I got interview date on Valentine's Day! Finally.... i hope it's same day oath, cos I booked passport appointment with my local post office the day after.

I don't know if it's related but that's one day after I wrote to the senator that I got the USCIS interview notice.

I applied in December 17th, 2020 and did my interview in Las Vegas, today. The interview was smooth and easy and the officer was friendly and approved my application after interview and said, will put me in the oath ceremony list. When I got home, I had several notifications from USCIS and noticed the oath ceremony is scheduled for February 17th and posted under documents tab. I'm so glad the whole process of my immigration is over and hope the same for all you guys here.

Update. I just saw online that they sent me bio reuse letter on April 18.

But someone messed up the Google doc again. Now there's only 3 entries on it.

I don't know your travel history, but your timeline suggests that you may have been eligible for citizenship under either the 5 year or 3 year (married to a US citizen) option. Evidence required depends on which basis of eligibility you are filing under. I think you have more evidence than you need for 5 year filing, and not enough evidence for 3 year filing on the basis of marriage to a US citizen.

USCIS has a helpful checklist for evidence supporting N-400 applications:
    https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/guides/M-477.pdf

Since you uploaded your marriage certificate, I'm going to guess that you filed under 3-year (married to a US citizen). For that you would need:
    -------------
All applicants must send the following 3 items with their N-400 application:
1.□A photocopy of both sides of your Permanent Resident Card (formerly known as the Alien Registration Card or “Green Card”). If you have lost the card, submit a photocopy of the receipt of your Form I-90, Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card; and
2.□A check or money order for the application fee and the biometric services fee, as stated in the M-479, Current Naturalization Fees, enclosure in the Guide.(Applicants 75 years of age or older are exempted from the biometrics services fee). Write your A-Number on the back of the check or money order.
If you are applying for naturalization on the basis of marriage to a U.S. citizen, send the following 4 items:
    1. □ Evidence that your spouse has been a U.S. citizen for the last 3 years:
    a. Birth certificate (if your spouse never lost citizenship since birth); or
    b. Certificate of Naturalization; or
    c. Certificate of Citizenship; or
    d. The inside of the front cover and signature page of your spouse’s current U.S. passport; or
    e. Form FS-240, Report of Birth Abroad of a Citizen of the United States of America; and
    2.□Your current marriage certificate; and
3.□ Proof of termination of all prior marriages of your spouse (divorce decree(s), annulment(s), or death certificate(s)); and
4.□ Documents referring to you and your spouse:
    a. Tax returns, bank accounts, leases, mortgages, or birth certificates of children; or
    b. Internal Revenue Service (IRS)-certified copies of the income tax forms that you both filed for the past 3 years; or
    c. An IRS tax return transcript for the last 3 years.
    -------------
The one thing that I don't see in your list of evidence is 'Evidence that your spouse has been a U.S. citizen for the last 3 years'.

Interesting.... thanks for the info HNZ91. I travelled to Australia in Feb 2019 and processed green card in US only.

Apart from each process centers' speed, I heard it also matters what your current nationality is and what is your birth country is. Did anyone hear about that? There's quota for each country's citizen?

I think the google doc is nearly back to normal. There are ways to see and save a copy of previous versions on the computer.

I wonder if the bio reuse has a time limit on them. Like if you did your last bio within 5 years or something they can reuse it. I did mine in Aug 2014 and that may be too long ago. I still haven't got any bio letters.

So thought I would share information I received from my IO during my interview.  In San Diego, if you request a name change, a judge must sign. Once the judge signs, they will schedule your oath appointment.  Due to COVID, they are only scheduling the oath appointments (ones that are not done same day) once a month, on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at Cabrillo National park.  Again this is only for San Diego.

