Fraudulent asylum case

Hi VJ-ers!

I have a question on behalf of someone who I'm acquainted with but by no means am close with.

She lives outside of US, and has former close friends who recently crossed the Mexico/US border and presented themselves in front of the asylum judge? Court? I'm sorry, I'm not really familiar with the process. In any event, they filed for political asylum and are currently in the US (since May I believe).

Their case is fabricated (my acquaintance has proof), and, furthermore, she suspects they might have smuggled drugs and are definite users right now (illegal heavy drugs).

I don't want to learn too much because I'm not close with any of these people nor do I care to insert myself in that story; however I told her that I'd ask this community about proper ways to alert the right authorities about this and present whatever proof she might have.

Do any of you have any experience or advice for her?

Thank you all in advance!

Alien number for J-1 visa holders?

Hi! I'm filling out the forms for the AOS and it asks for an A-number in them. I've been in the US on a J-1 visa doing Work & Travel program years ago and lost all the related paperwork, so I'm not sure if I had this number. Do J-1 visa holders normally get one? Maybe someone else here was in the same situation. Thank you for advice in advance :)

Hi! I will become eligible to apply for citizenship on August 9th 2023. I do have an international trip to my home country booked for less than 2 weeks right prior to this date. I will leave US on the 1st and come back on the 12th. I have been residing in the same state since first coming here on my K1 visa and will not be moving any time soon. My confusion is with the 3 months residency prior to filling N-400 out. I am planning to apply soon as I come back to the states and assuming I m good on this rule? I m just being paranoid and seek confirmation that that s ok (or not). Important: I ve been outside of US for a total of 66 days (including upcoming August trip) since I move here.

I potentially also will be traveling to Mexico for a week in October (but that s just in planning stage), so would also appreciate opinions on that as well. I think as long as we don t miss any USCIS notices we ll be good.

Thank you!

No recent taxes just pay stubs, need advice

Hello all! Firstly, thank you so much for your help in advance! I am looking for some advice please.

Last year I was a full time nursing student and therefore unemployed. My income was zero and I didn't file taxes.

Our case just got approved and sent to NVC but my first nursing job doesn't start for another 3 months, although, I do have an offer letter.

In the interim - I am working as a preschool teacher over the summer until my nursing job starts. But, I just started working as a preschool teacher and should get my first pay stub soon.

I am really worried about being rejected from NVC because of my lack of recent tax returns and becuase I newly got a job.

Any idea how many pay stubs you think would be sufficient and if I stand a chance without tax returns? Do you think 3 pay stubs and my nursing offer letter would suffice?

I don't really have anyone to ask to joint sponsor me :( I'm really worried.

Thank you all!

Tourist visa appointments for Russians via Kazakhstan

So we used the ustraveldocs site to schedule a tourist visa appointment for MIL in Almaty. Kazakhstan is allowing Russians to schedule appointments there even if you are a nonresident. The calendar showed up no problem and there were plenty of appointments in August, then all booked up until November.

Just wanted to share this here because you don't need a 3rd party company to book your appointment. Be sure to pay the fee with a US card because Russian bank cards don't work. Almaty seems to offer interviews in Russian language as well.
