Hi everybody! I was wondering if you could help us. My wife did the citizenship interview in Feb in the NYC USCIS district office. We were asked to send some additional docs due to the fact that we were abroad for a long time (around 8 months) and to specifically show proof that we are still together. The thing is that we recently moved out of NY to NJ and did not change the address as we were not sure if it would become our permanent place of stay (Due to Covid) so we kept my family's address in NY. We re pretty much just wondering if we should notify USCIS of the change of address since the case would be moved to NJ office, or just keep the one we have for now. The big thing we fear is being pushed to the back of the line in NJ and having to wait even longer. Thanks!

I finally got my passport this week, and they sent my Certificate of Naturalization back in a separate envelope, which was just a regular manila envelope that got all bent in the mail. But the worst part is that whoever was closing that envelope, caught an edge of my certificate in the glue, and as I was opening it, a small piece got torn off from the bottom of the certificate. The damage is not bad, I can probably tape it back on since the tear goes through the words "department of homeland security" on the bottom of the certificate and the rest of it is fine. The question is, should I try to repair it , leave it as is, or should I request a new naturalization certificate? All the important parts of the certificate, by which I mean the parts that contain my name, photo, date of birth, and all the signatures, still look good.

Hi everyone, I didn't find an answer to my question via search option but was hoping that someone could maybe help me figure this out. Long story short: my husband and I relocated (from CA) to our family vacation house (in VT) in early June with plans to return to CA in October. In August, because both of our employers announced that we will remain fully remote until at least Spring of 2021, we decided not to extend the lease for our CA apartment, and instead stay in VT indefinitely. Because we were back-and-forth between the VT house and my husband's parents house in NJ, I changed my address to NJ house. In September we fully settled in the VT house, and I updated my physical address to VT. However because there is no USPS service to our house in VT (we have a PO Box, but unfortunately - the service in our rural area is still not very reliable, and we're worried that our mail won't make it to us a) on time; b) at all) - I left our mailing address as the NJ house. 2 questions: 1) How long does it take for the online system to update the physical address? I made the update on September 21, and received online confirmations for both I-751 and N400 but my online account is still showing just the NJ address. Should I update it again? 2) Is having 2 addresses in 2 different states an issue? Should I switch the mailing address to our PO Box even if there's a risk of not getting the mail on time? Or should I change both back to NJ address (but we rarely go there anymore & don't plan to spend much time there this upcoming winter) Thank you!

We have recently filed our naturalization applications (5 years LPR eligiblity criteria) but are considering moving to another state. I wonder what the implications of such a move overall and especially on the case processing times. I am curious if anyone here knows whether the applications transferred from another field office are put at the end of backlog or processed in the order of priority dates? Basically is there a reason to delay the move or instead move to another state as soon as possible?
