    Re: Screenshots
If you use skype on a computer - using the "PrntScr" button (usually beside or around the delete key) and then coping (Ctrl-V) it into Microsoft word or paint, then save/print.

    Ed and Gina,
    Thanks for your reply.
I just have my GC last year so it's a 4 year wait to go to obtain a citizenship. I would rather do the citizenship and K-1 route like Hank said, rather than paying $3.5k- $4.7k for annulment in the philippines and a 2-3 year wait period.
    Hank,
Thanks a bunch for your reply!
You just saved me $3.5k-$4.7 annulment lawyer package fees. I was supposed to talk to a Philippine lawyer tomorrow, Sunday, (Monday in Philippines). I would probably still talk to her for insight but no longer need her service.
    God bless your heart.

Huh?!! Your suggestion is for him to get his citizenship, THEN get married in the Philippines, even then he is still LEGALLY married to his EX according to Philippines law. He can't get married in the Philippines LEGALLY without an annulment. Dual citizen, no dual citizenship doesn't matter, legally he is still married to his EX by Philippine law.
Get married in a third country seems easiest? You must really live a complicated life if that is the easy idea.
Easiest solution is - get his U.S. citizenship, do the K-1 visa route, USCIS and USEM will not ZERO issue accepting his divorce decree.
If he never gets the annulment then one day decides to live in the Philippines again this could, potentially, come to bite him in the butt.

In this case you refer to were both people LPR or was one a Canadian citizen? Philippines will only accept a divorce if petitioned by the foreign citizen.
He is single, just not a USC. All he needs to do is complete his citizenship.
What good does taking his certificate of divorce to the embassy, he still can't get married in the Philippines as NSO records show him as being married already? Getting married in the Philippines without doing the annulment process is not possible.
Their only option without completing an annulment is for him to get his citizenship and go the K-1 route.

You can not get your divorce recorded in the Philippines as they only accept divorces if the foreign citizen was the petitioner of the divorce, being neither of you were a foreign citizen (in this case USC) by passing the annulment process isn't possible. So marriage in the Philippines isn't possible for you without completing the annulment process.
Yes, the best way for you to marry your fiancee is to complete your citizenship, THEN apply for a K-1 visa.
    http://www.uscis.gov/i-129f
    Eligibility Requirements
If you petition for a fiancé(e) visa, you must show that:
You (the petitioner) are a U.S. citizen. You intend to marry within 90 days of your fiancé(e) entering the United States. You and your fiancé(e) are both free to marry and any previous marriages must have been legally terminated by divorce, death, or annulment. You met each other, in person, at least once within 2 years of filing your petition. There are two exceptions that require a waiver:1. If the requirement to meet would violate strict and long-established customs of your or your fiancé(e)’s foreign culture or social practice.
    2. If you prove that the requirement to meet would result in extreme hardship to you.

If you and your ex were both still Filipinos, not dual citizens, then the Philippines won't recognise the divorce.
A K-1 is only available to us citizens, not lpr's.
Options that seem to be open-
Get citizenship, go for the k-1. As far as I know, the divorce will hold up at the USCIS and usem.
Try to see if you can get the nso to take the divorce - long shot.
Get your citizenship, but don't do the dual citizenship, get the affidavit in leau of legal capacity to marry from the us embassy, get married in the Philippines. Go for cr-1. Do the dual citizenship later if you so desire.
Get married in a third country. This seemed easiest to me. Don't know if it accually is or not. Report the marriage to the embassy or consulate that has jurisdiction over the place the marriage took place.
Look for a filipina in the us. < JK, that's bogus and I know it.
Others with more detailed experience will be around shortly. I'm just spitballing.

Your attorney should have known and informed you that your co-sponsor needed to show proof they are a USC or LPR via birth certificate or passport bio page, as it asks for this information to be filled with the I-864. The problem with having to submit paper work after the interview is that, who knows when they will update the file and get the process back rolling once it has been put on hold. Not sure why the co-sponsor would have received an RFE as it is not their case. I seems this should have been caught by the NVC unless they thought the embassy would request the missing information during the interview. Either way, it's unfortunate but you are going to have to stay on top of everyone to make sure the missing information gets to the right place. I wish you the best and they get it together soon.

You know what I think is funny about these posts? Your marriage is failing and the first thing you think about if immigration status. Shouldn't you be more concerned about trying to save your marriage if you really love your wife.

The OP is not from the Philippines. The Pakistan embassy most likely endorses a different hospital and not St. Luke's. St. Luke's is for the Philippines.

Wait for your EAD. It will arrive soon. I am in VA, filed the same forms on July 13 and received EAD on Sept 15th. Once you have EAD in hand, go to SSA office and request SSN...then get a VA driver's license, go to the bank with EAD+SSN+DL and they will issue you an account immedaitely. Don't rush things before you have EAD+SSN otherwise, you will be denied in many places. Good luck.
Why do you worry about the interview while you at the very early stages of your AOS journey?

Hi, my daughter in law is filing form -i-485 (and others) to change adjustment of status. On form i-485 undeer processing information, question 2 asks if you have received public assistance in the US or are you likely to receive benefits in the future. While my daughter in law has been here (april 2012) she received WIC for my grandson because my son only made 25,000 a year and was unemployed a couple of months. She does not plan on receiving WIC once she gets a job here (shes a nurse). What would you answer for this question? An earlier forum I read here stated that you should not have to put down yes because it would seem like you planned on applying for govt support after receiving your green card.

Like everyone said before and also:
    1) Count the number of luggage pieces plus her purse that she'll be carrying (include computer bags, backpacks and etc in this count)
    2) Get as many sets of photocopies of those documents (for her passport, just the basic info pages are needed for this) as in #1
    3) Get as many security envelopes are in number one and stuff each document set into a single envelope
    4) If feasible, put a 50.00 US bill or amex check in each envelope as well (emergency funds, good for phone calls, food and a hotel room)
    4) Put one envelope in each piece of luggage and one in her purse in some out of the way place - even inside of a zippered liner
This makes sure that no matter, what - she'll will have a copy of her primary documents and will be able to get back into the U.S. This might sound a bit extreme, but I travel confident that there is possibility approaching zero that I won't have ID or money on the other end . . .
    Just a thought . . ..
    Mark and Rassel!
