That's an excellent idea! Get the boys to do the roof and they'll be much better set in the future for these kind of home repairs.

Your NOA1 will be her 1 year extension letter. So the date doesn't really matter once she has the application received by USCIS.

Yes it is, but I don't want people wasting time and money thinking getting an annulment based on fraud will have standing with USCIS. I don't think they even bother to look at those, given the results people have reported back. I also found a reference once, I think in the handbook, which stated a USCIS agent should not consider a local court ruling and following the standard process.

USCIS does not recognize local court findings of fraud. The standard of fraud they use is much different than the varying standards used by state courts. USCIS will make its own determination on that issue based on its own rules and standards. We have had plenty of people here try and fail to make a local courts findings stick with USCIS.

Men are just stupid sometimes. I feel for you. Its a shame so many men grow up not being able to fix things. I even taught my daughters how to fix things. Tell your husband the guys in the forum are cutting two cards off of his man card for not being able to fix a roof.

Oh and now it looks like we won't be going to Canada in July.
    Why you ask?
    Well let me tell you!
It's because the turkey finally realized our roof needs to be replaced. The whole thing is rotting out, decking and all and not in just one spot the whole roof!
Oh and guess what I told him that before he bought the dang house. He put it off for so long that now he can't wait any longer it's really just a matter of time before the roof caves in.
And yes I told him it needed to be done many many times a year. Never listens to me. Now it's going to cost even more to fix it and it's to big of a job for me, I don't want to do it!
So now he's all I'm going to to have to get a second job now.
Well guess what buddy I don't care I told you long ago and I even told you not to buy this house when you have no clue how to fix things.
Days like today I wish I never sold my house, I'd be gone by now!

The divorced waiver option is a check box on the form. You can easily do this on your own.

I'd still chase her down and drag her out. What is being forced upon her is not legal in the USA. That sounds kind of bad to write it like that, but likely her preconceptions of what these people can hold over her head, does not match with the laws of the USA.

Debt bondage is illegal in this country. I would look into the exact laws and throw it at these people who borrowed money to her parents and are forcing her to work to pay it off. Not so much that you will do something this time, but to let them know borrowing money to her parents will bring no obligation on your wife in the future.
Federal law defines “severe forms of trafficking in persons” as 1) sex trafficking in which a commercial sex act is induced by force, fraud, or coercion or in which the person induced to perform such an act is under 18; or 2) the recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision, or obtaining of a person for labor or services, through the use of force, fraud, or coercion, for the purpose of subjecting that person to involuntary servitude, forced labor, peonage, debt bondage, or slavery.1

Which why I mentioned confronting the owners of the salon with trafficking laws after this is complete. You want to insure there is no repeat of the shady business. And yes, he needs to have a serious heart to heart with his wife. To me it appears she was forced into this situation against her will. Partly by her parents, and partly by the salon owners. Its likely the parents got money in their pockets, and the salon owner got labor below market rates.