You will need to apply for her Australian citizenship through the correct paperwork.. here’s the link...
    https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/form-listing/forms/118.pdf

Once you have her citizenship certificate .. it will take around 6 weeks, you can then apply for her AUST passport. Don’t get the citizenship completed until you can immediately go on to do her passport, as once she is a citizen she cannot enter Australia using anything other than her AUST passport ... so the process you have suggested won’t work.
Our 6 grandchildren.. US born to one Aust /US dual national have all now got their Aust citizenship and passport through this process.
You can get the citizenship process started while you are over there.. they no longer offer expedite on the citizenship process, have the certificate posted to your US address.. then complete the passport process here. You must attend an interview at your nearest Aust Consulate got the passport application processing.
If you can’t get the whole citizenship and  passport process completed before you travel to Australia, she will need to have a US passport and an online ETA visa for entry into Australia

Athena13 reacted to conch monch in US born baby get US and Aus passport questions
Hello! I don't have any experience in this area, just a personal opinion on an interesting topic ☺️

I would think if you were continuing to live in the US, the US passport would be the priorty because you would need your child to re-enter the US on the US passport (by law). If you were only visiting Australia temporarily, presumably you can just get the Australian visa waiver for the US passport? If you're wanting to be in Australia longer than three months, then both an US and an Australian passport makes sense. Have you registered your child for Australian citizenship?

Edit: the US embassy in Australia website says this about it. Apparently you technically need one for visiting Australia too. https://au.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/citizenship-services/dual-nationality/

    Good luck!

Athena13 got a reaction from Wendy427 in NSW Police Check - Which Form?
May I add, as I did it in March 2012 , in Sydney, the best way to do it is online. and you don't need to choose P799 or P800.
    1. https://npcoapr.police.nsw.gov.au/aspx/dataentry/Introduction.aspx enter the verification number and begin your online form!
    2. Print out or note the document number when you finished this form.
    3. Take this form with you to your local police, with your IDs (usually it's Passport, Driver's license and Medicare card) but it depends on which kind of ID you put on the form. And the payment and hopefully you can get your fingerprint taken then and there. If not you will have to keep calling them before you go, (before 9am is better), as they don't make appts for you, just depends on if they have someone in custody or not, as the fingerprint machine is in the same room.
    4. Make sure they entered that you paid on the computer, then they send the fingerprints to Parramatta electronically, and noted all your IDs match.
    5. Go home and relax and give them a working day then you can call to check if they got it on track! It can be as quick as one day I've been told.
    6. They will send it to that address you nominated by normal post, takes 2-3 days.
    # YES there is the option of sending it to your home address, or to another address. Which is good, but they use normal mail.
My experience is here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/356276-nsw-police-check-so-difficult/ i was doing the old paper form, then switched to online form, got approved in one day!
    Good luck~

Athena13 reacted to JFH in use of VWP after B2 denial (split topic)
She will need to be careful. Ordinarily it is "easier" for retired people to get B2s than working people (talking about VWP countries here) as they are unlikely to be working illegally. Many retired Brits with second homes in Florida do that and spend the winter in Florida. Work is the last thing on their minds! However, in the USA caring for a grandchild is considered work. And that is strictly not allowed on a B2. She can visit you and the baby. She can help you with the baby and around the house whilst you are at home or the baby is with a nanny. But she cannot be the primary caregiver whilst you are at work.

Athena13 got a reaction from VanessaTony in FYI, Australian RTA phone number when you are overseas
    HI guys
I haven't been on this forum for ages. all is going well, just waiting for the 'remove of conditions letter'.
The other day, we have to do car insurance forms, and the insurance company is asking for a record of my driving to see i'm a new driver or not (new driver has to pay more). So i'm contacting RTA to get a record. It cost $21 for an e-copy and $28 for a paper certified copy.
I thought we can get it for free, just by loggin into myRTA.com, but NO, you have to pay.
My NSW driver's license expired in March this year, I don't wanna extend it since I'm living in USA. and that prevented me to log into myRTA.
I wanted to call RTA, but their 132213 number is not reachable from outside Australia. then I got this number, just in case someone needs it in the future.
You can phone the Roads and Maritime Services Contact Centre from overseas on +61 2 9903 2159
    (8.30am - 5pm Monday to Friday, 8.30am - noon Saturday AEST)

Athena13 got a reaction from VanessaTony in Finding work in US is so different and difficult! with uni degree!
Hi guys, my K1 and conditional GC journey has been relatively quick and easy, and yesterday I got my California driver's license.
I posted in my regional area about finding work in USA, as an occupational therapist (OT) from Sydney Australia (with a few years experience). It's a long story, i had to do a master OT degree here in order to work. Luckily i got accepted into an online degree by SJSU, will start in Aug this year, for 2 years.
so in these 2 years i wanted to work, some related field (such as aba therapist) or something i'd really enjoy (like animal related). It has to be part time and local. and i suppose i have to accept the low $10/hour wage.
I live in the edge of Bay area, northern CA. and i looked in local newspaper, and on Monster.com and Indeed.com (they say it's good for temp and or part time jobs), and a bit on Care.com. here are some problems

