Side loading at NVC or bring to interview

Hello,

Is it better to side load at NVC or take additional evidence to the interview? I ve read some conflicting info, all anecdotal of course. Some say that it can affect a COs decision (I ve also heard a CO makes a decision before the interview even happens and if you side load it can end up making the decision positive?) I ve also heard that they could already have made a decision and not even consider hand brought evidence and deny. Others say it won t affect their decision even if side loaded. Some say it s a red flag. Again others say an I-130s approval is enough since that means the CO would believe the relationship based on the available info and adding additional info without their asking could cause them to reconsider what USCIS already decided.

of course I m once again asking for opinions, but still curious and confused. Our original I-130 only has one meeting together, whereas we ve met a few more times since filing. Thanks!

I'm just starting the NVC process for my wife's CR1, but thinking ahead and wondering if once our case is approved and ready for an interview, how long we could delay the interview. Although we have a plan of when we want to move, we are having a baby soon and if we decide to stay longer (we live in Taiwan), could we tell them we want to wait on our interview? How far could we push it out if that's the case / is there a timeline of when we would be expected to finish up the case with the interview?

Time estimates for 221g after k1 interview

Quick background

1. Did my K1 interview in the Montreal Embassy on March 24, 2023

**I m a Taiwanese citizen and a Canadian PR.

2. Told at the interview that I need the correct RCMP police record cause I got the wrong type. Was given a 221g at the interview. On the 221g, there s the correct police record and my passport.

**In the afternoon, my case status online says refused .

3. Sent in the requested docs and Montreal Embassy received on April 6, 2023.

4. Since then, I ve seen that my case was last updated on April 13 and then again April 18, 2023. However, the case status hasn t changed. Still says refused .

Questions

1. What does it mean with my file being reviewed but status no change?

2. What s the recent timeline for K1 221g processing with Montreal Embassy?

Letter from employer (cr1) HELP (merged)

I am a US citizen living and working in Taiwan with my wife and am very concerned about the letter from my employer.

In Visajourney's NVC process guide, it states the following regarding letters from employers (READ RED).

Note: for petitioners living and working abroad, put $0 for the question on current income (unless your income will continue, then put the amount). In either case, include an employment letter with all the details and if your job will NOT continue, make sure it is stated as such in the letter. It'd also be a good idea to mention this in the cover letter.

Generally, the following is needed:

With no joint sponsors:

-Bar-coded cover sheet from payment portal

-Cover letter (optional)

  • You can find a sample cover letter I wrote here [17]

-Original completed, signed, and dated I-864 form by petitioner

-Tax information^^ of petitioner (either just the last year OR the last 3 years)

-Employment letter of petitioner (optional, but good proof of CURRENT income)

-Pay stub(s) of petitioner (optional, but good proof of CURRENT income)

My question

Is the letter generally asked for?

If so, what happens if you can not provide the letter?

I don't want to ask my employer for such a letter as it would tip them off that I will be quitting my job next year (and therefor they would not renew my contract coming up in a few months). In addition, I'm not even sure they could provide a letter. My boss doesn't speak (or write) very good English at all.

I will have 3 years of tax info as needed. If this letter is needed as well, I might have to find another job!

VERY concerned about this. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!
