  1. I entered the country on K1 visa and I'm now waiting for EAD/AP/AOS approval. They were submitted on May 22, 2023, received on May 30, 2023, and biometrics attended on June 21, 2023. I'm in Seattle, WA. I remember there's a Google Sheet that has all the K1 processing backlog and status. I wonder if there's one for EAD, AP, and AOS? Thanks!
  2. I did my interview already but I got a 221g for the correct police record. Sent it in but still waiting for the result.
  3. Quick background 1. Did my K1 interview in the Montreal Embassy on March 24, 2023 **I’m a Taiwanese citizen and a Canadian PR. 2. Told at the interview that I need the correct RCMP police record cause I got the wrong type. Was given a 221g at the interview. On the 221g, there’s the correct police record and my passport. **In the afternoon, my case status online says ‘refused’. 3. Sent in the requested docs and Montreal Embassy received on April 6, 2023. 4. Since then, I’ve seen that my case was last updated on April 13 and then again April 18, 2023. However, the case status hasn’t changed. Still says ‘refused’. Questions 1. What does it mean with my file being reviewed but status no change? 2. What’s the recent timeline for K1 221g processing with Montreal Embassy?
  4. Sorry. Correction. DS-160 online status says "Refused", not "Denied".
  5. I did my interview in Montreal, Canada in March 2023. The questions I got during the interview: Who petitioned for you? Where was I born? Where does your fiance live and what does he do for work? What do I do? How and when did you meet? What countries have you been to in the past 5 years? I realized I answered the 2 things wrong only until after I left the Embassy. They were: At the first window where they officer collected fingerprints and papers, I gave my finance's phone number wrong. 3 out of 10 digits were wrong, but the other 7 digits were right. At the second window where the interview happened, I said the year we met wrong. We met in 2017, but I said 2018. During the interview, the officer didn't grill me on any questions or circle back to ask me a question previously asked. It went bang bang bang, and she said "you're missing the right police record. The correct one should have XYZ. Follow this instruction to send in your correct police record and passport, we will process when we receive them." My interview lasted less than 10 mins. The entire embassy visit lasted about 1 hour from in to out. Most of the time was spent waiting. My DS-160 status online says 'Denied' in the afternoon. Has anyone got too nervous and answered questions wrong? what's your experience?
  6. Thank you! I just went to get it renewed. Do I need to file a record change thing with USCIS to tell them about my new passport?
  7. Started this journey in May 2022. Now in Jan 2023, I'm at the stage of Packet 4 waiting for interview appointment slots to opened up. The Interview Checklist and the Medical Exam Checklist all require passport valid for at least 6 months. My passport expires on Sep 6, 2023. As you know the languages on USCIS and relevant websites are never in sync. Examples: DS-160 Form said "a valid passport for at least 6 months" based on the "plan travel date". Medical Exam said "a passport valid for 6 months after your travel date to the US". Packet 3 Letter said "a passport valid for 6 months beyond the date you plan to enter the US" Given the wait time for the interview at Montreal, do you advise that I renew my passport now? I'm afraid that renewing my passport with a new passport number will screw up and further delay my processing. Suggestions?
  8. Finally got the Packet 4 email to schedule an interview. However, I haven't seen appointment slots at Montreal Embassy opened up yet. Does anyone have any insights on this? When does it usually open up?
  9. No to “I cannot work for an employer outside of the US”? Or no to “self-employed”? Or no to “you have to pay US tax”?
  10. Hello, Our I-129F NOV 2 recently got approved. I’m a Canadian PR, working remotely for a Canadian company, and getting paid in CAD. My employer agrees to continue my employment arrangements until I’m hirable (I.e. post EAD approval) in the US, then they will transfer me to our US entity. In planning for the next stages, I wonder if I can work continue to work remotely and getting paid in my Canada bank account while waiting for I-765 EAD? If the answer is yes, do I need to pay income tax for my Canadian salary during the EAD wait period? (Kinda dumb that the immigration system is decoupled from IRS) Similarly, can one be ‘self employed’ while waiting for I-765 EAD?
