hi
I am LPR and my I-130 for my spouse is approved on june 6.how long the NVC takes a time to assign the case.
about 15 working days from June 6 you should get a case number. either talk to NVC operator or wait for the system to update your case.
then wait another week or two you should get an email from NVC about your case.
good luck!

According to http://www.travel.state.gov/pdf/WaitingListItem.pdf
F2A waiting list figure is 361,038
77% of 114,200 visa numbers for FY-2011 is assigned to F2A. that's 87934 visa number.
does that mean it'd take about 4.1 years to process the people on waiting list?
361038/87934 = 4.1 years
It should be less than 4.1 because many people would become USC and upgrade their case to IR.

in FY2010 only 60,652 F2A Visas were issued. This means 28,000 out of the available 88,000 visas were wasted!
Did you get 88000 from 77% of 114,200? Why wouldn't they be fully utilized given the long F2A waiting list?
that is just nonsense!

great info there!
i, like many others here, am lucky enough to jump through all the hoops of EB
and now going through FB!
i thought the suffering was over when i got my greencard
it's only the beginning of another long journey!!!

I hope you are full of ####### ; )

my wife PD on OCT,27 2008,and i tried to do sign in but it is showing signing failed and .....
when was the last time you were able to sign in?
-
I actually don't want the consulate to change since GUZ support EP, so I'll just mail NVC change of address letter.
-
That means if I don't request a chnage of consulate, the consulate won't change even if beneficiary changed her address to another country?
-
Would changing the beneficiary address from one country to another country
at NVC change which consulate the interview will be scheduled?
Most likely not, but need confirmation. Thanks
BTW, is it just me that find the NVC automated guy voice super annoying!?

LOL.....How come PD2010 filers moving faster than 2009/2008, According to DOS IV list, most I-130 cases filed on mid 2010. PD will be move next few months and start slow again.
WHat you guys think??
I think you should take back what you said
Give us some hope however small that maybe
And to the OP, i hope you're right
-
i think it happens to some members here with PD in late 2010 or early 2011 also.
but not all. i do hope cutoff date is moving from 2008 to 2010 but....chances are...
-
They better be for what they are charging!
-
In two months if the cutoff date keep pace with current movement and no bad news.

I think this belongs to another discussion section but I'll give you a link for reference
Official Family-based Immigrant Visas
I have a question, what's the difference between :
IR-2: Unmarried Child Under 21 Years of Age of a U.S. Citizen
and
Family First Preference (F1): Unmarried sons and daughters of U.S. citizens, and their minor children, if any. (23,400)
I mean if i were USC, why would I go for F1 which is limited based on visa # available.
Why not go for IR-2 which is not subjected to visa availability?
-
we need someone with a "newer" PD than yours april 08 to get the interview
Those with PD in 2009, 2010, I'm waiting for your
"OMG, i just got the interview date" post!

"Upcoming month's visa bulletin: August 2011 (Coming Soon)"
nice job updating that stupid VB page!
-
Based on what reasons? Any F2A filer from early 09 get their interview date recently???
-
What do u mean stuck? Isn't your pd close to 22MAR08?
-
hey our case was completed on 28 october 2010. But how can we get an interview for july?
If I were in your situation with PD is 25 march 2008 and cutoff 22MAR08 currently,
I'd contact NVC and ask if they have any interview date set for me.
I think Miami_Boy got his that way.
Do whatever you can to get the interview done in case of retrogression.
That's just my own opinion, so use your own judgement. Good Luck!

just to verify, other than Miami Boy (PD 03/11/2008) who has a confirmed interview date on 07/24/2011
no other F2A people with PD later than Mar 2008 has confirmed interview or notification from NVC that their case has started??
