Hey everyone,

It's been a while since Ive been around here, but I was hoping y'all could point me in the right direction. I have a friend who is a greencard holder and would like to bring his daughter to the States. His daughter is unmarried, over 21, and she also has a 4 year old daughter she would like to bring along with her. What are their options? Could he bring his daughter and granddaughter over to the States?

Thanks,

I-539 filed last year

VisaDonnie

This may be a bit long winded. Originally we filed for a K-1 Visa in 2019, and everything was approved and waiting for an interview, there of course Covid-19 came and everything got delayed. My wife came to visit for a couple weeks in FEB 2020 for a family function of mine and then Covid hit and she could not get back to her home country and was stuck here, she had a return ticket. So in June 2020 I filed an I-539 asking to extend her B1/B2 Visa because it was expiring in AUG 2020. I never heard anything back.

In December 2020 we decided to cancel the K-1, get married and filed for an Adjustment of Status (I-485, I-131, I-130). We then got notified this summer to do Biometrics for the I-539 which we did, then a month later we got notified again to do the biometrics for the AOS which we did. Then Bogota contacted us and said we are getting scheduled for an interview which I cancelled because we got married and no longer needed to do it and the K-1 was cancelled.

Then on September 20th 2021we got notified from USCIS we are getting scheduled for our AOS/Greencard interview, and we are still waiting for it. This week we got notified they want additional evidence for the I-539.

To me at this point I no longer need the I-539, and when we interview and hopefully pass that will negate the whole I-539 anyway. So what I am asking the community should we just tell USCIS to cancel the I-539? We don't really need it at this point.

Venezuela - Mother in Law Tourist Visa

Hello,

My wife and I want to help my mother in law apply for a tourist visa. She lives in Venezuela, and we know she has to do all the paperwork from Colombia. All that is fine.

My wife can't travel to see her because we are going through the adjustment of status process at this time, and she is currently in removal proceedings from an asylum interview.

Anyways, my MIL's passport will expire before her visa appointment which would be more than two years in the future.

Question:

Can we apply and pay the fee using her current passport number, renew the passport (which would change that number), and eventually report to the interview with that new passport? or do we have to renew the passport first and then apply?

Thank you!

Interview next month - is vaccine record needed?

My wife has her green card interview scheduled for next month and one of the items required on the notice was the following:

"If required, a completed Form-I693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccine Record, and/or vaccination supplement in a sealed envelope (unless already submitted)."

When my wife did her medical examination prior to the K1 visa interview, they neither gave her her vaccination record nor asked about it.

Does she need to do the medical examination again now that's she's in the US so they give her her vaccination record or can she go to the interview without the vaccination record since she did do the medical exam prior to being issued the K1 visa?
