It's probably been posted before but can't find it right now. How can I get passed the automated system when I call USCIS at 1-800-375-5283, anybody knows? I know others have been successful in talking to a Tier 2 agent.

We found out today that our petition was transferred from Nebraska to Potomac office, thus meaning longer processing times. We both live in Spain currently and I (US Citizen) received a job offer with a start date of October 2021 and were hoping to both be able to move to the States for my job in the Fall. After the news, I spent the day trying to figure out if we could get it expedited/contact with representatives. My husband, from Spain and in possession of an ESTA visa, would be able to come for 3 months on a tourist visa, but I wondered if instead of trying to rush the processing times (which I know is a slim chance) if there were a way to just get an extended visitor visa while we are waiting? I know I've heard of other couples getting to visit for 6 months in the forum. Is that possible for Europe/US couples? Thanks for any advice ahead of time!

Anyone gotten interviews at the Madrid Embassy lately? In the past, they have been quite speedy from DQ to interview notice, about 10-14 days but I haven't heard anything and it's been almost a month. Maybe they are prioritizing K1s ahead of CR1/IR1 this month?

I am currently waiting on the 2nd NOA from the Nebraska processing center, which from everything I've read and the timelines of other members, should be one of the faster processing centers. But we haven't heard anything and we originally filed in September 2020. I (the petitioner) accepted a job offer and will start in October in the States. We thought that should give us time to have the visa, but I'm starting to get worried. If I try to submit an inquiry it says the case is still within normal processing times. Is there a way that a job offer could be grounds to ask for a (slightly) expedited decision? Or do we just have to wait and hope for the best?

I'll be applying for naturalization through marriage in a couple of weeks. I already have my 10-year GC, and I will meet all the continuous residency requirements before I apply. However, in a few months we may be traveling to my home country. Here's why: Last year I lost both of my parents suddenly during the covid pandemic. As their only child, I have a ton of stuff to take care of in my home country (paperwork, red tape, their belongings, houses, etc). I have not been able to do many of these before because of the pandemic. So in a few months my husband and I are planning to travel to my home country to take care of everything, and as I'm self-employed I will have to pay my country's taxes for that amount of time. I'm not sure how long taking care of everything will take us, but it may be more than 6 months. Bureaucracy is slowwww. I was thinking of applying for a Re-Entry Permit before we leave the US, so as to not lose my permanent residence and eligibility for naturalization. Do you know of someone who has gone through a similar situation, and if so, how did it go? Do I need to have an approved Re-Entry Permit before I leave, or can I apply and leave before they make a decission on it? Also, it is at all possible to do the interview/oath abroad? I've done a lot of research, so I'm looking for actual cases of people in a similar situation, not general info. Thank you.
