Conditions Removal and SSN

I've finally entered the USA today, October 1st, and I wanted to ask those more experienced about my next moves and to clarify the removal of conditions.

I've read the I-751 guide here on the forum but to absolutely clarify, I must file the form 90 days before the end of my CR-1 visa? So this end date would be October 1st 2025 as I entered today, and the earliest I can file is July 1st, yes? And is this file online on USCIS or is this a paper form I need to download, print, then post?

The border officer mentioned my Green Card should come in the mail in two weeks, but also said it can take up to two months. If I haven't received it by then I need to chase it up with USCIS. They also mentioned that my visa acted as a temp Green Card, and I can apply for my SSN with it. This confuses me in hindsight as I'm pretty sure I ticked a box during the DS-260 forms asking for a SSN and paid additional. I'm now unsure how to check this. Do I need to apply for one, or should I wait and see if one turns up? And if not, where do I go to chase this up?

I didn't have time to ask the officer much due to rushing to catch my connecting flight to the States. Any help would be appreciated, as well as basic advice to settling in. Thanks.

DS-160 keeps timing out - driving me insane!

Can anyone suggest a fix for the DS-160 timing out when being filled out?

I am trying to fill out my previous work history, but between going back and forth between various docs to get the dates and info I need, the session keeps expiring - and I can't save my progress on a section without completing the full section!

I'm stuck in a loop of filling out all the info, having it time out and expire, logging back in to the same page, to just have the same problem again...

I saw a previous thread here suggesting to use Firefox, which I am now doing, but this still doesn't resolve it. I've also tried Brave and Edge browsers previously.

How do they think 1 - 2 min per page is sufficient time to complete a page that is asking for 5, 6, 7 or 8 lines of information per item?????

Hi All just thought id write a post sharing my journey as i think i still have many months to wait for an answer

found inadmissible at london embassy due to 212(2)(a)(2)

controlled substance violation - charged with possession less than 28.5 grams in usa in 99 ( i understand the law has made this no longer an issue in some circumstances but unfortunately i was out of status at the time - i will explain )

i have other criminal convictions but nothing mentioned about those in interview or on the denial form although attorney states some are CIMT.

basically parents seperated and didnt get along with stepfather natural father emigrated to us meanwhile . after i left school i was told i had to leave home so i went to visit father and realised i didnt want to lose him again and had no home to go to back to so we filed i-130 but at that time children were not allowed to stay with parents - i believe the law has changed meanwhile, we had no understanding of how long the process would take

became out of status then arrested for traffic offence and deported in 1999 - seperated from us citizen father and 2 us citizen brothers since then waiting for immigration processes.

this is the third time filing i-130 and waiting for priority dates to become current honestly struggling to build a life after being deported back here with nothing at 16 meant going through and paying for immigration processes was very difficult- even travelling to london a major problem as i live in the north.

during last interview everything seemed to go ok officer took my passport told me id get a stamp in it and that was it.

passport returned with denial stating denied under 2A2

paniced and hired attorney, felt it was no longer DIY - was up to this point and only recently i learned that 601 waiver existed at all.

601 waiver filed july 2023

father now in his 60s so feel like it has to happen this time or never will - parents divorced when i was 6 and my mother kept my father away from us until i turned 14, im hopefull but after all this time im almost resigned to a life of regret.

waiting for the outcome..

CEAC says "Ready", advice on when to submit DS-160 and schedule Interview? (UK)

Just checked the CEAC tracker and my case number now says "Ready"!

From what I understand, I'm now able to complete/submit my DS-160 but I am aware that on this form I will need to provide travel history. My issue here is that I'm due to take a trip to see my fianc in a little over 2 weeks, and know that I can't provide dates of trips waiting to happen. Would you advise I hang fire on the DS-160 til I return, or complete it now and bring up the more recent trip at interview?

Am I correct in thinking that I can't schedule a medical/interview before submitting the DS-160? Or can I now start to explore possible dates in advance of that?

Additionally, can anyone tell me how long the DS-160 is valid for after submission? If I submit it in October, will it still be valid til Nov/Dec/beyond?

FYI, I am still yet to receive any direct contact from London (in case this factors into things).

Wow, it feels like everything I've been reading for 6+ months immediately left my head now that it's crunch time!

Thank you! :D
