Hi all,

Just wondering if there is anything else I should provide or prepare when it comes to obtaining a credit card? I am travelling to the USA next month and will be looking to hopefully obtain my SSN about 2 weeks after travelling but keen to provide as much information as I can to obtain a credit card as I have read that UK credit score ratings doesn't carry over to USA credit score ratings (not sure how accurate that is though)?

Also which credit cards would you recommend?

How long should I expect to wait to receive my SSN after I entered the US? I arrived just over 3 weeks ago and haven't received it yet. I indicated on the DS-260 to have it processed after my arrival, as I won't have anything in my name with the house address.

I'm in FL.

Guessing the email I just received is a scam and can be ignored? Definitely doesn t look like a legitimate government address:

I am about to complete the I-130 form online but wanted to run a quick prep list with you before I start!

Evidence to submit:

Naturalisation cert

Passport copy (Just in case)

Marriage certificate to show my name change

My birth certificate showing Mum's name.

Name change deed for Mum as she got divorced.

Is that everything?
