  1. Went to the mailbox today and there was my NOA2. I ran to the phone and called my fiance. I couldn't breath!!! I didn't know it would feel like this. Thank you God for answering my prayers. Thank u Vj and all the members that helped me. I love this site!!!

    Congrats!

I hope I hear something soon, I see on Igor's list that some VJ'ers have been approved for NOA2 (for VSC) even though they filed after my initial submission

please keep me in your prayers! :innocent:

  2. Thats what I'm doing :3 we're going to get married asap after he arrives but then have our big wedding in Sept (will that be ok as I just received my NOA2 a couple days ago and my dad wants to start booking things in the next 10 days!)

Wow! with your NOA2 received, I'd say you are that much closer to your fiance's POE!! Good Luck to the rest of your journey, Hopefully its not too much longer!

  3. Hi, dear VJ members!

Our petition is in process for 4 months already but when I enter the official USCUS site and fill in our recipe number it informs all the time CASE IS NOT FOUND.

Have anybody passed through the same situation? We are in Vermount Centre-as I follow the timetable of other pairs, some petitions sent after our were approved or touched already. Not our.

What to do better how do you think?

    Thank you beforehand)

I would call them to see if they have your petition. They more than likely have it, but online it may not be updated. But calling to inquire about it would take alot of worry off your shoulders.

ETA: Also have your case number ready to give them when you talk to them.

  4. My fiance and I are going through the K1 process, actually right now waiting for the NOA2 to arrive at the NVC since we received our NOA2 January 12th, hoping this week. we know its a short window to acutally plan our wedding, but do need at least a 6-8 weeks to do so. just wondering at what point if any is safe to begin planning, I have heard not till visa is in hand which isnt a lot of time.

our options: Get married in the church ( we are both catholic and would like to marry in the church ) very small service which I think she would be a little sad with only a couple people there.

or a civil service, then plan to have our marrige blessed in the church later with a larger service and nice reception to follow with family and friends in attendance.or try and plan the whole thing assuming a date within this process? Anybody have any Ideas, weddings are hard to plan especially if your the guy and here in the USA and she is not. would love some ideas and thoughts???

From the options you gave, It sounds as if you and she will be happier with the civil service, then plan to have your marriage blessed in the church with more people their to enjoy your celebration.

  5. Well.. altough I agree with most others, we actually planned our wedding even before applying for the Visa. Our wedding date is june 9,2012 and we booked the venue, photographer, catering etc back in July last year (because I was in the States all summer). I will admit I have been a bit worried, however, I believe everything will work out in time! I didnt tell the guests to book flights and hotels yet though ;)

Wow that's brave!! Looking at your timeline, you could very well be getting married on your planned wedding date :luv:

In my case though, I have read on here that the Accra consulate sets the interview appointments for 5-8 months after they receive the petition approval. :( So I am hoping that our wedding will take place in September. I haven't even received my NOA-2 yet but hopefully I will hear something in a couple of weeks (I am noticing alot of approvals through VSC on Igors List around the same time I submitted my petition)!

  6. K-1 VISA*

A QUESTION TO ALL SKYPE USERS. WHEN YOU GUYS SENT THESE CONVERSATIONS DID YOU ALL SEND ALL THE CONVERSATIONS GOOD OR BAD... MEANING VERY PRIVATE ONES LIKE WHAT IF AT THE MOMENT THERE WAS ARGUMENTS OR DISAGREEMENTS WITHIN THE CONVO (OF THE TWO OF YOU)...? COUPLES DO DISAGREE SOMETIMES AND THAT IS NORMAL blush.gifOR JUST THE HAPPY LOVEY ONES innocent.gif... WHAT IF THERE IS A LONG HISTORY OF CONVERSATIONS YEARS WORTH... IS THERE A LIMIT THAT WE SHOULD SEND AND SOME TO KEEP AWAY FROM OR JUST THE HONEST TRUTH OF ALL CONVO'S... WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK OR RECOMMEND.

    THANK YOU GOOD TOPIC smile.gif

I am going to send the entire 2 year history!

Hmmmm...as far as the arguments though, I may not include our arguments but even if I did, I can't see the CO reading every message word for word. I don't know of any couple that has never argued or disagreed before...so wouldn't it look normal to include the arguments when submitting this for proof of ongoing relationship?

  7. Your lawyer doesn't know what she's talking about.

The letter of intent requirement comes right from the I-129F instructions:

    B. Provide original statements from you and your fiancé(e) whom you plan to marry within 90 days of his or her admission, and copies of any evidence you wish to submit to establish your mutual intent

There's also no requirement that the beneficiary has a passport at the time of I-129F submission. She'll just need to have it by the time the petition's approved so she can prepare for the interview and medical.

  8. Don't get me wrong, I am very lucky to have been from Canada which allowed frequent visits during this process. But 2 years is a long time and is actually one of the requirements. While finances and distance always play a factor, it is essential that the 2 year requirement be met, I thought this would have been a priority becuase not only has the OP lost his filing fee but another trip BEFORE he can refile must happen

    Good luck

My case is different from the OP in that I did file my petition within the two years deadline. But in a sense it is similar because of the long awaited visits. My point wasn't about whether or not he should get denied (since he did file after the two year mark had already passed), My point was more on the fact of why he couldnt go see her, I can sympathize with him on that note.

But yes like you said, the OP will have to make another trip, lose his petition filing fee, and have to refile again after the visit. Its just sad because time and money is lost through all of this. :(

  9. Thank you all for the advice. From reading it seems there's a good chance that this will be declined. If this ends up being the case I'll go see her for sure. So of you wondered why I waited so long. Its because she wanted to finish college first and I wanted to be out of the army completely before I filed.(and the fact that I don't have $1,200 laying around to fly to the Philippines) Thank you all. I'll be sure to keep this updated with what happened.

That is also my point, a ticket to Ghana can be anywhere from $1300-$2000+ So I am definitely not judging why you couldn't see her in two years! Because I dont know too many people who would have that kind of money just laying around!

    Good luck to you!

  10. Not to mention the questions at the interview of why you went 2 years without seing the one you love. Isn't that excessive?

:ot: Unfortunately it is not a reality for all petitioners to go visit the beneficiary as much as they would like. In my case, finances kept me from hopping a plane and heading to Africa every time I missed him.

Though in my case (unlike the OP) I did file my petition within the two years of our meeting. But I couldn't afford to visit again until this year, so when I go this summer it will be my second visit since summer of 2010. But it doesnt mean our relationship is not bonafide because of every other year visits!
