Bring US spouse to 'live' in Australia, what kinda visa?

HI all

I'm an Aus citizen with US green card, been living in US for about 7 years. we have a daughter, she's going to have dual citizenship. My husband is a US citizen.

 

So i did some research. If we want to go to AUS to live for a few month, what kind of visa can my husband get that allows him to work? His job type is not for special job visa, the other tourist visa or VWP can't allow him to work. His only option is to do the spouse visa? But that's for wanting to live in Aus permanently right? and it cost like 6K something.

 

Is there an in-between visa? Like for him to try to find work in Australia.

If your husband is between 18 and 30 he can apply for holiday visa. Here's a link that may help.
