  1. After 5 (calendar) months, just try calling agents until you trick one into putting in an out of processing time service request. Try telling them you know people who have been approved as late as the most recent approval you've seen on here. They will give you a confirmation # and tell you to call back in 15 days....

They did this to us, and when I called back 15 days later, they told me that I wasn't actually out of processing time, so a service request couldn't have been put in, but transferred me to a Tier II because they had put in a request for a duplicate NOA1 (not what I asked for). The next day we were approved (170 days from NOA1). Not sure whether it was coincidence, but it's worth a try.

I think some of the agents are more willing to put in any request they can just to quiet you down, and others are more willing to transfer you to a Tier II agent than others...just keep trying until you get one of those people.

So far our service request has not triggered a thing. It is an expedite service request. It is going to be denied for the 4th time. Isn't it?

  2. I've been speaking to live agents by going through the automated system, entering my receipt number, listening to the recorded message about my case, waiting for it to tell me what to do if I need to change my address, if I want to check another case, blah blah, and eventually it asks you to press 1 to report a problem with your case. The first time I got a really competent agent (who was practically robotic, but effective) with whom I filed an expedite request. The second time (I was told to check on the expedite in 5 days), I got someone who 1. didn't seem to understand basic logic/linear time and 2. had an attitude. I guess it's really the luck of the draw.

The second guy also gave me a new definition of standard processing time: he claimed that 5 months is not actually the standard processing time, it's an estimate. Standard processing time means that my NOA1 date is not before the date they are currently processing. He claimed they are currently processing June 16, as we've all seen them saying all over this board, with idea being that I can't make a service request at 5 months, but I can if they're processing July 21st files and my July 20th file hasn't been approved. I was tempted to mention that they've been "processing June 16th" for weeks, but I didn't think it would be useful to get in an argument with him.

Hello. My wife called today as we are pending 155 days and counting. They say they will not do a service request because they are working on June 16 right now. She demanded to speak to a level to and explained her health conditions and everything to look into the case. More than likely they will still deny the request but we have waited over 5 months now. This is crazy. What did you file an expedite for exactly? Was it through a member of congress?

  3. Still waiting after 5 months.....

  4. 15 days from the day the request was put in...You just have to be diplomatic when dealing with these people. Some have more knowledge than others. The first person i spoke to again today told me she did not see any Request, so i asked her to transfer me to her supervisor than i will not argue with her when i am sure and that i have the service request referral number .

I really wish that our case was at VSC!

  5. Neither had I. I am also sadly not holding out any hope for any kind of movement until the start of January at the earliest. Last I heard, there still hasn't been a single July approval (or even touch) since we all got dumped in the box.

Sue and I are officially at 4 full months in a few days, and it won't be long till 4 months since the last touch with no movement in sight. :(

I had really hoped to be stuck at USCIS for just 3 months or less like all the lucky VSC people. Of course, to be honest I figured that's where we would go. :(

Happy Thanksgiving... such as it is...

I hope not, though I fear you may be right. If it were so late, it would completely wreck our plans for 2012. :(

Well, we are past 4 months and nothing at all. What do you think?

  6. Hello everyone! I am just trying to get some honest answers here. I have heard that some of the July cases were put into a large storage unit. Is it true that they can put cases in storage when there are a tremendous amount of cases flowing in steadily at once? I notice my wife mentioned that at one time our case was in Phoenix for some odd reason. Do you think that is where they have the storage building?

  7. I doubt he could get here before July even if she puts this in there at the rate they process applications at CSC. Perhaps if she gets VSC she may be able to have him here by that time. But with the way that Islamabad hands out AP I still highly doubt he will be here in time. Also, I would hesitate to have my wife put something like this in there if we had been intimate prior to marriage. This wont look very "decent" because Pakistan is an Islamic country. Even though these things happen I was told by others that when asked about premarital relations they did not answer truthfully due to the laws in Pakistan against premarital sexual relations. I do not think it is a good idea to mention it at this point. I also doubt it will help the case.
