Hello. I am a green card holder and I have submitted I 130 petition for reunification with my son, he is over 21 years old, lives in Russia, is not married. I received Form I 797 stating that USCIS received a petition and a letter with a code number to access the case in my account. 1. Could you please tell me what notifications (letters) to expect further? I know it takes about 7 years, but I would like to know what and when to expect further notifications and how to track the priority of consideration. 2. How does the status (type) of the case change after I receive citizenship, for example, after 3 years? Does this affect the speed of consideration of the case? Thank you.

Hello! I'm just beginning the immigration journey and filling out the required paperwork to bring my wife to USA from Russia. I noticed that there is a section that allows you to enter the embassy you are requesting interview in and noticed that many people had success getting cases transferred from Moscow to Warsaw. Wondering if it's best just to request Warsaw on the I-130 or to place Moscow in this section as this is the Country of residence for my wife. It wasn't immediately clear whether Warsaw was only processing transfer requests or accepting initial requests for interview at US Embassy in Warsaw. If I request Warsaw on the I-130 and it's denied because it's not a transfer request...will it automatically be sent to Moscow? Hope my question makes sense. Awaiting responses!!

Hello The "resident from date" on my conditional green card was 9/XX/2018, but when I received the permanent green card last year, it showed a "resident from date" of 9/XX/2020.... exactly two years difference. I found out that when applying for naturalization. So I am confused, Am I eligible to apply for naturalization under the three years rule ( I am married with a US citizen) based on the resident from date on the conditional green card? Is there a mistake there which I need to correct? How come there are two different "resident from dates"? Appreciate your advise. Thanks in advance.

I am reading that there is (yet another) government shutdown looming. Hopefully Congress will act and it won't come to this, but if there is a shutdown on October 1st would it affect visa interviews at US Embassies/Consulates? (My wife is having her CR1 visa interview on October 4th and the last thing we need is for her to be turned away because of this shutdown) Since there have been shutdowns before in previous years I am wondering if there is any previous experience on this among the VisaJourneyers?

Hi I am a K1 visa holder going through the AOS process. I got my medical examination (March 2020) and vaccination report in overseas before my K1 interview in overseas (March 2020). I moved to USA and got married here (June 2020). I just got my AOS interview notice. In this notice, it says that "If required, a completed Form I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, in a sealed envolope (unless already submitted). Please see the Form I-693 instructions for guidance on whether you need to complete medical examination, an updated vaccine supplement, or neither" I reviewed the instructions for Form I-693. There is a section that relates to K1 visa holders. It says that: What if I am a K nonimmigrant visa holder and already had a medical examination overseas? If you were admitted as a: -
K-1 fianc (e) or a K-2 child of a K-1 fianc (e); or -
K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen or a K-4 child of a K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen; and -
You received a medical examination prior to admission, then: -
(1) You are not required to have another medical examination as long as you file your Form I-485 within one year of an overseas medical examination; and (a) The panel physician did not find a class A medical condition during your overseas examination; or (b) The panel physician did find a class A medical condition, you received a waiver of inadmissibility, and you have complied with the terms and conditions of the waiver. -
(2) Even if a new medical examination is not required, you must still show proof that you complied with thevaccination requirements. If the vaccination record (DS 3025) was not properly completed and included as part of the original overseas medical examination report, you will need to have the Part 10. VaccinationRecord completed by a designated civil surgeon. In this case, you must submit Parts 1. - 5., 7., and 10. of Form I-693. Does this question and explanation relate to the initial AOS application or AOS interview? When I filed my AOS application, I did NOT include any I-693 form because my sealed medical envelope was kept by the the overseas consulate as part of my visa interview. But for the AOS interview, do I need to get a new medical examination? I am confused because, as explaned here (https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-8-part-b-chapter-4#S-C-4), I may be required to bring a new medical examination report (see the part highlighted in boldface) Timing of the Submission of the Medical Examination Report Applicants may submit the Form I-693 medical examination report to USCIS: -
Concurrently with the immigration benefit application; or -
At any time after filing the immigration benefit application but before USCIS finalizes adjudication of that application. If not submitted simultaneously with the immigration benefit application, applicants may bring the medical examination report to an interview or wait until USCIS issues an RFE requesting the medical examination report. Any help is appreciated. Thank you