Uploading/submitting my OT resume is pointless, i suppose. If i'm applying for a cashier/admin kind of non-professional job. Someone advised me to shorten/simplify my OT part and write more about my skills. I do have some carer and receptionist job experience. There is no space to put non-USA education and work history! On monster and indeed, my profile, in the drop down lists, I can't put my Australian background! and there is no blank for that kind of info. Why do they do that?!!?!?!?! Sure it states in my resume, but i think many employers or their computer systems will probably ignore that. Very frustrating.... Online and in newspaper there is no contact info besides the email. WHY WHY WHY? in Sydney there is always a person's name, phone number and/or email them to find out more info about the position before applying. Here in USA, it just says' send resume to xxx@xxxx or this physical address. Is it OK to email to find out more? I thought they ONLY wanted to see resumes in the email. The only thing you can click to proceed is 'Apply'. Some won't even have an email, it just ask you to apply online, and again, on their website (eg Petco) there is no space to put non-US education and work history. and many of them will want you to apply for an account on their website (great, another set of username and passwords to remember). No way to follow through, and they don't tell you if you are not successful. Yes, applied through the 'apply' option, there is no contact detail, when i google the company, it doesn't even have a contact. If there is a number, i call and it will get to some computer system with no 'career' option. jeez.... Ask the salary? It's not listed in the ad. Since I can't even contact someone before I apply or got called to go into an interview, it's not relevant now but will be useful to know definitely. As for my OT job in Sydney, salary is set, i don't need to ask. Here for the non-professional jobs, is it ok to ask about salary in the first meeting/phone call? so any tips guys? some suggested to apply locally, face to face, in small businesses, so i can have a chat and hand in my resume. The big companies like Petco or Target don't really want to hire people like me.
thank you all for reading )

If you had the required vaccinations at the time of your medical and they are marked off on your DS-3025, then you do not need to see a CS and get the I-693, even if it is marked incomplete-may be eligible for blanket waiver. See this post for details on whether or not you can skip the CS and just send a copy of your DS-3025: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/335754-ds-3025-complete-or-not/page__p__4971318#entry4971318
If you read through that post and decide you are in need of seeing a CS, then call around until you find one that won't insist on giving you another medical and/oe charging for it. You might need to call quite a few, and even look farther out from your area and drive a couple hours if need be to find one that won't rip you off.
Incorrect. Just because it is marked incomplete-may be eligible for a blanket waiver does not mean they need to see a CS. If they had all the required vaccinations for AOS at the time the DS-3025 was completed at their medical, then they can skip the CS. Also, if someone needs to see a CS, they would need PAGE 1, which includes parts 1, 2 and 3, and page 5, the vaccination record of the I-693.

Athena13 got a reaction from VanessaTony in I got NOA2, booked medical then.............
    Hi guys
I've been on this forum a bit, read a lot of useful info, especially by Vanessa. Thank you guys!
We put in our K-1 form at the end of Sept 2011, got NOA1 early Oct, and waited eagerly for NOA2 which arrived on Valentine's Day! (In USA, by mail). So i've booked medical on March 13th in Sydney with Dr Joseph Waks, they are asking some info to be sent asap before the medical. One of them is my case number.
    1. Now looking at the NOV2 letter (aka I-797), under Beneficiary (my name) there's a number starting with A, is that the case number?
    2. I know i will get police check (by using P900 form?) asap WHILE waiting for Packet 3 to arrive here in my address in Sydney? any other things I need to prepare now? passport photos? the DS156 & 156K forms?
    3. My fiance in USA should also send me his I-134 form (he got most of the paperwork for it already), but does he send me originals of those supporting documents or copy? what else does he need to send me? copy or original? I already have a copy of our K1 form.
    4. Further down the track, i will pay at the interview, I can only use USD? cash or cheque form?
Any other things I missed? please let me know, appreciate your time!
