  1. Dang, well 'G' shows the Embassy in Manila requires it....jeez...thanks for the info Wally

NVC Does Not Need a Police Clearance from the petitioner nor the Beneficiary. When you (Petitioner) filed your 1-129F. Homeland Security did the full background check on you the petitioner.

The Beneficiary will need to present the police clearance at USEM in Manila when submitting there package.

    K1/K2 Interview Preparation Instructions

At this point you have your MNL case number. Start preparing your beneficiary for Medical at St. Lukes, Preparing package for your Beneficiary. You will need to now confirm with NVC when you case was sent to Manila Embassy. Then confirm with USEM Manila if they have received your case.

  2. Anyone here having dealt with the US Embassy in Manila under this sitch? Did they required a police report for working abroad under one year, or did you do it just to be safe? As the pkg is being sent to the US Embassy as we speak we are trying to avoid a long delay for police report from Cairo, lord knows how long that will take with the problems going on over there.

  3. We are trying to get a clear answer on this topic....again...Police reports.

I called NVC and we do have our MNL case number now. I was speaking to someone who appeared to know what they were talking about, so I asked about police reports, as my fiance worked as a RN in Cairo for 7 months last year.

I read on here that if you were overseas from your domicile for more than 6 months a police report is required.

The person at NVC said no, it is not required by NVC. They said if she had been there for more than one year. So I tell my fiance and she quotes something from here again on 6 months.

So I called back, spoke with someone else at NVC and she said, No a police report isn't required by NVC if she was there for less than one year. She said if a police report was needed by NVC then one should've been submitted already then, right? She said perhaps the US Embassy in Manila may require one, and she should ask them to make sure, but NVC doesn't need such.

    She gave me the link:

    http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html#police

An applicant must obtain a police certificate from the local police authority:

    IF you…

    AND…

have been living in your country of nationality at their current residence for more than 6 months

you are 16 years old or older

lived in a different part of your country of nationality for more than 6 months

you were 16 years or older at that time

lived in a different country for more than 12 months

you were 16 years or older at that time

    were arrested for any reason

you were any age at the time of the arrest

It does show 1 year on NVC....She also said it gets confusing as the second line says 6 months, but that is if you lived in a different part of YOUR OWN country for more than 6 months......

We can't call embassy till tomorrow to see if they require it.....

Can anyone help clear this up, short of seeing a lawyer, lol.

  4. Thanks for replies guys...we have our NOA2 already...while we were waiting for the NOA2 she went to the Egyptian consulate and they said she can't request it until she gets a form that is in the immigration pkg she gets...she then went to the US Embassy and was told she has to wait for the package to get sent to her and the form is in there...I was frustrated on this run around.

Boxster, what happened to you guys?

  5. Seems a lot of us have received our NOA2 lately from VSC....we received ours on 28Dec, the snailmail copy came last week.

I've been calling NVC daily, on friday the person I was speaking with said they have received it and are putting it in computer now, and to call back early next week, (this week coming up), to see if its put in yet and to get the case number.

She also said that 129f's are a high priority and they try to put them in the system quickly. We are trying to get the case number asap as my fiance has to forward a background check to Cairo as she worked out of her country for 7 months.

So that will slow our process down by a few weeks I guess...I hope not too much longer, does anyone have and experience with these police reports, or does it all have to do with what country its sent to?

  6. Providing you have no serious criminal convictions and no immigration overstays or previous misrepresentation issues with the USA you will be fine. No attorney required. read the wiki's for the k1 process and ask plenty of questions to other VJers and you will be okay.

Yea what Andy said...I came here with the same question, AFTER I had a free initial consult...I decided to go with this forum and the great people here and never looked back and saved thousands of dollars.

