How long for your Green Card to arrive?

I paid the fees for my green card on the 29th, entered the US on the 1st.

I received my SS card two days ago (which was very fast, surprisingly) and I am attempting to join the military, this isn't possible with the temporary i-1551 stamp in my passport. It says they've received the fee for my green card they just need to produce it? I would imagine it'd be on its way already, right?

SSN - called SSA and nothing pending?

Hi everyone,

So after reading up on here I can see a lot of people seem to be having some issues getting their SSN. I received my employment authorization/ advanced parole on Monday so I called the SSA office today and they took my name and birthdate and said they didn't have anything pending to get my SSN, but that that doesn't necessarily mean it's not being processed, it just means it's not being processed by their office yet?

It's obviously a bit concerning, because I did apply for my SSN with my immigration paperwork, but I've also seen someone report they also did that and didn't received anything. I have a potential job lined up and it's frustrating after waiting 7 months for my employment authorization to have yet another delay. Immigration right?! Does anyone know what I should do next? I'm mainly worried about there being nothing pending, in which case I want to be able to apply asap but not sure how when they aren''t doing appointment.

She also asked if they had given me a number to call which I thought was strange because what other place could I contact besides the actual SSA office? I know if I call USCIS they'll tell me to just call SSA

Thanks everyone!

Hi all,

I recently became naturalized, but had to travel to the UK for a few months. While here I'm applying for my first U.S. passport at the embassy so that I can travel back to America. I was told it should take between 2-4 weeks. However, After 10 days, i've been looking on the state.gov passport website to check on its status but it says 'application not found'. I tried phoning the hotline and they said if the application is done overseas at am embassy they can't give me an update. Has anyone else applied this way? How long does it typically take?

Hi all,

I am hoping you can help me with the types of visas I need to apply for.

I am a US citizen living in the UK with my husband and daughter. Both my husband and daughter are UK citizens but we are looking at moving to the US during the course of the next year or so and wondered if you could help advise what forms and/or visa routes would be required for this? Would it be one or two individual I 130 forms and one or two IR 3 visas? (It s worth noting that we have been married for just under 5 years).

Thank you in advance.

Hi all, first of all I hope this is in the right topic, I wasn't sure where to post this at. I finally received my advanced parole and employment authorisation card today after a long 7 months of waiting! From what I've read, it seems as though my social security card should arrive in about 2 weeks, is this correct? I'm 99% sure I filled in the paperwork for it when I applied for everything. Do I have to wait for my SSN to be able to apply for jobs, I know they need it for the I-9, but would I be able to provide it later and be hired in the meantime?

My last question in, since there is still a travel ban because of covid for countries from Europe to the US, will I be able to enter the US with my advanced parole if I was to travel aboard? I am hoping to visit my family in the UK in December, but I want to be sure I will be able to come back in with that document.

Thanks!
