  1. With the help of VJ and its members, we successfully learnt the ropes, put together our K1 application packet, got a better understanding of anxiety and patience. It paid off. We were approved for the visa. Thanks to all who helped, in every small way. For those looking ahead at us, the payoff is grand and all worth the wait. We will upload our experience by the weekend.

    Congrats!!!

  2. My husband and I got married on december 1st 2012 yeaaahh and yes it feels wonderful! We have been together since may 2010 And our next step is sending off paper work this week. So we are asking for your prayers through our process. I am a worry head so i have to stay busy to keep from worrying so much but through it all I know that God has joined us and will bring us together and my claim is this year. I know about the long waits i have been studying this site for over a year now but that my claim! This year!! Thanks friends pray us and we pray for u

Praying for you and your hubby on this journey!

Also congrats newlyweds.. and me and my hubby have the same wedding date as yours!! :luv:

  3. We'll file the K1 visa for him to come before we can marry. We're gathering the required docs for me to begin the filing. But I'll continue to pray.

It is hard for a Ghanaian to acquire a visitor's visa. Mine tried to get a visitor's visa to see me and was told he had to apply for a fiance visa. We filed the K-1 petition and he is here now. We just got married. Our visa process from filing K-1 to POE was a year. So get your 'patience' hat on, the waiting will be ahile but once you see him over here it will all be worth it!

Keep the hope and faith and do all your research in preparing and filing the K-1 petition.

Hang in there and Good luck to your visa journey!!

  4. Thanks, we were only 20 when we got married the first time around. We're much more mature now and are just as much in love if not more now. :)

We're very excited to get things back on track. I hope everything goes smoothly with the K1 process!

I have no advice about the visa but wanted to chime in to say Congrats on your reconciliation! :luv:

Good Luck to the both of you on your visa journey!

  5. I just want to use this forum to inform and encourage those with upcoming interview, just starting this race, that God will see you through. My Fiance had his interview at 7AM today, and he has been approved. He got to the embassy at 6AM, i didn't hear from him until 2PM(his time) He picks up his Visa next week. No lawyers, just Jesus!!! Thanks to all that read my post, answered my questions, for those that went through it and were willing to share so that novice like me could learn, Thank you. For those with upcoming date, May God Grant you favor, as long as you are in it for the right reasons, God will meet you at the point of your need. I will post a review, as soon as he his calm enough to give me the "gist." in the mean time, he said they didn't even ask for phone records, the actually gave him back the pictures i sent at the 1st stage. I mailed over 10Ib worth of data. Fedex was over $300. this has been a journey. Thank you all

    CONGRATS!!!

I think alot of times those heavy pound packets of evidence speaks for itself to prove a bonafide relationship.

I sent the same amount, and my Fedex was over $300. But luckily I have a friend who used her Fedex discount and I paid only around $70. for it overall.

I thank God for all these success stories on Visa journey..it gives hope to those who are about to interview at these tough consulates!

    hi :)

we rejoice with you!!! journeying with JESUS is indeed the most wonderful experience..

He is so faithful that He cant just leave you alone..

praise the Lord for giving you your heart's desire..

our case is not yet done, and we are still waiting for the packet from USEM..

i still have my medical and interview to pass..

indeed HE makes all things beautiful in His time :)

    congratulations to you both :)

may the good and faithful GOD who brought you together

bless you all the more :)

    Well said! AMEN!

  6. To Wife2be:

My goodness, I wasn't making fun of you. I was laughing WITH you not AT you.

    Geez!

But when you post something on an open forum, you have to expect that others will comment and post their thoughts as well. And you may not like what others may say in response to your post, but that shouldn't be a reason for you to make it your last post.

Take care and good luck to you!

  7. Sorry folks for the delay in updates.

Went to Ghana and was there for the interview. Packet of evidence spoke for itself and brought the interview down to 2 questions only.

    1) Have you been married before?

    2) Has your fiance been married before?

I will provide the embassy experience tomorrow, feeling jet lagged tonight.

Thanks to this wonderful VJ community for all the help and ppl in here

I was wondering why we hadn't heard from you!! LOL! I was thinking oh no, the interview must didn't go well

But I am glad to hear that she was approved and now onto to the next step: Passport pickup!! Yay that much closer to being reunited with your loved one!!

I am so happy for you both!!

  8. Tip for the future you shouldn't call ppl bad words if you need them to do something for you. Bc frankly that doesn't help the situation at all. And don't blame your husband for everything. I know of several ppl who sent the right documents the first time but NVC made them send it again saying that they were mistaken. I know one couple who went through this for almost 4 months until finally the US embassy in the fiance's home country contact NVC directly and told them it was the right document. I understand its hard trust me everyone here understands its really hard. Try your best to be patience and remember a marriage is supposed to be forever just a few months in the long run isn't so bad. Once you pass NVC it'll be much faster.

Good luck and I hope for your sake NVC approves your application quickly.

Totally agree with this. OP, Probably not a good idea to burn any bridges.

We all get agitated at our jobs, but she may just remember you and not want to be helpful at all the next time around and that will be of no benefit to you.
