IR5 Sponsor for my Dad: Try do know what to submit

Hello All,

Sorry I can't find a sticky note of what to submit and steps to do to sponsor my Dad IR5 so I had to create this thread.

I'm a US citizen through naturalization. My Dad is currently outside the US.

Per this link https://www.uscis.gov/family/family-of-us-citizens/bringing-parents-to-live-in-the-united-states-as-permanent-residents

For father lives outside the US, I need:

- Form I-130

- A copy of your birth certificate showing your name and the names of both parents

- A copy of your Certificate of Naturalization or Citizenship or U.S. passport if you were not born in the United States

- A copy of your parents civil marriage certificate

I have attached all of the above English translated documents, including my parents' divorce document, when I fill out the I-130 online (about to file, currently a draft). My mom (green card) currently resides with me in the US btw.

From the list of the above documents, I don't see I-864 Affidavit of Support or DS-260 (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/forms/online-immigrant-visa-forms/ds-260-faqs.html)

so I guess maybe I should submit I-130 first and the USCIS or NVC will ask for other forms later after they have processed I-130.

The reason I created this thread because I want to submit the required forms together if possible (but if the forms shall be submitted in separate stages then so be it). Basically I need you tell me that just go ahead and submit first what is being asked at this stage:

- Form I-130

- A copy of your birth certificate showing your name and the names of both parents

- A copy of your Certificate of Naturalization or Citizenship or U.S. passport if you were not born in the United States

- A copy of your parents civil marriage certificate

I don't know if this shortcut is relevant to my case:

Thanks a lot.

My wife had a 221g appointment scheduled in June and canceled 2 days before,

I have tried to contact the Consulate with questions.

I received a reply to the first one in June, basic info, but no answer to my question,

since then I sent 2 more emails but haven't even received a reply. I'm just wondering when and how they will begin to interview, now that the consulate is supposed to be resuming operations, thanks

IR1/IR2 - 221(g) - 15 years of history after interview

Hello All,

My wife just had an emergency interview at HCMC on 10/6/21.

Consulate interview did not last that long, asked a few questions then handed my wife a 221(g) Blue form asking for 15 years of history (did not keep passport).

Siblings name, and birthdate

15 years of residence information

15 years of employment history

15 years of traveling history (visited other countries)

Have ever held another passport

child name, and birthdate

All spouses current and previous with birthdate

5 years of phone numbers

Social Media account 5 years

Phone number used past 5 years

name, visa type, and birthdate

Do we simply just provide the answers for these questions?

Should we include a letter describing when our relationship start until present?

My wife and I fear if we did not provide sufficient information, our visa will be denied.

Previously on the i-130 and the ds-260 form, we only included 5 years of history.

My wife traveled to Russia for tourism purposes and overstayed for 10 months from 05/10 - 03/11 (do we need a police certificate)?

I have confirmed with the civil document, only if she ever lived in another country more than 12 months or currently reside in another country more than 6 month then we will need to provide a police certificate from that country.

Anyone can provide insight to this matter is greatly appreciated.

We have read a lot of people stating the CO does not believe our relationship hence the extended background check.

We just received the notice from NVC that they will notify the HoChi Minh Embassy to schedule my wifes interview. The new Oct. 1 requirement mandates 2 COVID shots be proven at the Medical Physical. I thought I had read that there is a religous or medical exemption but now cannot locate it. Can anyone advise?

Thanks in advance.
