Hi all, My green card expires in December and my company just purchased a ticket for me to attend an event in Mexico from 10/07 to 10/13. I consulted with a lawyer and he advised not to travel without the extension letter because he said they won t let me back in because my GC is so closed to be expired. Is this true? have any you travel with your green card closed to be expired and no extension letter? I filed for ROC last week and now am waiting for the letter. Any advice or help would be appreciated.

Hello, My wife and I submitted the paperwork for her AOS in the beginning of May. The service center is Texas Service Center as she is in removal proceedings due to a denied asylum. I don't know if this context matters. USCIS online shows that her biometrics were re-used, and we received a letter saying they were re-used. This was in mid May. Today we received a letter from USCIS with an appointment for biometrics. Of course, we are going! We were just wondering if this is just bureaucracy gone wrong or if something else can cause this? Thank you!

Hello everyone, something strange happened to my wife's status. She had her N-400 interview a couple of days ago, she passed the test, and the officer told her to wait her mail notification for the ceremony. We just got an update on her removal of condition I-751 today. It says the case was transferred and a new office has jurisdiction. What seems weird is the officer did not ask about her I-751 case, did not even mentioned it, she just went ahead with the naturalization test and interview. As far as i know they can not adjudicate naturalization before closing the removal of conditions on her residence. Did somebody go through the same experience?

Hello, i am the petitioner for a k1 at the bogota embassy. My NOA2 is january 26 and my ceac status is "at nvc". It has been over 6 months without any letter or change to ceac status. I did call and received a case number and invoice number. I have now read the bogota embassy website carefully and it says on their informational page "As we increase the range of our immigrant services available, we ll be processing cases in the order that the National Visa Center determined the case to be documentarily qualified. I have never heard of this process and have never received any instruction on how to do this. On the ceac processing page, the only instruction is to fill out form DS-160, which as I understand has an expiration of 30 days and should be done as the case is sent to the consulate.
