smashrun got a reaction from Alix64 in Help! Rescheduling biometrics appointment
Exact same thing happened to us, except there was no time to do an official reschedule since a) the notice arrived one week before the appointment and b) we were out of the country. So we went to the ASC as a walk-in as soon as we returned and were prepared to explain with passport stamps, itinerary etc. They didn't ask one single question and did the biometrics straight away. No problems.

Not accurate. I-485s are no longer transferred to CSC. They either stay at NBC or are sent to the local field office.

All that is needed is the NOA extension letter that extends your green card for one year while your I-751 is pending. We renewed driver's license and travelled internationally WITHOUT any passport stamp. No problems at all. But you do need to carry that letter combined with green card.

Want to read something funny???? When I wrote the check, I didn't spell the amount.... I just wrote the figure in the amount box.
How do I know, you say? I received my entire package back with a blue note, advising that the remittance had been left blank
On a positive note they received everything and stamped my papers with receipt date 4/17 and .. well... at least they finally touched them. The letter was dated May 1st.
I have corrected the error and I will re send everything tomorrow.
    Now, dear VCS

Congrats! So nice to finally see things moving for September filers.
I wish I could say "smell ya later USCIS" - which I thought I had. I unfortunately have an infopass appointment this afternoon to get an I-551 stamped in my passport. GC welcome letter arrived last Friday and I'm traveling internationally on Wednesday morning. I'm not sure if traveling on AP when your GC is approved, but not yet in hand, will cause any trouble. What a pain. At least with my stamp I won't get pulled into secondary, should be a breeze! Weeee! Cheers to permanent residency.

You are correct. I'm an August filer and tried it all, service requests, congressman etc but no results, just wait, wait, wait. NBC is working on late July and from what I can ascertain, one week jump equals one month to do so.
If you are at NBC, probably the best advice is to not beat your head against the wall, let go...relax...it is what it is.

My congressman made an inquiry on my case and said my case had been identified as a "interview waiver" case and that regular processing time for these cases is 6-9 months.
From what I've seen, if your case is at NBC and it's been over 4 months, most likely it's a no-interview case.

Still doesn't hurt to try. To that I say, good for them for inquiring.
Yes, some people have been waiting longer. Yes, some people are getting approved quicker. That is how it goes.
To the original poster, the one waiting to hear from their congressman, please keep us posted. I'll be hitting the 6 month mark in a couple of days, and although I am patient, like all of us on this board, and can't wait to take a breather from the USCIS, I'm also looking forward to receiving my GC.
I saw that a lot of July filers and at least one August filer stuck at NBC had received their GC: that means we're next!
    Cheers!

First congratulations on the birth of your child
Illegal presence and out of status are two different things. You're not breaking any rules by not filing AOS before I-94 expiration date. Many people wait to file beyond the 90 days simply because AOS is expensive. Sounds like you have a lot on your hands dealing with a sick infant. I would wait until all my documenation was straightened out and THEN worry about submitting AOS paperwork. Just my opinion. Good luck!

I am still waiting for NOA2 because I had an RFE completely unrelated to what we are discussing. Regardless, my expedite was granted.
Thank you for your moral judgement while knowing very little of my situation. Nice to know the world is so black and white for some people.
My point was to let OP know that it may not be a bad thing to mention pregnancy. I fail to see how that could hinder an application. Perhaps I am wrong. I think it's an opinion she might like to consider, however.
I am out of this thread BTW because I find it offensive. I will say no more.
    Good luck to OP

Respectfully, but what in the world does that have to do with it (unprotected ***)? Anything that might help you prove a solid relationship should be mentioned IMO. I too am the USC petitioner and I am pregnant and I made SURE to mention it. It's important. I also got an expedite based on problems with my pregnancy. So my pregnancy definitely DID NOT work against me.
