprayer showing my number and signature,
printed paper for maintenance from toyota showing my cell number,

cards we received from his relatives and wedding invitation card from his friend,
    gym membership

  8. The process is definitely discriminatory and they make no attempt to hide that. When it comes to immigration, people are guilty until proven innocent, not the other way around. The first and foremost reason why the process is like this is to protect the US and it's citizens from criminal activity.

    i have to disagree.

discriminatory how? discrimination involves treating a group of people unfairly and under the general case, the rules arent unfair. particular officers may engage in some, but the rules arent.

guilty of what crime? that phrase seems off because non immigrant visa applicants claim that they have no intent to immigrate and they have to prove that. it is completely normal for a third world country citizen to want to move to the first world and the process asks for proof that you are not going to come here and live off social benefits.

there is no crime, guilt or innocence here.

protect from criminal activity? most immigrants legal or otherwise engage in far less criminal behavior that citizens. the system is this way to prevent abuse of social benefits and nothing to do with criminal activity.

  9. Sure, English is the second language. Im just curiius as to what type of questions are asked during this part of the test.

From what I gather they may ask you to write something like ......'George Washington is the Father of the United States' or 'Independence Day is in July'.

Or similarly read something like the above 2 examples.

I know, not difficult but just wanting to know from recent interviewees?

if you are able to read and write the post quoted above, you will be just fine.
