  1. One more question....Would you have the AOS interview at a local office or your state office? I live on the boarder of three states, and the nearest office from me is in South Carolina (which is 2 hours away). However, if we have to go by the state office, that is 8hours away in Memphis.

Also, the same question applies for the biometrics. The last time I heard, the biometrics for the boarder city in the state of TN had to go to Charlotte NC for their fingerprinting. However that was in 2004-2005. Has that location changed?

    In my experiences,

I have a coworker (she is USC) and her husband is from Morroco. His biometrics was done in Nashville. But she said that the interview will be in Memphis.

Also I have a friend (he is USC) and his wife is from India. They had to go to Memphis for the interview.

    We are all in Knoxville.

  2. It, is, unbelievable in shocked....no cosponsor really

Congrats to you and your husband!!

congratulation!!!! it seems lots of approvals are coming out of Ghana. this is good.

when i also went to the interview on Monday, i also saw our K1 initial application that we sent in to USCIS and it also had the approval stamp on it. i think its the initial approval stamp from USCIS. i don't think its the embassy's approval.

    congrats again!

I sure hope this trend of Ghana approvals continues...

My fiance's interview is in August. :D

  3. OP please update us when you find out what the reasoning of her denial was for at the POE.

This is scary that even though our loved one is grilled mercilessly at the interview, that there is still a chance that they could be denied at the POE. :crying:

If I were in her shoes, she is probably in shock right now. What an ordeal to have to go through.

I hope this gets resolved ASAP.

    Good Luck.

Everybody has a boss. suggest you contact the assistant boss at the CBP POE and file a formal complaint. This 'fella' was doing it wrong, for entrance into the USA for a K-1 visa holder.

  4. In a marraige everything is shared so why cant the bills be shared too. Both the beneficiary and the petitioner have bills so they should both be responsible for some aspects of the fees.

    I agree with this

Everyone will put their opinion and/or experience but thats as far as it goes, because this is obviously something that can only be decided by the couple once they speak about it. And finances SHOULD be spoken about, it is not a taboo subject. It is very important for the success of the relationship. In my case I had planned on footing the bill to most of the immigration process, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I (the petioner) will not be putting a penny up until POE, at that point it will be my turn to be head of household until he can get his GC/work permit....but once he does recieve that, i will be more than happy to give that title right back to him, lol

    LOL!

  5. We waited almost 6 months from pick up to interview- so things have improved a little...

I thought you could only apply in the country the ben. was living in?

Same here! In my case, the petition was approved in February. But his interview is not until August.

So that is a 6 month wait.

The only good thing about such a long a wait time for the interview is that it gives us more time to prepare and organize our proof of evidence

  6. She is also anticipating that date.We looked at several timelines and realized that its taking on average about 4 months for an interview to be scheduled. We are just waiting for our date to be scheduled so we can get the latest letter of intent, employment letter, bank statement, I-134,bank letter and phone records, medicals and police report. We will probably send all these things about 2 months before the interview.

I am hoping that it doesnt take no longer than 4 months for my fiance to get his interview. We have yet to hear from the embassy of when his interview will be.

Good luck to all of our continuing journeys... and good luck on the interviews! :star:
