  1. My daughter applied for citizenship just over a week ahead of me prior to Covid, and had my biometrics done prior to shutdown. I had my interview rescheduled to Montgomery (I live in Columbus) and had my oath ceremony in August 2020. My daughter’s file stayed in ATL (she lives there). It took a couple of months after I had my citizenship for her to even hear anything about an interview. I’m assuming that they are even more backed up now, if they’re scheduling local ATL people for Montgomery.

  2. I just went to the dentist and they did a fluoride treatment that leaves your teeth feeling “fuzzy” for the rest of the day.  My teeth feel gross.

On the other hand, Nik looks amazing and has been an inspiration to me!  Thanks for the book recommend, I was looking at that exact one on amazon, but debating spending the money.  Now I know it’s worth it. :)

My scan in the doctor's office went well today - baby is measuring ahead by 5 days or so.

I've got my NT scan next week in Fargo.

So on the way home, this girl is tailgating me hard, like if I braked even slightly she would have slammed right into me.  Slowing down made it worse.

Eventually she gets out from behind me...zooms off...and two blocks later pulls into the drive-thru at Dairy Queen.  Such a rush for a milkshake.

Congratulations!  I’m happy for you guys!

  4. Working and Cruising.  Working to Cruise.  Those Disney cruises have sucked me and hubby in I tell you.

I rarely go on my computer since getting an iPad.  Is the site working on iPads now?  I just remember the rants about people using their phones...

Going to go down to 40 hours a week so I should be on a bit more often.

  5. I got married in GA while down for a visit.  We filed our application for the CR-1 Visa after I’d gone home.  I was able to fly to visit hubby during the wait for processing.  I took proof of intent to go back to Canada - lease, letter from work and a copy of the application for the visa with me.  I had no issues with the travel down.

  6. If you change the title/topic, how will I find you when I remember to check in?

    How are all y’all doing?

Things here are going well. Glad that I wasn’t living on HHI when Matthew went through! I was on the Disney Dream though, they took our 4 day Bahamas cruise and made it a 6 day Mayan Riviera cruise instead. Such is the rough life I have been living. Another new job within the company that I’ve been with since I started working down here. This one has more normal hours, so you may hear from me more frequently again. Although I have a new house to work on...

  7. Could someone please amend my comment (Got I-551 stamp 06/09)to read that it was for adult CR2 so there’s no confusion. She was given a stamp as she is living in a different state & city and needed the stamp as proof she was extended for work/travel - her name is not even on the letter and she had nothing to show for herself.

    Thanks :)

AND a big congrats to the people who have been approved. Good luck to the rest of us!!

  8. I am the female and will be changing my name. My fiance called city hall (I think? Whoever does the courthouse weddings) and he says I need my SSN before they can wed us. I wonder if that's wrong?

SC requires a SSN to get married, GA doesn’t and would take my AB driver’s license, so we got married in GA.

From what I’ve read on-line today, Ohio is one of the states that is requiring a SSN.

  9. In case anyone else searches this, my adult child DID NOT get her own letter.

We got her a stamp for her passport at an Infopass appointment the same day we did our biometrics. Went nice and smooth - other than having to drive to a different USCIS location between appointments. Just explained she wasn’t mentioned in the letter and she lived in a different city than us. Waited less than 5 minutes and were good to go.

  10. Just for small talk while we wait... did everyone else organize your packet into sections with divider tabs and all?

We did. Acco fastener at the top and tabs placed at the bottom of the pages for each section.

Been doing government paperwork as a job for most of my adult life (in Canada though), so it’s ingrained.

I didn’t do the labels on the top of each page this time. Perhaps I should have. <bites nails>

  11. Okay, got home to two biometrics letters yesterday. One for me and one for the former teen. They have us both scheduled for Charleston.

They have her address. Why send to me? Oh and she didn’t get her own extension letter. If she wants to go home for a visit what does she do?

Oh well, her and hubby had already talked and she was excited about a road trip. :)

  12. Since the teen got her own letter to notify her about removing conditions, does she get her own extension letter? Also, she would have a different local office - would her biometrics be there? I’d ask in forums but I like you guys better. :P

p.s. hope everyone’s having an awesome long weekend!
