US Immigration from Russia

My fiancee finally entered the US on Oct 4th. We went to the SSA office yesterday, and when our number got called, we were informed that when my fiancee entered the country, the govt agency automatically applied for her SSN, and it would show up in 6 weeks. That they didn't want to process anything because someone could end up with two SSN numbers. I believe the clerk automatically assumed we were there on a spouse visa, and from what I read, that is the process for CR1 visas. Everything I have read about a K1 visa is that you have to apply 14 days before the I-94 expires or request an SSN when applying for an AoS. I would like to get her SSN number as soon as possible for a dozen reasons. Is it true that it is auto-applied for, or was this clerk poorly trained and misinformed? If I had thought about it while speaking with the clerk, I would have challenged the information and/or asked for a supervisor.

On another note, do we need to wait for something to pop up on the SAVE case check website before going? The clerk tried to enter information from the I-94 and said nothing was coming up but I'm not sure which website or program they were using. I'm not sure if that would have solved the issue either and they would have noticed they were wrong. If anyone could please help with these questions so we could get this extremely important step completed. Thanks!

Has anyone filed an expedited request with the USCIS to get there spouse out of Russia with the war going on? If you have please let me know what to do! Thank you Patrick

The email with the appointment date I received says something which I don"t understand:

Before traveling to your consular appointment, please check the Department of State Visa Bulletin to confirm that your priority date is still current. If it is not, you will need to reschedule your appointment when the priority date becomes current to continue your case processing. This does not apply for K visas (Fianc (e)/Spouse/Child), Boarding Foils and Returning Residents (SB1).

I believe, my experience can be helpful for someone.

My mother's interview for IR-5 visa was initially scheduled on June 18th. It wasn't possible for us to attend it on that date. When I called the U.S. consulate in Almaty, they told me to wait till the scheduled date and then I'll be able to reschedule it through their website https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-kz/iv/users/sign_in

But that information was wrong. In fact, I simply had to go to HOME CONTINUE EXPEDITE THE APPOINTMENT after logging into my account and finding the scheduled interview information.
Expedite doesn't necessarily mean you are requesting expediting. I actually requested delaying the interview through that button. My request was approved in less than a week. Now we have the interview scheduled on October 17th this year. Wish us luck!