  7. Since Monreal got here i have tried to get her to try new things and meet new people. Not forcing anything on her, just always keeping the door open for new things. I know in good time she will be completely out of her shell. Monreal's cousin is here in the same town we are in and she is married to a close friend of mine, which through marriage makes him my cousin. My friend has sisters that are in business together and are very well off. Since Monreal got here they have been trying to be a really good friend to her. They will spoil her every time she goes over to their house. They are much older than her and they just love to do it because their hearts are huge. Monreal is not the type of woman that needs anything from anybody, however she knows what blessings are and graciously accepts it. This weekend my friends sisters (which are friends of mine also) are trying to invite Monreal and her cousin to a big girl weekend getaway to some fancy resort in Kansas City. This place has an indoor water park, probably hair and nails and all that ####### women due. Monreal's cousin said no and because of that Monreal said no. They were wanting to pay for everything for Monreal and her cousin. They did not say no because of the money, but because her cousin says that she feels lazy and so does Monreal. This really irritates me because i feel like it is an insult to my friends sisters who are only trying to be their friend and give them an exciting weekend. IMO its like spending all day helping someone move their home for free and then at the end of the day they tell you that you did a terrible job.

Monreal and I have an awesome relationship. I am just frustrated because she doesn't see that when somebody wants to do something special for you, the appropriate thing is to greatfully accept it. And if you cannot, then be respectfull enough to offer the person a good reason why you can't.

I am sure i have some spelling errors on this, but i am to lazy to correct them.

No worries on the spelling, there were a few, ironically the use of the word, 'to' to explain that you were 'too' tired, was one, haha...just messing with you...Are you a Marine? Noticed your 'signature', I am one.

    But I digress.....

I think your post contains a lot of feelings from you Dex. I know you love your wife and want her to get out and become more acclimated, and in time she will. You have provided the path for her, however she has to be willing to walk it.

As for the invite to KC, maybe your wife feels awkward now that the other Filipina isn't going? I assume the other gals are all Caucasians...? Maybe she feels awkward or uncomfortable at this stage of her being here to go off to another state doing a GNO, 'girls night out'...? Maybe it would help if you pictured yourself in the Philippines, with the same thing going on....? Seeing from her eyes?

Thats just my opinion Dex, you seem to have a loving relationship, so it is just a bump in the road, it will work out. Maybe you can explain to your friends why your wife doesn't want to go.

    Good luck.

  8. I can tell you that 31 years ago it was NOTHING like what it is now...I really do not remember much of it, as it was the late 70's early 80's and in SoCal....so there were some other activities that kept my mind busy, ahah, but I can assure you the process was nothing like this nor a fraction as long.

However, my fiance is worth all the time and effort and cost involved in the current process...even though it sucks. haha

  9. Rather succinctly put MrsNelson...!

If you and your spouse won't put each other first then who the heck will? Seriously I love my family, but they could take a flying leap if they didn't like my husband.

  10. I do not know Beth or Brandon, I assume this is Brandon? The only way people's opinions of you or your wife can do any damage is if you give them the power to affect you. If people love you, they will accept Beth, regardless if she is a Filipina, or has two heads, those that are opinionated will have their opinions be it now, or when they meet Beth in the future.

IOW, haters are going to hate, be it now or later.

So why worry what people think...it may just be my attitude, if you look at my pics, I obviously do not care what others think of me....if people are going to judge me so be it, their opinions have zero affect on me, I refuse to give anyone the power to control my feelings or thoughts.

Issues future problems please elaborate????just because I dont want people to prefab opinions before they meet her?

  11. I think your husband has issues, to put it mildly. Unless its not quite as you have explained it, or unless you mis-understood him, I'd say his behavior is a precursor to future problems.

No self respecting man would think that, and in fact he should be 'proud as a peacock' over you.

    Was your husband Military?

  12. Absolutely !

and a few of the posters on here whom are saying they didnt pick by country have a short memory. I remember a thread discussing IMBRA many moons ago, and saw a few people in this thread mentioning 'cherryblossoms' and another Pinay website where they met their fiance.

I think a lot of us have a type of woman we are attracted to, how we meet them is another thing. Some guys prefer blondes, or women with large ta-ta's....etc.
