Dear VJ'ers, My wife is immigrating through the CR1 spousal immigration process and will become a Green Card holder shortly. Her divorced sister deceased almost 2 years ago and left behind her son, my wife's nephew. He is now 18 years old. His father lives in another country and does not take care of him. My wife wants to bring him from their non-Hague country to the United States to give him a better future. Any way for us to do that? Thank you!

Hello, my wife got her GC February 2019 and expires February 2021. She came on the K1 visa. I am confused whether she is a conditional permanent resident or Permanent resident. The card itself says Permanent resident. Can someone please tell us how to renew? Will we have to pay a fee again? Also, to complicate matters, I lost my job last month... will this create a problem? Thanks in advance!

Hi. We got our NOA2 in April, since then our case is stuck at the NVC, no info about Moscow embassy reopening interviews. I just requested Expedite interview from the NVC (i guess you suppose to do it through them), as the main reason i've mentioned financial hardship (we really do have a problem with it right now, especially me, who is stuck in russia and cannot work). Do you think this might work out?

Good morning all, Does anyone know what happens if someone decides to cancel K-1, get married, and go for CR-1 instead as far as the records in the system? I am planning on sending a letter to USCIS once we get married to cancel I-129F. Will all the information for the I-129F be in the same file as the I-130? I assume they search your name/ social and see all the petitions you have done? I am not worried as all information will be the same, but just curious how they keep up with all of that. Could they ask about why we decided to cancel the fiance route and go the marriage route?

At this point in the K-1 Visa process, I have received the NOA2 since April 16, 2020. That means it has been over 4 months that I've been waiting for a Welcome Letter. I've called the NVC and they've already given me the case number and the invoice number. However, everytime I check their website it shows that my application is still stuck at their center. The embassy that I want my documents to reach is in Moscow, Russia. When will my documents be examined in Moscow Embassy, and when will I receive instructions to prepare for the interview?
