Most Corporations that outsourced jobs wants to save money, healthcare cost, increase productivity while keeping expenses at its minimum, so the real answer is they don't siphon money outside the US, they go after cheap labor to save money.
if the jobs/projects are being outsourced, doesn't that mean some wages that would have been earned in the US is now being earned by foreign workers/foreign company? isn't the money being siphoned out of the US this way?
even if you disagree, it isn't so "American" to ship your jobs overseas while leaving your fellow American citizenship unemployed isn't it?

Read this oath carefully. You will be abandoning all loyalty and allegiance to any country other than the United States. You will be agreeing to support the US constitution, to fight in war if called upon, or serve in a non-combat role. If you cannot swear this oath and actually mean it then please do not become a US citizen.
The absolute worst reason to become a US citizen is because you want to help other family members immigrate, and help siphon money out of the US to send back to your home country. If this is your intention then please remain as a permanent resident and a guest of the United States, but don't become a citizen if you don't consider yourself to be an American, above any other nationality.
The american spirit
so proud aren't you. whatever you say.
You have no right to tell me how I spend my own money. It's none of your business. "siphon money out of the US?" Most of the big US corporations has be doing that through outsourcing. yes, The United States corporations. I guess those people who runs the corporations shouldn't consider themselves as American.

I really wanted to resist posting, but I'm sorry... I just can't!
Why are planning on applying for US citizenship if the five years have been "miserable", and you still consider China to be "home"? It's just sounds like you'd be a lot happier moving back to China.
miserable because wife's not here and entire family's in China.
China will always be my home, being a LPR or USC doesn't change that.
i have a decent job here and moving back to China doesn't make sense financially.
i have to support my parents and save up for my own family.
lol ..
what's so funny about that?

You know you're a F2A filer when...
1) You have a hard time explaining to people why you're married and your wife/husband ain't here
2) You wish you had married/met your wife when you were in H1-B (assuming you got your GC through H1-B)
3) You didn't bother to change your martial status at work or when filing taxes because it don't matter
4) Skype, MSN or QQ webcam with spouse becomes your daily life
5) You know the number of days to go before your next trip home
6) You start counting the number days on your next trip home even before you fly back to the states
7) PD, Cut-Off date, visa bulletin are always on your mind
8) You know the exact day to send in your N-400, right at 3 months prior to your fifth miserable year, not a day late
Feel free to add yours to this list

what I think the next month's cut off date would in OCT 07 or JAN 08. Best of Luck Everybody!
I've also analyzed the historic cut-off date data (91 to now).
The big retrogression that happen in 8/2001 and 6/2006 recovered within 2 months and 6 months respectively to the date before the retrogression. We're also seeing similar trend here, we're recovering back to the cut-off date before regression, i.e. 4/2010 where the wait time was 3.78yrs. Current wait time is 3.72 years.
The key difference is that the last two retrogression did not happen prior to a big forward movement like in 5/2010.
This is my theory :
2009 was a bad year for everyone, financial crisis, massive layoff, F2A applicant rates dropped significantly, USCIS collect a lot less fees, they had to create cash flow to save their jobs also, therefore they open up the gate for F2A to create massive applications (= $$$$$$$$), their jobs are saved once money's collected and now plenty to do, they close the gate and started chilling
, relaxing again on our cases.
They created rapid movement because F2A visa usage was low and I think it's all because of the bad year in 2009.
The next few cut-off dates will indicate whether there's a real reduction in wait time for us or it was just a once in a lifetime thing...

Good point we can try both....
-
THATS NICE AND GOOD IDEA! =)
are you going to do it? i mean you don't have to be living in CA to write to CBS5.
if we all focus on 1 station, we have a higher chance of getting a story....
-
i know they are unlikely able to help but hey u got them to follow up on your i130 way before the average processing time, so maybe there's something they can do, who knows.
anything is worth a try at this point!
-
No because the SR was submitted hence as they told me approval in 30 days.
Perhaps they can expedite the NVC stage too even though our PD is not current?!?

For those of you who are separated from your overseas spouse and children because of F2A 4 years wait time
For those of you who have waited many years to earn your green card
For those of you who feel that are treated unfairly because of your LPR status
I urge you to write your F2A story to CBS5 (a local CBS station in San Francisco)
I'm hoping when many of us write to them they will do a news coverage on the existing
broken, outdate and inhumane F2A immigration laws for LPR. Hopefully, the national news channel may pick it up and more people would know about it!
You can read the UnitedFamilies.Org website that's dedicated for F2A for ideas
Website : http://www.unitefamilies.org/
Action : Please email your F2A story to CBS 5 : cbs5investigates@cbs5.com
Website : http:// sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/station/cbs-5
Let's do SOMETHING to unite our families!!!

it's so unfair to our families, i can't take it anymore,
let's do SOMETHING!

Does comprehensive immigration reform counts for lpr ?
Please check this new video. Thanks
i believe so.

It was submitted 4 weeks ago when the case was about 3 months and 2 weeks old. I got feedback on it.
Wouldn't they tell you "normal processing time is 5 months, submit SR after that time if it's not approved yet"????
-
hey ... during the week of April 11-15 I called up the congressman and submitted a service request...
Are you asking the congressman to have your I130 case looked at?
Isn't average I130 approval time 5 months?
Are you submitting the SR at 4th month of your I130?

There's an existing website/platform dedicated to us (F2A community), that should give us a starting point instead of building from scratch.
I suggest syncing up with them, see what plans they have to raise awareness and make it real difference.
The more I think about my situation the more I think it's UNFAIR and INHUMANE!!!!!!!!!!
Last do something about it, instead of just *waiting*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

July 21, 2007
Only 22th of the month so your cutoff date is impossible lol
-
Yes but nothing big, 1-3 months max..... Like we have seen so far. They would mention it in the bulletin if they anticipate rapid movement.
But I wish I'm wrong on this since my i130 should be approved sooooon
-
How can we help to get it passed? What action is effective? That's what I want to know
-
What worries me is that June bulletin didn't mention any anticipate BIG forward movement for F2A. In fact it doesn't mention anything about F2A cutoff date in the coming months....so last month's statement still stands by default
From May's bulletin :
"Family-sponsored: The extremely high level of demand during the first few months of FY-2011 resulted in the retrogression of most worldwide cut-off dates in January or February. Most of these cut-offs have begun to advance slowly, although demand is still somewhat heavy in the Family First preference which may require further retrogression of that date. At this time it is not possible to predict the rate of forward movement, but some movement is anticipated in most categories for the remainder of the fiscal year. "
but hey, no bad news is good news!

I do share the same view. It's a pretty big bill.
I hope it's not just a political campaign for Mike Honda to get more votes and visibility!
Maybe you can share the letter templates and contact info here so people can write to their local senators, house representatives and other government officials?
What can we do as a community to help this bill get passed???
You know you're a F2A filer when...

It sounds to me that if you were in my situation, you would remain a LPR and be separated from your loved ones for 4-5 years because you considered somewhere else home or because it's immoral to you. Maybe you are the kind of person that can withstand the unjust long wait, maybe your wife is also just as patient or as moral as you are.
It's easy for you to say because you did not have to wait 4-5 years to bring your girlfriend from Vietnam to the U.S. It only took you 6 months to bring her here and marry her through K-1, so you will never understand what LPR with F2A cases go through.
I will take the oath and I'll always think of China as my home because I was born and raised there.
If you think that's immoral (or worst "immigration evasion"), that's ok, think however you want, I could really care less.
