I-864 Country of Domicile

I'm stuck at part 4 question 5. Is USA the only answer that is not going to cause a rejection for the form? I'm going to show proof of intent to reestablish the US domicile, but my current domicile is a different country. According to the instructions, they ask about the country where you plan to reside in the foreeseable future, so since I'm going to be in the US in the next few months, then I'm kinda confused what should be the answer here

Has a congressperson or senator actually helped you in 2021?

I keep hearing advice to contact your senator and/or congressperson but has doing that actually helped anyone here?

I reached out to my congressperson and filled out the forms, talked to their contact on the phone and then never heard anything again. I emailed them three times, the last time just this week and they never responded at all.

So that s my question, did doing this make a difference for you? If so please let us know here.

thanks!

Tax return for I-864 with no US income

Hi guys,

I'm close to sending a complete AOS package to the NVC and was wondering what should I do in regards to my tax returns. I'm an expat, so all the income I had in the last few years was non-US based, thus I assume that everywhere in I-864, when asked for income(current annual individual income, last three years incomes) I should put 0? If so, then there are two questions I have

1. I know I'm supposed to attach tax return/transcript. I can't get tax transcript because I have no proof of residency in the US, so I'm left with tax return. In my 2021 tax return I have total income around $20k, but I'm supposed to write $0 in the I-864, since it has to be only US based income on this form? Won't there be a problem that numbers on attached I-864 don't match the numbers entered into the I-864?

2. As for W-2 and 1099, all I have to do is to add a statement to CEAC that I don't have them, since I didn't work in the US? I've seen many people getting RFE for not mentioning that on their applications.

3. I'm using external services(Expat Tax Online) to file my tax returns, and for the last year I got from the an almost 50 pages package with my 1040 and few other forms that are necessary for expat filing(1116, 2555, FBAR, IRS e-file Signature Authorization, etc.) Can I upload all of that together or do I need to extract only 1040 from that package?

Reestablishing domicile to pass the NVC stage I-864

Hello guys,

I've recently had a big change in my plans of going through the NVC, after having an opportunity to talk directly to consular officers that conduct the visa interviews and when I told them my plan of coming alone to the US to reestablish the domicile, start a job and then filing all the documents, they said it's a perfectly fine idea, good enough for them. The worst part I learned is that the interview wait time has risen from the usual 1 month to 6-8 months, currently. This made my and wife have a change of plans and we have a joint sponsor lined up that will solve the income issue and let us possibly go through the process without being apart for almost a year. The question is the domicile. We learned that the US embassy in Poland is pretty liberal about this matter, but still, we need to get pass through NVC first, and I assume, that they might have bigger requirements for the main sponsor who has spent almost all his life outside the US and thus doesn't have any ties with the US currently. I see some people asking questions about the domicile, who have some ties with the US maintained, but I have none. I'm going to travel to the US in next two weeks to get all paperwork related to the joint sponsor done and I was thinking what could I do during that 7 days of my visit to have domicile reestablished as much as possible. What a consular officer also told us, is that after many enough rejections from NVC, the case will be moved to the embassy, for them to make the decision, however, waiting few 2 months periods doesn't seem like a great idea.
