Just want to make sure we are good on our end. The couple got married within 90 days of the fianc arriving in the US and then filed the adjustment application before the visa in the

So now we just have to wait for USCIS to mail us the acknowledgment of recipient and that allows the immigrant to stay in the country while they process the application right? Just making sure because their status feels so uncertain at this time. Any insights or advice is welcome. Also we were not able to file online had to mail a physical package so can t follow online for updates. I m we did send the package priority and got confirmation of delivery and the money for fees was debited from The account.

I am reading the K-1 Guide and it states the fiance should apply for an SSN as soon as they arrive in the US. Will SSA issue an SSN for work purposes only prior to Adjustment of Status filing?

Looking for some general advice, or if someone experienced this and how they proceeded. After receiving instructions on how to schedule the visa appointment and the letter with approved doctors we proceeded to try to schedule the medical exam. The beneficiary called to schedule and was told to bring one price (124,000 CFA). The letter from the embassy has the fee schedule for the medical, radiology, blood work and show it will be approximately 67,000 CFA. The additional cost would possibly be for vaccinations. Usually we would have accepted that the difference between the verbal price and the price with additional would be the final cost, but in this case we have gone through this process with this doctor once for my spouse and again for two stepchildren. The additional did not exceed 30,000 CFA in total. Still no where near the price. Just so happens my spouse is in Senegal and I asked him to call the doctor to ask why they are so far above the price the embassy has shown, he calls and the receptionist went even higher on him and said it will be 144,000 CFA. You might already know my question, do i just need to get with the embassy to sort this out? Yes I can select another doctor on the list, but that does not stop the process of abuse that seems to be happening to people just trying to navigate this process. Any advice?

Does anyone have any idea (rough estimate if known) when the appointments slots will open for the next month in the AVITS Dashboard? I was able to pay the $265 visa fee online and immediately redirected to the appointment calendar. Currently September have no more availability and the next three months are greyed out and not allowing me to select them. I am assuming this means that the calendar opens on some date in the future and then I would be able to go in to help schedule a Consulate Appointment. Is this date usually that last few days of the prior month, the first/first week of the next month. Or is this unknown and just have to keep checking back until you get lucky?

And I would assume I need to have that appointment scheduled prior to the actual MD honoring and medical appointment scheduling right?

We finally received word via the Public Inquiry request that our case has been sent for interview and that we don't need to put anything online in the NVC portal. As of today the status reads "Ready" but we have not received any letter from NVC. Based on that status I went into the AVITS website to create and appointment but I am unable to do so. Is that because the Consular does not have the case yet, or no appointment is available? Just wondering for planning purposes.
