Hello! Could you help me with this question please? I plan to change my name through the court, since the new surname is not indicated in the marriage certificate (I wonder why?), In order to change the foreign passport and the civil passport of Russia (for example, only the SSN number with the new surname is not enough for them, they need a court decision ). Now I realized that in this case my patronymic (the part of the name used in Russia) will be lost in this case (the name format in the USA does not provide for the patronymic, only the middle name). I seem to have found a way out - if I enter my patronymic in the court decision as a middle name, Russia will recognize it as a patronymic . But I have already submitted forms 485, 131, 765 with only first and last (new) name, as well as a request for an SSN. It will turn out to be inconsistent in all documents. Is it possible to somehow notify USCIS about this and get a green card with a middle name (patronymic)? Thank you.

Hello. Our marriage certificate did not include my new surname (issued in Chicago). Now, in order to change my passport, I need a court decision to change my name. Has anyone gone through this procedure? Could you please provide a link to the Chicago Department of Justice website describing the procedure for changing your surname?

Hi all, Im currently waiting for my n400 interview and noticed a RFE pop-up message that'd say something like "we mailed you instructions blah blah." Yesterday the message was gone when I logged in, and now my account page looks just like it used to, except the time estimate to complete my case is gone. Haven't received anything in mail yet, but am starting to wonder if that was just a website glitch. I don't know for how long the RFE message had been up since I first saw it last week when logging in to check the processing time, but I usually do so once over the weekend. Has that happened to anyone else?

My I-129F was approved on February 22nd and since then I have called NVC three times, each one week apart and they still haven't received my petition. They keep telling me it can take up to 60 days but it's now been seven weeks and I'm a little worried they lost it or never sent it. I've seen a lot of people on here getting approved after me and have already gotten their case numbers. Should I be worried?
