Great post!
It's about time!!!!
The family-based immigration system for LPR is not only broken, outdated but inhumane. How do you expect overseas spouse to wait 4-5 years from aboard
and not even allowing them to visit? Travel visa application (B2) for spouse with pending I130 is nearly impossible to get!
U.S. citizen's spouse doesn't have to wait for visa numbers. Even F1 or H1 visa holder can sponsor their spouse to come stay in the United States. Why can't LPR do the same? We're paying taxes just like USC!
:protest:
I wholeheartedly support this Act, what I want to know is will this act be legalized? And more importantly, when will it make an impact for those F2A cases that are currently pending?
-
if you're in F2A, and you recently filed i130, unless you're getting USC soon, why does it matter if it takes more than 5 months, 6months or 8 months to get approval?
PD is still years away!?

07/01/11 ???????
06/01/11 22AUG07
05/01/11 08JUN07
04/01/11 01APR07
03/01/11 01JAN07
02/01/11 01JAN08
01/01/11 01JAN08
12/01/10 01AUG10
What's your prediction?
-
USCIS, California Service Center, (F2A Cat.)
NOA1- 11/23/2010
Touched- 3/18/2011
NOA2- 5/02/2011
NVC Process:
Case # Assigned - 05/11/2011
AOS Processing Fee Paid - 05/12/2011
do you pay the AOS fee now even though your PD is not current?
don't you wait for DS-3032?
what else can we do before reaching the point of waiting for PD to be current for F2A?

We want BIG Movement forward for F2A!
-
74 days forward is decent movement by itself but considering the back step 1290 days,
22AUG07 is pathetic!
looks like we're stabilizing back to April 2010 Bulletin's wait time right before
the big jump. It'll be interesting to see the next few bulletins...
And I don't like the fact that they don't mention anything about FB in the bulletin.
That to me indicates the usual movement in the upcoming months...or years...

Anyone else constantly checking the website for update?
my PD is years away yet I'm still hopelessly looking for miracle!
-
who says it'll be posted today?!?
-
-
01JUN07 to 01MAR09
that's a bit hard to believe....
-
waiting for the visa bullitenn... any idea when 08 april will come?? 3-4 months maybe
3 months sounds about right assuming no more "heavy F2A applicants" BS.
By August bulletin, F2A cutoff date should be 01April08.
-
Given mitch's case with PD 27JUN07 is being scheduled for interview
I think it's safe to say that JUNE's F2A cutoff date would likely be beyond 01AUG07.
I'm still predicting 01OCT07

Hi PD is current,
I think june VB for F2A may move for 1 year now..Since we are approaching the last quarter of this FY.Any unused up visas will be used up soon.
In general What are your guesses on F2A PDs..Do you think they will come back to normal soon?
I think the PDs keep changing fast and also the history of F2A shows that when ever dates retrogressed in the past they always can back to normal in MAX 6 months. Also many I-130 applicants who got approvals in the past 2-3 months got their choice of agent packages from the NVC already. So this indicates that NVC is getting ready for those cases since it is assuming that their PDs will become current soon.
(Any tym ppl get choice of agent letters from NVC their pDs will be current in max 3-4 months). So I guess next FY SEP visa bulliten new quota will be allocated and the PD will be AUG 2010 and will definitely move further from there.
I would be happy that your guess is right. But the past doesn't predict the future trend.
My guess is that F2A cutoff date will move forward 2-3 months at a time since they didn't emphasis
that a large number of F2A applicant like it did in the last few bulletins.
I don't anticipate big jump on cutoff date but I would love to be wrong on this one.
-
my priority date was the saddest date ever... 2010 PD was current for 6 months and i had to fix some stuff... by the time that i was ready to do.. then thy had to retrogress for 2 years.... to some lucky people, it took them 2 months to have their interview dates... while its been 4 months for mine... and still counting....
ive been in your spot too..... or shall i say, worst than that!
i hear you. well, at least it's almost over for you. good luck
-
do you guys think we'll have it by next month?
I wish i had your PD
yours will be current next month.
-
my I130 should be approved in 2 months, so the cutoff date should be 01JAN11 in 2 months!
希望能有奇蹟!!!!!!!!!

From May bulletin : "some movement is anticipated in most categories for the remainder of the fiscal year."
sounds more like the usual 2-3 months advances per month for F2A.
let's assume 2 month advance per month from June's Bulletin to December.
By December, F2A cutoff date would have moved 14 months from 08JUN07 to 01AUG08
Anyway, place you bets now
I'm going for 01OCT07

Chen,
i'm in the same boat as you. trying to reunite with my spouse from china
would you know what's required to apply for the visit visa?
-
referring to her priority date being current.
I meant to say what makes you think her PD is likely to be current in the next 2 month?
-
KEEP YOUR eyes out on all the bulletins that will roll out over the next 2 month.. it is likely to current then.
what makes you think it's F2A cutoff date is likely to be current in the next 2 month?
-
when applying for student visa, the application or the interviewer will ask you if you know of anyone in the United States, once they found out you are in the states, wouldn't they deny your student visa because of immigration intent?
also, can I be the sponsor of my oversea spouse for the student visa?
Reuniting Families Act H.R. 2709
in Bringing Family Members of Permanent Residents to America
Posted
Mike Honda recently RE-introduce the Reuniting Families Act H.R. 2709 that would make spouse and family of LPR become immediate relative.
I say, it's about time!!!!
