Filing taxes "Married Filing Jointly", how should I deal with my UK bank account? |

My wife (US Citizen) and I (UK Citizen, AOS pending) are currently looking at filing taxes as "Married Filing Jointly" for the first time. One thing in particular that's confusing us is how we should deal with my bank account in the UK. At the moment, judging by the current exchange rate, the value of my bank account is a tiny bit over $10,000. Does this mean I will have to file the FBAR form to go with it? Also, I earned a very small amount of interest in my bank account over the last year (less than 20), but I received no other income throughout the entire year. Does this also have to be reported, and if so, what would be the best way of doing it? I already have a social security number, and have been in the country since last January, so I'm fairly certain I cover the residence requirement. We're using TurboTax to go through this process, if that helps. Thanks in advance!

Hey guys, I know you should be changing address with USCIS as you re moving to different addresses. However, if your updated your address at the POE when coming to US, do you still need to change it with USCIS? Or changing it with and homeland security office changes it everywhere?

Hi everyone ... I am a US citizen living in Scotland UK with my Scottish husband. We've been married since 2018. We filed our I-130 in August 2020 and still haven't received our approval from the Nebraska Service Center. My UK Biometric Residence Permit expires May 16, 2021. I don't know whether to renew my visa for a cost of 2500 or go back to the US to begin to get re-established there. My husband I just don't want to spend large amounts of time apart if we can avoid it. Any advice; when we could expect things to start moving along or how COVID is affecting visa processing at the US Embassy in London; would be appreciated. Would it be better to use the 2500 for my husband to travel to the US to visit? Thanks in advance ... Dawn

Hi all, I arrived in the US fairly recently and my fianc and I are getting married next week and will then submit the paperwork for my AOS. I quit my old job (literally last working day was the same day I arrived in the US), but my old company is international and has several US offices. My old manager texted me today and said they are going to be doing new rounds of hiring in the upcoming months and that there are some roles that his US counterpart wants me to apply for. I have read that if you receive a job offer, you can use this to expedite the processing of your EAD. Is this legitimate? Can any advise how much this will actually help speed up the process? Thanks in advance!
