Painless but slightly convoluted process.
- Need to go into the embassy twice, once at least 3 weeks before the other
- Only one place in the city does the medical
- Need to sign up for an account in a separate website to schedule appointment and arrange delivery/pickup of visa
Overall the interview process was smooth, if a bit convoluted. You first need to attend your medical at least 3 weeks before your actual scheduled interview. You will go to the health center, they'll do the health test and they'll give you a slip with a time slot to go to the embassy, either that same day or the following.
On this first appointment you need to bring all of the necessary documents (the ones they strictly required from me were original police certificates and marriage license) but I brought a lot more just in case. This step went well for me as I had submitted all the required documents, but somebody who was in the booth next to m... read complete review

No problems! My husband's interview went well and he said that everyone was very kind. The only thing is that you can't take your bag inside, as others mentioned. The best way to solve this is to leave your bag at your hotel (if you're coming from out of town). He stayed at the EasyHotel because it is affordable and they have lockers where you can leave your bag, and you can pay for them with your bank card if you don't have cash.
The first visit was a medical appointment and document review. You first go to the medical appointment, then get a chest x-ray at another location, and finally, go to the embassy at the time allotted (they tell you in a text message a couple of days before the medical appointment). They put everything they want you to bring in an envelope that you shouldn't open until the interview. In our case, it was just his birth certificate. They also tell you if you need to provide any additional documents, but we didn't.
Three weeks late... read complete review

Overall, an alright experience. My main hiccup was when I went to the embassy for my document review. Security would not let me enter with my small backpack, refused point blank. Someone else arrived to have their documents checked at the same time as me and they only had a canvas bag with their documents in it. The security team wouldn’t even let them use the canvas bag and make them take their documents out. I was very stressed and ended up quite upset, and they didn’t seem to care at all. I ended up having to leave my backpack at the newspaper stand across the street. The odd thing was, when I went back for my interview, everyone had their bags and backpacks inside. So I honestly don’t know, its very conflicting, but I wouldn’t risk it if you can avoid it. They were also very strict about the photo, and made me retake it on their machine there - I wouldn’t bother taking one in advance! Otherwise, the interviewee was very friendly and the interview portion was over in less ... read complete review
