For the sake of a brutal example, what if the USC and an overseas alien got married, then he lived overseas until he gots interviewed at the consulate abroad, has been granted the packet, and entered US after the 2-year marriage anniversary, and therefore got a IR1 (10-year) green card. And let's say they divorce shortly after as the marriage haven't worked out well. So technically it means that they've never lived together for a long period of time, as he lived abroad while his case was pending, and once he entered US they've tried living together, didn't like it and got divorced. And as he got his unconditional greencard from the very beginning, he did not need to go through removal of conditions. So will this present any difficulty at N-400 interview?  This is not the real case, but I would like to understand the law about it.

in this hypothetical scenario, the LPR should just go for the 5 year n400 because happens, people get divorced and the 5 year n400 doesnt require marriage.

hopefully the initial marriage was still legit though.

Our case is still on "Fingerprint Fee Received" since November 16th.  We did biometrics on 12/6 and got the EAD card in February.  It seems like a lot of people who filed after us are already approved.  Anybody still in this situation?

for my mother we are still in this state.

my father's case was approved without interview a month ago and his was filed one day after my mothers so.. its hardly a first come first serve situation. not sure what is taking my mother's case this long since the case is as simple as it could be. i have made a service request to see if that moves anything forward.

It would be rejected.  It's 90 days, not 91 days.

Why so impatience over 2 days?  Does 2 days really matter?  Wouldn't you rather be safe than sorry?

    this.

just drop it with usps on july 4th... or 5th... or 6th.

it really will not matter at all.

i filed 5 months after my date. the n400 was approved just the same.

    Hey guys!

I'm organizing our AOS box for the interview right now and I noticed that my wife's paystubs are still under single! My wife told HR sooo many times that she got married. She even gave them a copy of our marriage certificate and they said they will make sure they change it but yet it still says single on her paystubs :help: Is this going to affect us at the interview? :(

that is simply a tax withholding rate and doesnt mean anything for immigration.

to change it, simply fill out a new W4 and submit that to your payroll. telling HR is a waste of time. you'll get more money in your paycheck too.

  5. brown indian guy named 'steve'? i call bs.

    lol

i think your case is somewhat unique and its going to be hard to find precedent.

if you are really marrying steve, then file AOS for him after marriage and i think the burden of proof is that you are in a real marriage that is being consummated. no form asks whether or not you sleep with other people. however when they ask who else lives with you and you mention adam and if they dive deeper, all bets are off.

I got one traffic ticket in 2014 (red light camera), and I am concerned it may affect my citizenship application. Should I be concerned?

    no.

there is a provision that you only need to include traffic tickets if the fine was over $500.

    good luck

that is not how the provision works.

you mention any civil citations as well. a red light violation is a civil citation - you mention it.

you only include documentation for citations involving substance abuse or over $500 which the red light probably isnt.

just put it on your application, it doesnt affect anything. i had 4 citations listed (speeding and red lights) and my app went through without issue.

This has actually been a point of concern in several posts. There seems to be some confusion about whether you need to: A) Report the infractions and/or B: submit paperwork showing the resolution of the infractions. Sorry, I don't have any answer for you, but please do search for other posts regarding traffic violations. Good luck!

since the question asks if you have been 'cited' the answer to A is report. and no paperwork is required for infractions less than 50 that did not involve substance abuse.

that being said, it seems that the OP was not the violator. the violator's name is written on the tickets and only moving infractions count. parking tickets dont. so if there are no moving infractions on the applicants name, nothing is to be reported in the application.

  8. my understanding is that these are not your violations, just mailed to your because you are the registered owner of the car. if your husband is the violator, it has no effect on your application.

also traffic tickets dont do anything in immigration because they are civil infractions, not criminal.
